This should have been called The Shape of Alternative Metal to Come, because just like the Refused album, this was a landmark on the genre and a lot of bands tried to copy it, but only a few came close.

Now we're talking! Each song has a moment for the rhythm section to shine while Page's vocals are at his angriest, dirtiest and most rebellious yet. While the mood does manage to stay the same during the whole 37-minute package, what makes up for Meantime over Strap It On is its consistency to prevent itself from overstaying its welcome. Unsung is the quintessential Alternative Metal anthem.

Perhaps one of the grandfathers of all (mainstream) hard rock oriented bands of the 90's, the 00's, and even the 10's. Without this band, we wouldn't even have Chevelle, Clutch, or pretty much any differing hard rock band for the next few decades. This band, especially this album, deserve all the praise you've heard or ever will hear.

A landmark record in the world of alternative and metal, all 10 tracks work together to bring forth an album that is fully focused and charged. Though it doesn't offer much for variety, that only emphasizes its blunt sound of barebones riffs, unusual song structures, and raw anger.

Helmet's Meantime. Noise rock and hardcore fused into what can only be described as distorted barrage of hard, un-melodic riffs, raw shouts and monotone singing and a rhythm section that is tighter than a duck's arsehole. Of particular note are the bass-lines that are as complex as they are earth shattering, as well as Paige Hamilton's incredible vocal performance. This album is the sound of every pent up frustration, every moment of repressed rage being released in a cathartic bloodbath. It truly is one of the best "stomp-and-go" albums ever.
