Sounds like Black Metal...not much more, nothing less. And the more comes from slight industrial/synth sounds, which for the most part, come across as irritating buzzing.

To long-time Nachtmystium fans the sound of this album may very well be quite the shocker because it is, after all, a pretty standard black metal album in both sound and execution (which is mainly shown through the means of a very fuzzy production). Still, influences from various genres, ranging from post-punk to doom metal can be found in a lot of these tracks and the band still have a knack for writing catchy music. SM is sadly not Black Meddle pt. III but it's still a very solid addition to their discography.
