Bloc Party finally give us the official sequel to Silent Alarm, and it's a whiskey-soaked, grit in your teeth, fuzzed-out, party til you puke, high-octane speedway of an album. And it has balls, big fucking balls

There are some gems here and there, but unfortunately as a whole it just feels like a collection of songs versus a proper album. Good to hear Bloc Party together, it's just too bad this was all we got from the core band returning.

Bloc party have returned with 50% of their drive from silent alarm. Their mellow songs far outweigh their upbeat
tracks. Cut this album in half and it would've made a killer ep.And - how is this/intimacy superior to silent alarm?

I'll admit I'm still in the midst of new love and I may/may not lower the rating in due time, but as it stands this certainly holds up to Intimacy and Silent Alarm, if not quite as good as Weekend. For the record, Silent Alarm is my least favourite.

First comment here. rDoes anyone else think this album flows terribly? It goes from slow to heavy, fast to slow, song after song. This album would be so much better if they re arranged the songs so they flowed.
