I don't think it's possible to dislike The Mixed Tape

Like a mixture of Relient K and Mae. It's a sweet pop/rock album with a delicious summer vibe,
although I would have preferred it kick the tempo up a notch here and there.

This is my favorite album of all time. I really enjoy the California beach vibe that's pretty well-sustained throughout the entire album and the piano being towards the front of the mix on tracks such as Dark Blue, I'm Ready and Holiday From Real. I could tell you how great every single one of the 11 tracks are but maybe you should just listen for yourself.

Music kinda like Weezer but the subject matter is better and the singer doesn't have an extremely punchable bitchface and the name 'Rivers.'

Upbeat and catchy songs with memorable hooks and infectious choruses. They all stand as fantastic pop/pop rock songs on their own, but mixed with Andrew McMahon's emotion and lyrics they become something meaningful and personal not just to him but also to the listener. It's an incredible gem of an album that will hold a special place to those that can easily fall in love with it.

The opening 3 tracks of Andrew McMahon's solo project are so incredible, it's almost a shame to rate the album anything lower than a 4.5. Sadly, 'Everything In Transit' can't rsustain the sheer greatness of the initial ten minutes for 11 tracks. The remaining half hour of music is good, if melodically weak, but one can't help but wonder what could have rbeen if every track was of the same quality as "Bruised."
