Ugh, so this is good. The band (so very obviously) endeavors to make cathartic, touching, and deep music. For the most part, they accomplish that goal to a certain extent, primarily with the lyrics and secondarily with the instruments. However, they have a lot going against them. First, the vocals are incredibly nondescript, possibly being a turnoff for some. Perhaps most importantly the production is very poor, making it rather difficult to take this seriously and keep it from being a snoozefest (despite the fact this EP is like 10 minutes in length). The last track, Freemasons, sounds very much like Devil and God-era Brand New, particularly of You Won't Know except it is much less dramatic and therefore much more boring.
