And if anybody was wondering, this is a pile of shit.

0.0 | | November 21st 12 | With absolutely no variation in its chug and breakdown-laden songwriting, bland and boring harsh vocals, laughable lyricism and a strip down of their sound. Woe, Is Me's latest effort is absolutely lackluster, and seems as though it was just rushed out to please the fans, as it seems that little to no work was put into its composition. The only positive aspect is Hance's vocals which unfortunately aren't able to raise this album from the depths of hilarity.

0.0 | cliiint | November 14th 12 | how can you guys think hance is anything less than shit? the way he tries to punch some of his words and his voice does that weird shrill sound. it's so bad. there's nothing good about this album.

1.0 awful | Shiduba | November 13th 12 | As I (and many others) expected, this is easily one of the worst albums of the year. There ris absolutely nothing interesting in this incredibly boring release, it just chugs, chugs rand chugs. And CHUGS. STOP IT. Occassionally you might also hear some 3p1c synth and rtotally not overused glitchy effects, and let's not forget about the bland "choruses"! I rwon't lie, the vocalists are quite skilled, and that's the only thing which might lead rpeople into believing that Woe, Is Me has any talent. They even got Matty Mullings, one of rmy favorite vocalists to feature in this album and the song he's in is some kind of a pop-rpunky "epic anthem" closer. And it fucking blows! I won't even delve into the lyrics, if ryou're reading this you've probably seen the "I've Told You Once" lyric video and that is renough.rEdit: Seems like the song Matty's in is actually "The Walking Dead". Whatever, they're all rshit. The fact that I didn't notice shows how much I care

0.0 | Surtur | April 27th 13 | With the clean vocals being the only redeeming factor, the constant chugging and terrible
lyrics make this probably one of the most boring albums I've ever heard.

0.0 | SatelliteYears | November 21st 12 | The only reason why this gets more than a one for me is because Hance Alligood is a solid vocalist, though very underused. There's nothing going on here except chug-chug guitar patterns and atrocious lyrics like "It's hard to talk shit with a dick in your throat". Just awful. A huge step back from Number[s], which while not anything groundbreaking, was a solid listen. Avoid.

1.5 very poor | merpmerp | November 20th 12 | Let me give you Genesi[s] in a nutshell. Imagine a band with no melody. No catchy choruses.
No sense of even wanting to sound decent. That's exactly what Woe, Is Me decided to do with
this terrible sophomore effort. There are virtually no guitar riffs on this whole album,
just chugs and breakdowns. LOTS of breakdowns. Inaudible bass, monotone screams, and average
cleans lead this album to its demise. The drums are the only redeeming factor on this pile
of shit, and that's not saying much. Overall, Woe, Is Me have shown that they are capable of
bringing absolutely nothing new to the table.

0.0 | TBH717 | November 14th 12 | Albeit incredibly generic in both lyrics and sound, and not being too proficient in musicianship; it seems to be the actual execution of this mediocrity that makes this anything more than a 2.5. Good listen from time to time.

1.5 very poor | xXbrooksXxp | April 24th 14 | To be fair, I only listened to half of the album. But that was much more than enough to prove to me that this is probably some of the most generic trash I would ever hear. A 1.5 is being generous.

1.0 awful | maninthebox | February 25th 14 | Holy shit, these guys are basically a fucking boy band. I mean the terrible top 40 RnB clean singing, the coordinated dance moves, and the shitty posturing. To top it all off, when One Direction here, do decide to go heavy it's the most yawn inducing experience ever. Woe is me for even trying to listen to this album.

1.5 very poor | HappyToast | July 9th 13 | Every song has a very whiney and angry feeling to it that has the deepness of an immature middle schooler. Every song sounds the same. Instrumentally basic, generic, uncreative and does not deliver an atmosphere worthy of anything, lyrically the same way.rDoriano may have a powerful growl, but a tiny bite when it comes pulling anything together.rHance, though not bad, is not impressive or changing. Every chorus he's in sounds the same.rSome of the best parts of this album are its guest vocalists (the former Attack Attack! vocalist Caleb Shomo and Matty Mullins from Memphis May Fire). Although no real rhyme or reason their here other than to change things up a bit (which only helped as sad as that is).rIf you want to know what most every song on this album is like, listen to "I've Told You Once" and think, "What if the amusing one liners were taken out of this?" There's Genesi[s] for you.rWhen Family First came on I was relieved to hear it wasn't about whining on about the Issues guy... BUT THEN THEY DID IT ANYWAY!!!!!!!!

0.0 | YakNips | May 5th 13 | This album was a shame to the name that is Woe, Is Me. This is if you took Number[s], and then took away all it's charm, replaced Jonny Craig guest spots with Caleb Shomo and Matty Mullins, and cut down the catchy moments to a bare minimum.

4.0 excellent | expassion | April 20th 13 | I don't know... If you forget about the pathetic lyrics and accept the fact that this is a really trite genre of music this album becomes... enjoyable. It kinda provides you with the energy. Doriano vocals put me off at first, but now i must say I dig them. And yeah, whole album sounds the same.

2.0 poor | TheThirdChildren | March 20th 13 | When Woe, Is Me released "I've Told You Once," I was slightly worried about how the rest of rthe album was going to sound. While "I've Told You Once" was okay, it was plagued by boring rand repetitve "chug chug chug" guitars that never change tone throughout the song, and rhorrendous lyrics like "it must be hard to talk shit with a dick in your throat." I've rfinally gotten around to listening to the full album... And wow. Every song sounds EXACTLY rthe same. And are ruined by the same things that flawed "I've Told You Once"... Shitty rdjent-like guitars that never change tone and horrible, HORRIBLE lyrics. The screaming rvocalist, while not a bad vocalist, isn't all that great and lacks variety in his screams. rNot even the clean vocalists nor the guest vocalists can save this album. Stay far, far away rfrom Genesi[s].

1.0 awful | DrKok2Puss | January 17th 13 | There isn't a shred of musical talent exhibited on Genesi[S]. Monotone screams and below average clean vocals are used with atrocious lyrics which are written based only upon former singer Tyler Carter and the "hAt3r$" (yeah, the album seriously has 2 topics and yes, they are swag-fags). Guitar is chugs, chugs, chugs, anddd more chugs. Austin Thornton (aka King Boss of the band) somehow managed to depreciate in drumming ability. Just a terrible excuse for music, Woe, Is Me is killing post-hardcore.

1.0 awful | c0nf1n3d | December 19th 12 | Pure geniu[s]! It's so impre[s][s]ive to [s]ee that thi[s] band ha[s] not faltered with their [s]ophomore relea[s]e.
When pre[s]ented with dilemma[s] like, "what do we do with lead guitar part[s]?", and from there have
repetitive breakdown[s] is purely magical. Lyrically, it'[s] the be[s]t thing in the entire univer[s]e. Line[s] such
a[s] "It mu[s]t be hard to talk [*]*** with a **** in your throat" are purely original and i[s] [s]omething that can
be viewed in competition with [S]hake[s]peare. Don't forget the random orche[s]tral parts! While their
previou[s] album didn't make u[s]e of the potential of tho[s]e part[s], thi[s] album definitely doe[s]. The
random cut[s] to the orche[s]tral part[s] can be viewed a[s] a genre [s]tandard. Great album!

1.0 awful | pepster50 | December 14th 12 | seriously one of the worst albums I've ever heard. Barely made it through. This isn't even worth falling asleep to. Everything that made Numbers a decent record is completely gone. Everything that made Numbers a shitty record has been amplified to a million. No originality AT ALL. No interesting guitar. The only thing redeemable about this album is Hance, who is a good vocalist. Doriano should retire.... NOW. Sounds like a cat hissing. BAD ALBUM.

2.0 poor | jwyles4 | November 28th 12 | Everything that was good about Number[s] is gone. Woe, Is Me now consists of a bunch of people who abandoned the idea of being a serious band. If you are expecting anything out of this album other than a complete Issues/Tyler Carter diss then you will be utterly disappointed. Though the album really isn't awful, it is just painfully, painfully, mediocre.
Bump |
1.0 awful | DaisyHill | November 26th 12 | At least Issues though almost as juvenile, are quite catchy (mainly due to Tyler Carters chorus') Which makes them listenable. This however, especially considering how relatively "good" numbers was is a total mess of boring chugging guitars, uninteresting and monotomous harsh vocals and bland "bargain basement" synths that add nothing to the music.

1.0 awful | Noteros | November 16th 12 | Look, yes I'm a big fan Issues, and I was a huge WIM fan before the breakup. So, although I wasn't fond of the singles that came from Genesis I'm giving it a go now but here's the problem! The songs all sound the same! Yeah, a couple songs here and there are good (Family First) but I swear if you made a compilation of all Hance's clean vocal parts they'd all have the exact same tune! That's my main problem. This album has no variety in sound, so if your into the same thing over and over, this is for you. This band has lost it's touch and I'm sorry but I don't recommend this.

I admit I intially hated this, but i am already on the 3rd listen and must say it is a grower. If you go into it with the intention to hate it, you will, try not to be biased and give it a spin

1.0 awful | iGuter | November 14th 12 | A horrendous and teething experiencie; there isn't a rhyme scheme, consistent tone, or even a guilty pleasure feel to this album. It's just loud, obnoxious and disgusting. After the release of the intro single "Vengeance" was released for their new lead singer, I thought maybe this would be a new turn. To my surprise, all my expectations were shut down with the release of their re-issue, which made me feel less anxious and cringing at the the thought of what they could release. The worse of my fears came true and now this unmemorable piece of garbage has been released to the world. Their new singer (sometimes based on style) is horrendously bland and unspectacular. His voice is robotic, his voice doesn't even have soul, he just hides it underneath low yelps to make it sound like he has a style when it only sounds like a cat hacking up a hairball(insert Gollum joke). Even the best tracks like "Family First" have the cheesiest and cliched lyrics, but those can always be fun to listen if it has the right music to back it up.

2.5 average | d00derz | November 13th 12 | Not as terrible as I expected it to be, but nonetheless enjoyable to a certain extent. They have some very capable vocalists now, so if they could just write music that wasn't beyond generic and write lyrics that don't mention chocking on a dick, then perhaps there is hope. I'm highly doubtful, but oh well.
