Corpse put out their best piece with Corpsegrinder so far. It improves on every measure compared to the previous two. Speed, heaviness, production, technicality, and is just a slaughter.

Absolutely the pinnacle of the death metal genre. Nothing can rival this massive, flesh-ripping, monolithic masterpiece. Every component of this album is flawless. The riffs are varied, with tons of scalpel-sharp tremolo riffs paired with churning mid-paced riffs that literally sound like ripping someone's arms out of their sockets, the sinews giving way as the bones separate. Nothing out of place, a true work of art, an unmatched pinnacle even 17 years later, and undoubtedly the best album by the genre's most successful band.

Taking the complex, technical riffing of Vile and pushing it to the nth degree, Bloodthirst is one of the most intense, adrenalin-fueled and blistering records in the death metal genre and easily a career highpoint for Cannibal Coprse.

(10/17/18): Masterfully crafted as much as it is delightfully campy (even for this band), Bloodthirst is one of those Cannibal Corpse recordings that mustn't be thrown under the dysfunctional bus. From the razor sharp instrumental passages to the articulate power and weight of George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher's vocal performance, there really isn't much to harp on. Essential dm listening right here. Light 4.5
