I hate the drums and overall production on this album - BUT there is a 'spirit' and 'madness' to this album which makes it very entertainingly and evilly raw - which is good. Also, I dig the vocals on this record. However, there are other albums that do aggressive thrash better (Incubus) This gets placed in Thrash Slab

Pretty much what GamamJ said. Only the vocals are kinda not exactly my taste, but... the riffs man, the riffs!!!

In typical death/thrash fashion, this album has negative amounts of chill. The reverb-laden mix combined with neverending double-bass will thrash your eardrums to death. Just a non-stop 32 minute thrashing.

"Spectrum of Death" gets a lot of love from Thrash fans, and that's pretty fair as Morbid Saint managed to create a huge fan base with only one record. The quality is there and the inspiration goes hand in hand. It is clear that the band has taken away much of their creative ability from the little production they had to develop the songs, and this gives more credit to these guys.

A monumental achievement in the realm of thrash AND death metal, Spectrum of Death was one of the earliest albums to blur the line between said respective genres, and unlike some of the more calculated efforts of both genres, the riffs, tempos, and breakdowns are organic and have a terrific flow and variety. This is backed up by dirty yet gritty, bottom-heavy production, outstanding, evil vocals and terrific guitar work (every song has memorable riffs and solos). "Assasin" is the true highlight here, constantly changing tempo and leaving behind some really terrific solos, riffs, and appropriately violent lyrics. One of the genre's greatest hidden gems by any stretch.
