Yes! The Shins F***ing own. They are the epitome of good music. They never write the same song twice and every album is different from the last. The Shins are underated in my opionion, but i think they're to nonchalant to care what people think. Past and Pending is such a brillant song and the best way they could have possibly ended this album. Stop arguing about Touche Amore n La Dispute n Defeater and just chill out. It's not worth wasting your life arguing about music. It's just something to help you enjoy life, maybe the shins will help you out. Nickelback does suck a whole lot of donkey wiener ill agree to that.

A)Reason I found out about this band- Garden Stater B) Reason I love this album- One of my first albums I ever owned, that pretty cool. 1. Since listening to this album again and again, then coming back to it. I still like it just as much as I did back then. 2. Switches between very fun pop songs to ballad-like songs. Think Caring is Creepy, New Slang, the Past and Pending; then Know Your Onion, Girl Inform Me, Past and Pending. 3. The only problem I have with this album is a weak midsection right after New Slang, starting with just a little bit "Girl on the Wing", and then "Your Algebra. But, it picks up with "Pressed in a Book", and leaves off with the amazing "Past and Pending".

Atomospheric, experimental and infectious 'Oh, Inverted World' is an easy way to while away 33.3 minutes. Taking notes from 60's psychodelic pop, The Shins craft a style that doesn't detract from their influences and still sounds fresh and new. Their brand of indie music is a welcome change when the charts are saturated with Jet, The Kilers et al.
An album full of great instrumentation, exceptional melodies and great lyrics, once you figure out what the hell they are actualy about, this is well worth buying, or in fact 'buying', and allthough not at the level of a Beatles or Beach Boys record, it is a modern day progression of the genre. It would also be interesting to see what The Shins would offer if they had a band to spar with, as Their 60's contemporaries often did, to better and get the better of one another.
