some hard hits and heavy parts to hear on the cd.... no reason is a hard good song that i like.

Even though I'm typically cemented in hardcore, I cannot rag on this cd. It has catchy guitar riffs, quick and fun guitar solos, gang vocals (No Reason), breakdowns (I'm Not The One) and countless other aspects that keep this cd fresh and new. It's still one of my favorite pop-punk releases because it implements the best parts to other genres and does not come off as cheesy. The lyrics are nothing spectacular, but who cares? I know I most certainly don't

I don't think it's even possible for Sum 41 to get any better than this. This album is an honest masterpiece. It really shows that they were trying to keep Dave (the lead guitarist) in the band by changing their sound, but surprisingly, their sound VASTLY improved! The guitar lines are great for radio rock, and the lyrics couldn't have been better written. Songs like, "We're All To Blame", with its bipolar mood really show that Sum 41 can still keep a 'softer' side but at the same time, trash when needed. There are tons of other great songs, such as "No Reason" "Pieces" "I'm Not the One" and especially the closer, "88." If anything, this album helped push Sum 41 into all eyes as both a mainstream band and a talented one.

One of my all-time favorites to listen to all the way through. This is pop-punk at it's heaviest and best. The message, whether the band is passionate about it or not, is real, and the album features some of the best new-milennium punk I've heard thus far.

From the hard-hitting No Reason to the awesome 88, this album just crushes you like a bulldozer out of control. Their heavier sound simply kicks ass, and their softer stuff is also quite great. The instrumentals are great, and Deryck is at his best vocally here. Definitely a worth it album.

Only Sum 41 album I really still listen to. Its more metal influenced yet mixes it with the pop punk influences from previous albums. Some of the acoustic,slower work shows another side of the band as well. In my opinion this is the band's best album.

This is Sum 41's BEST album. This is where they needed to stay musically. They matured enough! I was a little disappointed with Underclass Hero because, while still being a good album, I was expecting something like Chuck again. Chuck was metal, punk, alternative, it was everything on one album. I would DEFINITELY like to see more of Chuck in the future.

This album simply expels any thought that this band is jus another pop punk band. This is a very mature album from Sum 41, and they are taking a huge step from 'Half Hour of Power' and 'All Killer No Filler'. There are still elements from these albums, but Chuck also displays Sum 41's metal influences more clearly. Favourite Songs: No Reason, Welcome To Hell, Pieces, 88.

This album takes all the elements from previous albums, from the more metal of some of the "Half Hour of Power" songs to the more pop-punk attitude of "All Killer no Filler", and then adds a new dimension of songs that have not been played by Sum 41 before. For example, The Bitter End sounds like Metallica, and Slipping Away seems to have been influenced by Avril Lavigne, Deryck's fiancee.rOverall, the push in the new direction comes across as something new for Sum 41, which is pretty enjoyable, despite a few songs (Slipping Away), that just aren't worth the listen.

Sum 41 trying to ride the wave of what was popular at the time. All this album does is making me want to jam Linkin Park. I'll concede 1 is a really cool intro track, and 2 with its kinda rise against vibe is super fun, and at that point I was pumped about this album. Sadly 3 gets more cringe and is quite meh although not truly horrible. 4 is the first track to really show the LP-worship going on here - the issue is that S41 never do it better than LP, so you just want to jam LP if you like them. 5 takes more from Oasis, 6 goes a bit harder and shreds and sounds like thrash and so I don't like it. 7 is quite LPey again and still meh, although they try to differentiate themselves a bit more here - still nice to have a softer break on 8 afterwards. 9 is pop LP wiht a dumb breakdown, 10 is dumb okay pop punk, 11-12 are very milquetoast nu-metal/pop punk, but finally 13 wakes us up with its fun intro and is simple and efficient with a surprising unfold into a good song I like... until they add a stupid breakdown with shreddy shredders. 14 has a fun intro too, and whilst it is run of the mill pop punk these last few tracks redeem the album a bit. A bit only. Most of it was done much better by other people. 2.9

Loved this album first i heard it, rocks so hard. Got tired of a couple songs after a while but found the bonus tracks and it restored by love for this album in it's entirety. Open your eyes and subject to change are the two best songs on this album. 5 cause it IS a fucking classic

Sum 41's most polished record. The production is good and "We Are All to Blame" is easily their most ambitious, and best, song to date. However, the record leans on pop music cliches as a crutch ("Some Say," "Pieces"), and the latter half is just bad.

While still unanimously a pop punk band at heart, Sum 41 took the time to run through a more serious route and amped up a little of a metallic influence, which became the result of their third full-length album Chuck. Packed with anthemic choruses a plenty and trite, yet to-the-point lyrical themes, the record has quite the lasting appeal; not enough to be an instant grower - especially for fans who grew up on Sum 41's humorous side - but Chuck has enough of it to keep the dogs at bay.

The only good tracks are the intro, "all to blame", "pieces", and "no reason". I highly recommended just downloading those tracks, rather than buying the whole album. Like every other Sum 41 album, there's a few good singles and a bunch of filler. Most of this album is pure garbage, even worse than DTLI.

Sum 41 tackling their serious, somewhat more in-depth side brings some rather effective material out. Occasionally calm, other times frantic and generally malcontent in tone, Chuck proves to be a good means to help vent general frustrations without hitting the metal fence.

they do mix many elements of metal, punk and other genres, but i just didint like the sound as much as i did the other albums. i did like that each album got harder and harder. but they went back to straight up punk after losing the main metal supporter of their group (dave brown sound). underclass hero brought them back to the popularity level they were at with all killer no filler
