Released in the mid-90s, this debut album of ??? Virginia-based rock band Seven Mary Three, is considered amongst the highlights of the post-grunge era. While "Cumbersome" and "r"Water's Edge" are often cited as the highlights, I also found "Devil Boy", "Headstrong" and the beautiful anti-bullying "Lame", equally strong tracks. With compelling melodies, and a passionate - full of grit - vocal performance from Jason Ross, American Standard is powerful album worth listening to.r

Classic 90s grunge album. Almost funny how back in the 90s a band could make a song about being a 26 years old porking a 16 year old and no one would say a damn thing about it. Shame on you SMT!
