Easily Cake's most addictive release. The opening trumpet melody on "Opera Singer" shows listeners what to expect. While there are some strange choices in terms of mixing on the title track, the rest of the album remains rock solid. "Love You Madly", "Shadow Stabbing", "Short Skirt / Long Jacket" and the title track are all fantastic.

It's always a little awkward listening to this album. With the flamboyant music (never missing a moment to utilize a horn section), and the monotone singer always off beat, with the weird intonation, and constantly straddling the line between singing and spoken word. However, despite all that, everything gels so well and meshes to make a great album. It's quirky and it's fun, and no matter what the hell a songs about, it always begs you to try and sing along.
