The best metalcore album of all-time. Unearth had high expectations and blasted them. This album is amazing with Susi's rhythm, McGrath's lead. The drumming is amazing and it really helps the songs and Phipps' lyrics are amazing and he really brings you into the song. Amazing

Its funny that people are throwing a perfect 5 rating at this album so carelessly.
Honestly, I have the album, and I listen to it a lot. There are 3 songs on the album that I believe to be ABSOLUTELY unbelievable. That would be "This Glorious Nightmare", "Giles", and "Sanctity of Brothers".
But three awesome songs does not make an album perfect. There is a lot of recycling of riffs, and song structure and format. The singing is average, the bass is nothing special, and to be honest Im not impressed with the drumming.
To leave this post on a high note, the three tracks I mentioned are among the best heavy metal songs I've ever heard, period. Sanctity of Brothers has one of the best riffs ever written, and Giles and Glorious Nightmare is thrash metal at its peak of perfection.
I definitely would recommend this to any metalhead, there is definitely some unbelievable material on this cd, but if you're looking for a well-rounded, unique sounding cd that is trying to do something against the grain, this is not that cd.

I had this wrong, not sure what I was thinking. Maybe a misclick. This album was pretty refreshing because not many bands were really thrashing that much, and some of these tracks are serious bangers. And Giles remains fucking rad.

Unearth doing the exact same thing they did on The Oncoming Storm, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but they can only do the same thing for so long before it wears out its welcome.

I wouldnt give this a perfect 5 because that takes alot to get. This album however is very Good. Starts out Great with This glorious nightmare. giles and March of The mutes Are great songs as well. Ending with one of thier softer songs Big Bear and the Hour of Chaos.

This album is literally awesome, it alone gave metal music hope in 2006 as a awesome year. Not at all is there much I don't like at all about it. This is what makes Unearth one of the best in the metalcore genre. It never backs off on its continuous high quality and hardcore beats. It also never disappoints on any of its song. I can't say a favorite song because I really love this album and the effort that Unearth put in all of it.

I like this album a lot, but i think that their other album the oncoming storm was better. Other than that its a great metal album, good riffs and beats. They are very talented and i can't wait to buy more of their cd's.

Truly Unearth's best release to date. Their first album 'The Oncoming Storm' was a great start for the band as a whole and it really began to redefine metalcore in its entirety, but this album has definitely proven to go over the top in terms of its overall appeal. Not only does every song appeal to me personally, but the flow of the entire disc as a whole is just fantastic. The vocals alone are enough to capture you in the song, but the harmonies and leads and solos are just phenomenal. The drumming - much like the first album - is also one of the key factors to making this disc as great as it is. The band has progressed so much musically it is honestly almost sickening. Definitely worth listening to. 5 out of 5 for sure.
