A few interesting changes in their sound but some of that is forgotten with less than
memorable tracks.

This just doesn't sound like Band of Horses. Huge disappointment. It almost sounds Foo Fighteresque with guitar rifts that don't match the song and a voice that doesn't match any of it. It all sounds forced. Slow Cruel Hands of Time and Shut in Tourist are the only songs that sounded like Band of Horses. If you like new Foo Fighters, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World.. and etc.. you will enjoy this album. It just didn't strike a chord with me like Infinite Arms and Cease to Begin.

meh. They're going too much in the direction of Americana instead of Indie Rock. If they did it well it'd be ok but instead they produce unoriginal and unmemorable tracks.

I thought this was a nice little folk rock record. The songs aren't exactly the most
original things in the world and I feel a whole lot more could have been done with them.
There are some really beautiful sounds on 'Shut-In Tourist' which points towards something
more but the structures, overall stylistics and vocals are all well explored before. I still
thought it was a good album just nothing really new. Even on some louder moments, the album
never really hooked me. I'd recommend it but only if you're looking for a familiar sound.
