Less serious than their last two, Local Business is the perfect follow-up to the Monitor; it's fun, it's more Replacements and less Springsteen, and it's everything we could except after releasing such a beast in the Monitor. Titus delivers again. 4-4.5/5

This is no The Monitor, but this isn't that kind of album. This is however an incredibly catchy clean produced obviously Titus album. Ecce Homo is one of the greatest songs of the year; I am the Electric Man and i'm loving it.

Local Business is a weird one for sure, and one that I felt was very hard to review. I enjoyed the majority of the album, just like The Monitor, but there's an element that I'm just not feeling too much. I think I just find some moments corny, whether they are supposed to be or not doesn't matter to me. There are way too many songs that sound ripe for dancing the Carlton to (I guess that is the Springsteen influence), maybe a little too jangly and jolly sounding for my tastes. The punk influence isn't out in the open all that much, and I feel Local Business heads into the classic rock territory more times than anything else. Titus is capable of extreme depth, and it's cool how most of the songs evolve, but you usually have to sit through something unpleasant to get to it. The instrumentals are pretty basic, but there are a couple very nice breakdowns and some great riffs on here as well. The singer sounds pretty much exactly how he looks (kinda like a drunk guy singing karaoke), and some of the vocals are sloppy, but there is some decent melody and flow going on here. The bass hits pretty hard on a couple songs too. While Local Business is just a step above mediocre, I think it's still worth a listen or two.

It's no Monitor, but if we're being honest here, nothing is. Titus Andronicus really can't do anything wrong, even when they change what they sound like (at least a little bit) they still maintain a nice, solid sound. Took a couple of listens, but this really is an amazing album.
