The album has less flair than its predecessor, instead incorporating some industrial, nihilistic-sounding themes and being more misanthropic overall than P.E.Misanthropia, ironically enough.

One of the most over-the-top and overproduced BM releases I ever heard, not even to mention the sell-out aspect... The only saving grace might have been ICS Vortex, but even his vocals are sparse and burried deeply in the mix. Shame!

The band's most ambitious and elaborate album has less bite but the prominent atmosphere works very well, meaning the amount of people it engages will be equal to the amount it turns off.

I got this album after watching the Progenies video and well.... I was a little disappointed. It's brutal, there's no doubting that and Progenies (minus the second verse) is a pinnacle of sorts as far as metal goes IMO but the overall album is a little more droning. Maybe my opinion here stems from the fact that I don't listen to a lot of extreme metal, but I felt that the production let down the album a lot. I heard very little lower end bass frequencies making distortion just seem like noise instead of heavy and as such all the tracks began to sound alike. But it does have its positives too of which some are the brilliant use of symphony to add to the "brutal"-ity of the songs, Shagrath's vocals and the technical yet melodic (most of the times anyway) instrumentation; this album, in the end, holds the distinction of making me revisit a set of genres I had shunned as meaningless noise.
