Kate Bush's debut is not only a brilliant album but an incredible achievement, considering that she was younger than 20 years old when it was released and even younger when she wrote the songs. Being backed by almost the entire The Alan Parsons Project also played a role, as the music here has strong progressive leanings, while Kate's youthful voice provides an extra layer of charm. Overall, a consistently brilliant and atmospheric journey.

The song is one of the album's stand-out tracks. Great album to get a feel for the period it was released. Other tracks worth checking out on here are Strange Phenomena and Kite. Really though, any track of here can be picked up on it's own and enjoyed.

Yeah, so this is my favorite Kate Bush album. But it isn't like the rest of her stuff is that far behind. I'm glad she gained more creative control as she went along, though I think her songwriting was on point here.

Affectionate as much as it is intoxicating, English songstress Kate Bush's debut full-length album is pretty remarkable when you take into consideration that she was 19 years old at the time of this record's release; granted, that's nothing unheard of these days, but dishing out something like this at a young age back then certainly proved admirable. The Kick Inside relies quite a lot on Kate's soaring vocal deliveries, and in that regard, the album's an effective one. While I am a bit miffed at the lack of diversity here, the good outweighs the bad, so you best consider yourself in for a real treat. By the by, I'd say that it doesn't hurt that the record is easy to digest with its 42-minute runtime.
