While Low End Theory brought the fat bass, jazzy styles, and great lyrics, this album has a classic feel behind every single song that gives me the chills every time I re-take the trip. God Lives Through has to be in the top 10 greatest hip-hop songs of all time, no doubt. OH MY GOD YES OH MY GOD.

Again, an incredibly impressive record coming from Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. It's a little more raw whereas Low End Theory was more chill. Which is why I like their sophomore record the most. Still, a damn fine record.

Baby's first rap album. Between this and Low End Theory I had a pretty good introduction to rap music I'd say. Tip and Phife trade perfectly, Muhammad provides slick bass as always, production handled as tastefully as the lyricism and flows. Is there a better rap album? Probably. But I'll die to Electric Relaxation and I refuse to have it any other way.

One of the very few hip hop albums I really like. Intelligent, mature, interesting not only in a way of lyrics, but also in a way of music. Huge atmosphere and overall superb listening. Very recommended for all open-minded and of course hip-hop fans.

And just when I thought they couldn't do better, they just did. Midnight Marauders is the logical progression from The Low End Theory. Although still keeping the minimalist build-up of bass, drums and samples, everything comes to it's right much more than on the previous album. Especially the samples get more attention on this album, which makes it a more diverse and maybe also more interesting album than is precedessor. When you're just getting into ATCQ I'd recommend this album first, but be sure to check out The Low End Theory as well.
