This album is awful. There's nothing wrong with trying new things, but a band like Helloween just can't do it. This is their attempt at proggy pop music, and they just fail. Michael Kiske's voice sucks, the guitars are gay, and Ingo isn't even on this album. This album is just garbage!!! THIS IS NOT METAL!

Ok, let's be honest here. Yes, this is Helloween's least metal record. In fact, this is barely metal at all, only 2 songs sound even close to heavy metal...And I think this bias has led to some unnecessarily harsh reviews. If you past the fact that this isn't a metal record by a metal band, and objectively look at it...it's not that bad...songs like First Time, Crazy Cat, Longing, and When The Sinner are all awesome songs. I throughly enjoy this record but it took me a long time to get into it. In fact....THIS ISNT MY LEAST FAVORITE HELLOWEEN RECORD! I love this album and see it for what is...an experimental acoustic rock record.

A misunderstood misstep. Sure it doesn't come close to capturing what fans expected from Helloween, but if taken on its own turf it is a fun jazzy metal album. Tracks like "Crazy Cat" and "When the Sinner" are filled with fun groovy horns that only add to the experience.

A controversial album whose best cuts will forever be associated with the offputting slowjams which ruined Helloween's reputation. rRecommended Songs - First Time. Crazy Cat, Giants, Revolution Now and especially When the Sinner. The rest is skippable but those 5 remain underrated pop gems from a band struggling to find its image without Kai and trying to experiment.

Chameleon is an album unfairly reviled by "fans". While there are unquestionably a couple of duds (In The Night is probably the worst song on the album by a mile), there are a lot of great ones. First Time, Giants, I Believe, Longing, all great songs that deserve to be in Helloween's repertoire. Fans of bands always want them to release the same album all the time, and this was a nice switch. I have always been a fan of this album, and I will probably always be one.

First Time and I Believe are somewhat decent, but Giants was the only really good song off the album. It's interesting that the band chose to experiment, but the album would be much better if it had an equal balance between soft ballads and heavier songs.
