Circle Of Contempt have seriously stepped their game up since Artifacts In Motion. The new members seem to have added an entirely new dimension to COC's music, especially new singer Denis Hautaniemi, who literally blows away everything the old singer ever did (the old guy was pretty much trying to rip off every deathcore vocalist out there, whereas Denis takes a more Melo-Death approach). The guitar work is more adventurous than ever (the "solo" at the end of Transient Belief is beautiful) and the drumming is better than ever. The bassist is a little absent from the mix though.rAll in all, this E.P. rocks! COC definitely have a lot of talent, and this shows here.

Circle of Contempt.....o boy you have improved.
It's been over three years since "Artifacts in Motion" and Circle of Contempt have been in the studio to give us their new Ep Entwine The Threads. After dropping Riku from the cast of members and added the new vocalist Denis Hautaniemi. His range on the album is very similar to Geoffrey Ficco from the Faceless Autotheism album. It addes more of a death metalish vocals. The guitars on this album are heavy and audible with solo's. This is Circle's attempt to become more progressive and it's very welcome. Such as on Tracks "To Entitle Vancany" and Entwine The Threads. The ep has all the goods of Artifacts in Motion but with solo's and a sight overabundance of syths. The syths add to the album but at times it is overbearing especially if you want to hear the riffs. The bass is not audible on this album at all. It wouldn't be bad if they added on here. My main complaint with the Ep is that it's very short. But, for an Ep this is a damn good continuation of this band and i cannot wait for the second album.

I'm absolutely loving this. Super technical yet avoids falling into complete wankery. Beautifully melodic yet packing a dense crunch with the rhythms.

technically brilliant as usual, but a little too chaotic, overall missing the catchy parts. "Dare To Defy" is skippable btw, what makes Entwine The Threads basically a 4-song EP rather than a 5-track one. 20 percent filler? not that great, especially at such a short playtime (19 minutes). a good 3.5, nothing more. calm down guys.
