 | Keyblade That new Vindensang is the s*** huh
 | Keyblade Wow that's exactly how I was hoping it would sound. Sweeeeeeeeeeet
 | Keyblade No, I completely forgot about it haha thanks for reminding me. I can tell from your rating it's gonna be sweet. What's it sound like?
 | Keyblade Yeah bro, they're amazing. New one's growing on me too.
 | DarkNoctus the first 2 tracks of give me beauty are like 5/5 but it fades out really fast, ceremonies is great from start to finish
 | mindleviticus I'm gonna get that now actually thanks for reminding me!!
 | mindleviticus I've actually never listened to I am Robot and Proud but Tim Hecker's new album is godly.
 | mindleviticus sounds really ****ing solid dude :] thanks for reminding me!
 | OmairSh If by make babies you mean sexual intercourse, then absolutely
 | Kman418 you're my favorite user except for maybe vermicide
 | mindleviticus Yeah I heard a bit of the west, thought it was unique, and the civil war from what I heard was pretty good. I just love the s*** out of Supreme Balloon
 | Keyblade It was supposed to come out this time last year. Been waiting for a whole year haha.
 | LocustGrove Ohhhhhhh you really showed me. A complete stranger on the internet doesnt like my review...what will I do?? Life has now lost all meaning. Fade to black.
 | Keyblade FINALLY THE ELK CAME OUT. Thank god for the soundoff section, I can't wait to jam dude omg
 | CK My God... that Vallendusk album is amazing. I am not totally sure how I feel about the production just yet (I typically like my black metal cold and raw to an extent) but the music is phenomenal
 | sixdegrees yeah probably not since you got your ratingz wiped HA
 | DecayingMajesty Hi dude.I listen to that m83 album you recd me.It was really good. I gave it a 4.5. My fav track was gone. Wbu :)
 | NarkalepticNinja haha yea i can understand that, just saw that and irked me a little. but it is all good. see ya around
 | NarkalepticNinja Hey man, sorry, just looked like it to me. Considering all the 1's or 1.5's I saw were for all Christian Black Metal bands and rated on the same day. My bad, just looked that way to me
 | Keyblade Yeah? I'll keep that in mind, thanks man.
 | Keyblade Yeah man it's been ridiculous. I'll check out that Appalachian Winter rec, sounds like it's gonna be sweet. Cheers man.
 | Keyblade Oh snap is that this year? Goddamn we're spoiled.
 | Mister Twister metalcore isn't metalmetalcore isn't metalmetalcore isn't metalmetalcore isn't metalmetalcore isn't metalmetalcore isn't metalmetalcore isn't metalmetalcore isn't metal
 | Shuyin no seriously, my net has been down and ive noticed today that the album had leaked, for some reason its working just fine now. downloading hard!
 | Shuyin ive checked sunbather! its my favorite album ever!!!!!
 | DieVermFauxIllusions I'm a veteran of anti swag armies, they called me the7h warrior, vermicide the great
 | DirtyDan Have you heard the album "Griseus" by Aquilus? You would love it. I just ordered a CD before it sold out.
 | DirtyDan I actually don't remember talking about them. I just noticed a severe lack of Mournful Congregation on your ratings list. But I'm glad the situation has been resolved. That was close.
 | DirtyDan You need more Mournful Congregation in your ratings!
 | DirtyDan Havent heard it but I have never heard anything you reccomend. Sounds interesting though.
 | DirtyDan Echoes of Battle by Caladan Brood and The Quietest Place on Earth by We Lost The Sea
 | DirtyDan Every time I find an album that I would reccomend to you, you have already rated it. How do you already know everything? And as always your taste in music is impeccable.
 | oltnabrick If I got to know you, I would invite you over for a romantic dinner and as soon as you arrived, I would pull you close and whisper in your ear "I have a swanson tv dinner in the freezer with your name on it" and then I would proceed to fill a wine glass with welch's grape juice.
 | DirtyDan I've been so busy with school ending soon that I haven't had much time to find new stuff but I'm going to be free soon.
 | DirtyDan Hey man its been awhile. Listen to anything good lately in the metal or post rock vein?
 | DirtyDan Actually I have never heard of them but I just listened to the song "I Was Never There" and it was pretty awesome. Thanks for another good rec man.
 | Hawks Nope haven't had the chance yet.
 | Kman418 I'll look into it now, thanks man. Been getting more into glitch recently, you should make a glitch list or something since the genre is seriously under appreciated around here
 | Hawks So far it's Caladan Brood's album. Darkthrone isn't far behind either.
 | Mike08 I'm all ears on the recs.
 | LilLioness Hey, it is all good. :D I don't much care for peeps who may try to act they are above releases like this because of whatever contrived "it doesn't surprise me" stuff. It didn't quite reach my great list, but it came close.
 | Mike08 Thank you for introducing the band to me.
 | Keyblade if you have a last.fm, just pm it to me man
 | LilLioness I listened to Encircling Sea. It is pretty good. It could benefit from being cut into smaller tracks, though.
 | Gnocchi It's been in existence for close to a week now, so you'll auto be staff and high rank if you accept : ]
 | Gnocchi m/ we cover all genres, new an old releases, news streams interviews etc.
 | Gnocchi I have staff positions available on my site.
 | Gnocchi hey dude, have you ever considered writing at a staff level, if so email me: robert.garland@outlook.com
 | Wizard Don't get me wrong, I really do appreciate you showing me some stuff that I might be interested in.
 | Wizard 65 and 69 are a waste of hard drive, 72 shouldn't even be on this list, 73, 80 is my aoty, 81 has always been mediocre. I've listened to quite a bit this year.
 | Wizard 39 and 22 are the same with a different rating lol and new Amorphis is terrible. And you have ALOT of post metal stuff I wouldn't touch with a 1000 ft. pole, really picky genre for me. All the krieg stuff on your list I've heard (3,6,7,8 and 9 were s***,10,13,14,15,25 and 26 were boring, 31 plus band has always been mediocre, 37 was a wtf is this crap, 40 was awesome, 41 was terrible, 45, 48 and 49 were huge disappointments, 52 was a letdown, 56, 63, 64 I love and it's not even metal
 | LilLioness I checked out Skagos. It started strong, but lost momentum for me over time. I think overall it is a decent album.
 | LilLioness Yeah, vox usually don't make or break it for me, but there are some exceptions (like indie peeps who pronounce sharp consonants over a white-person-playing-acoutsic-guitar melody. Ugh, that s*** makes me insane. I shall check those three after I finally rate Diadem and jawbox and Haenein and Dilute and reviews smohalla/omega centauri. xD
 | DirtyDan Don't know them but I'll check them out for sure
 | DirtyDan You don't really get any better than Warning and Pallbearer. I really like Stoned Jesus so hopefully you do too.
 | LilLioness I checked Pale Folklore. Idk, something about his vocals has made it hard for me. There are points where I start getting into it, but the vox keep curving my interest. Also, I saw your 1 for Black out the Sun. XD It is funny going from my glowing shout to your SRSLY? shout.
 | RadicalEd thx. Listen to Blue Sky Black Death ~ Noir. It's amazing.
 | DirtyDan Pallbearer is a really unique band, but some artist with similar qualities are While Heaven Wept, YOB, Doomshine, Serpent Venom, Stoned Jesus, and Reverend Bizarre. None of these are extremely similar to Pallbearer or Warning but I'm sure you will find something you like.
 | CrimsonLies Yeah filestube surprises me sometimes when I can find some pretty obscure stuff, baring in mind that not all links work but it's definitely handy. I also search on google by typing in the format I want (like x band 320) but I've never used soulseek before so I'll bookmark that myself. There's also an app for turbogalaxy, it's handy if you use google chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/torrent-turbo-search-app/eegbffmjdkflkcfncpfjjbggbdlnbdif?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon Cheers
 | Spec Alright sweet. I'm checkin' Warning for the time being, i'll probably move onto that at some point. Thank ya.
 | DirtyDan Along with Ophis check out Graveyard Dirt. They are another band with a similar style to Mourning Beloveth. I also think they are Irish like MB.
 | CrimsonLies No problem man, to be honest I just used filestube, it's very useful for finding rar files. Also http://turbogalaxy.org/ makes things easier, it's basically a torrent search engine. And there's a few other ways but I'm sure you already know them.
 | LilLioness I hope so. I could totally go for some more of that level of awesomeness. Also, I kinda have another thing I have come across that I really like (although not as much as Black Mare).
 | CrimsonLies Here you go http://d01.megashares.com/index.php?d01=XOjLFCF
 | StrangerofSorts Mhmm, had it for about a week now. Don't know why they handed out review copies so early but hell I'm not going to complain.
 | Spec I'm sure I will.
 | DirtyDan Since you like Mourning Beloveth you should check out Ophis. They have almost the exact same style.
 | InbredJed Wheel of Time, that's it for sure! Certainly very apt, considering Chi's passing
 | mindleviticus The Ritual Fires of Abandonment? I was gonna listen to that later tonight. =D I'll check that one out. And I wasn't deterred by the production I just wasn't really interested in some songs.
 | someguest I hear the cries of a sad Internet man far in the distance. He's pleading for a life. He wants to have sex, and leave his familiar dwelling of the mother's basement, but he can't find the way.
 | mindleviticus Hey man I found an album you might like: check out Karsten Pflum - Idhax. Cheers!
 | InbredJed "Death is lighter than a feather, life is heavier than a mountain"I totally recognize that, where is that from?
 | Shuyin word, i think the new The Ocean is gonna be awesome too. all of these guys are really making up for the latest Neurosis which was sorta disappointing imo. it wasnt a bad album, i guess i was expecting something phenomenal from them. have you heard the unreleased MotA track 'how this will end'? it was amazing and got me so pumped for this new release
 | Shuyin hey hey! youre looking forward for the new MotA too, its gonna be my aoty for sure.. ive got high hopes for that one since Quietly is my all time favorite album
 | LilLioness Eh, I wouldn't call it a personal problem. We are all just wired different ways. I really get into the humorous curveballs of the likes of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Patton, Devin Townsend, etc. It all comes down to what we as individuals identify with. Goth would never have had an audience if there weren't people who honestly thought/think that the meshing of punk and new wave and synthpop and baritone-bass vocals sounds good.
 | LilLioness If I remember correctly, it is either B (moog, female screeches) saying it or it is from a movie (like Evil Dead). Judging by your criteria, many albums fall short. I have heard many that do not end on a high note. For me, Ki (DTP), Fables from a Mayfly (Fair to Midland), Mezzanine, Sound Awake, Short Bus, Audioslave all end on their strongest note, but still it is rare.
 | LilLioness http://blackmare.bandcamp.com/album/field-of-the-host If you have a chance, check this out. I became aware of her a few months back through Cvltnation and have been digging her stuff since. It is just over a half hour and each song is just under a 5 for me. Very few artists are this continuously good sounding to me.
 | LilLioness I checked Malevolent Grain and liked it. Jamie Myers adds a lot to the first track. I listened to Diadem of 12 stars once and need to sit down to it again. Interesting, your thoughts on Rwake. I find that outro mildly amusing when juxtaposed to the rest of that specific track, given its genuinely unsettling nature. I think "Lure of Light" may be one of my all time fav metal songs.
 | DirtyDan Set Fire To Flames and Thee Silver Mt. Zion were what I was looking for. Thee Silver Mt. Zion's most recent album is really good. Don't see why its rated the lowest. Must be because they changed their sound. Regardless I am really enjoying it.
 | DirtyDan I just saw your post-rock list and read the discussion. People were flipping s*** over the title lol. And it looks like your list will help me find some good stuff. Thanks for saving me the time bro.
 | DirtyDan Some post-rock with vocals...sounds good. I feel vocals are usually an important part of music and wish more post-rock bands used them, even if only sparingly.
 | apert what you're not gonna teach me?
 | apert hahahahahahahahahahaha, **** your insults are so good you should teach me to be as funny and original as you. maybe then i can learn what long words mean as well.
 | apert lol, how was i racist? Congrats btw of some of the most retarded posts i've ever seen on sputnik
 | ILJ thought you were referring to a specific time frame. and there were at least two other people saying you were retarded for your comment, and yet you chose to go after me and not them. relax man, i didn't mean to be offensive and such. and i apologize if it did seem like i was racially attacking you, i'm not like that at all.
 | ILJ i wasn't racially attacking you. lot of people use "nigga" like "bro" which is what i was using it as. as i said, it's just the internet, there's no reason to go into a rage fit about something. and my reasoning was not "erroneous" because you said "the dark ages" which is generally only used when referring to the specific period of time, and you played semantics by saying "well i would've capitalized it if i meant it." if you didn't mean it, then that's fine, but it's not "erroneous" that i
 | ILJ no, i thought you had meant the specific time frame and i made a simple statement of fact. you could have clarified and left the conversation there and nobody would have thought that i was "standing on your corpse" you need to chill out dawg. it's just the internet.
 | ILJ lol did you even read my original post? i'm agnostic. my only "faith" is that there probably is a higher power. and lol at feeling the need to take it to the shoutbox.
 | DirtyDan I take that back. Pelican is more than just solid and I really need to get some of their stuff.
 | DirtyDan Ok I've listened to a few songs from each album and the Red Sparowes album was the only one I liked from the post-rock you reccomended. And I liked all the post-metal stuff. Nothing was mindblowing but it was solid.
 | DirtyDan Yeah I'm more aware of post-metal bands. I know Pelican and Russian Circles. And I will check some of these bands out when I have time.
 | DirtyDan And I'd prefer darker post-rock not the pop type if you know what I mean.
 | DirtyDan Can't say I listen to a lot of neofolk but I like folk influences in bands like Agalloch. And in post-rock I really like GY!BE, This Will Destroy You, and MONO. What other good stuff like that is there?
 | DirtyDan Yeah I isten to mainly metal but have been getting into post-rock a lot recently. And I'll check out Of the Wand and the Moon.
 | DirtyDan 40 Watt Sun is great but I think Pallbearer is better. And our tastes are very similar. The more we talk the more I see that. I just don't get into the electronic type stuff. But your taste in metal music is great.
 | DarkNoctus perhaps using a ! rather than a . would have made the joke a bit more obvious, yes. i originally thought you were just hopping on the 'noctus hate' bandwagon with a far more venomous tone but i guess i was wrong about that. but it's best not to worry about that now, i really do hope to see more reviews from you and to see you around the place. [:
 | LilLioness I will start with Pale Folklore and Diadem of the Twelve Stars, then. :)
 | DirtyDan Dfinitely go for 40 Watt Sun. Thats some good stuff. And if you like that try Pallbearer if you haven't already. Highly recommended.
 | LilLioness I am sure you have noticed Abigail Williams in my fives and I have heard people complain that that album is a WIITR rip-off so it sounds like a good place to start indeed. From what I have heard of Agalloch, it is hit or miss, but they do seem to do some really gorgeous/coarse stuff.
 | DirtyDan People usually like Sullen better but I think Disease is much better. And Swallow the Sun is the only band that rivals Mourning Beloveth in death/doom imo.
 | DarkNoctus you don't need to worry too much, i mean occasionally people like me will read it the wrong way or read it at the wrong time and thus take it wrongly but it's kind of a pattern here that i wish would die out. not you in particular but it's slowly really making my desire to stay here wear out. anyway, thanks for coming to me directly, it shows you have a lot of decency and i really appreciate that. it's something that goes pretty unnoticed nowadays.
 | DirtyDan And I see you like Mourning Beloveth too. Nice. I'm debating whether to give A Disease for the Ages a 5. The song The Sickness alone almost warrants a 5 for the entire album.
 | DirtyDan Definitely give it another listen. In my opinion it is the best funeral doom album ever but I know it has mixed reviews. The Catechism of Depression is just so good.
 | DarkNoctus i don't dislike you at all, i was just having a s***ty couple of days. i'm sorry i took what you said so personally.
 | LilLioness Actually, I was introduced to Ash Borer through the track that was shared Cvltnation in February. I can't say I am much more into extended crusty jams than you and so it makes sense that I am not all that well-versed in stuff that is essentially as underground as a band could be without having already broken up.
 | DarkNoctus you responded to one of my points with something you know is beyond stupid. it's like saying you have to be a professional chef to describe what something tastes like. being honest though i took what you said more to heart than i should have, i was having a s***ty day so i let everything get to me more than it should have, so i'm sorry about that.
 | Kman418 Oh yeah btw where did you find Twine's other albums? Cause I've been looking for them for a while and I can't find them anywhere
 | DarkNoctus hahaha i like how you're sorry that i took it personally and not sorry that you said something s***ty. it wasn't even that that bugged me, it was the fact you totally ignored almost everything in my post.
 | DirtyDan Yeah I just meant there were Agalloch influences. Anyway you seem pretty cool and have a good taste in music.
 | stabbler yo man - i bought eye of every storm the week it came out. i've listened to it enough, but cheers for the encouragement
 | DirtyDan And btw I do agree that your review could be improved upon a bit but it got me interested immediately which is what it should do so I said it was well written.
 | DirtyDan Thanks for introducing me to Encircling Sea. They really are great. And I don't see how people don't see any Agalloch influences. The first two bands I thought of were Agalloch and WITTR while listening to this album. Maybe I'm just crazy.
 | Kman418 But yeah I was also tired as **** when I was reading that so I wasn't really thinking stuff out too well, so it wasn't all your fault anywho
 | Kman418 Oh lol no problem then man, I get you. Don't worry about it then, we're cool :] sorry for the misunderstanding tho
 | DarkNoctus different strokes. i don't see why my rating has any bearing on the criticism though, even if i had given it a 5 i would have given you the same criticism that your review was really undescriptive. you're by no means a bad reviewer but it just needed more work, that's all.
 | Keyblade niiice no prob man. check out bloweyelashwish as well. absolutely love that band. it's like my 2 favorite genres shoegaze and ambient in one.
 | LilLioness Yeah, so far it has pretty much just been Pelican and Caspian which I recognize aren't necessarily terrific representations of the genre. I did hear a Mouth of the Architect track a while back that I liked so I will probably check them out anyway. Oh, how is the new Ash Borer? I have only heard one track from it so far.
 | Keyblade I've been listening to fen since they put out the debut too. got a soft spot in my heart for that band. helped me get into bm all those years ago. I haven't really spun the new one since it came out...need to go back to it. I remember Hand of Dust being stellar
 | CaptainDooRight thanks for that awesome rating bro! It's greatly appreciated
 | geasoftime thx mystery ? guy. I think you're pretty good yourself.
 | ur a light 3
 | zaruyache I've downloaded the new Encircling Sea but it hasn't seemed that interesting to me. Decent, but just more Cascadian stuff. I'll try listening through it again tonight, though, and also go through the rest of the stuff you listed!
 | silentpotato disgusting to some people in the name of doing/saying something that i think these days needs to be said. thats my little rant about that :p, i really appreciate you listening and the criticism is super welcome (i study visual arts in school so im used to being critiqued and dont get offended easily because of it) and i thank you for being honest and sharing your feelings! all feedback is good.
 | silentpotato fluid and comforting. i want sections to be abrasive and make the listener uncomfortable and evoke both positive and negative emotions because thats how i think art should be, it should make u feel the whole spectrum not just the easy to digest aspects. so yeah thats why i say my music will probably remain the same in that way because im stubbornly dead set on retaining my creative process regardless of whether or not it is divisive. im ok with being selectively appealing and downright
 | silentpotato section that is supposed to be loud, i record it ****ING LOUD and embrace all of the clipping, feedback, or distortion that happens to come with. if its supposed to be quiet, i record it quiet. i use a minimal amount of takes for all sections because i embrace all the little flaws and **** ups such as plucking a string wrong or falling out of time briefly because it makes it human. and i engage in transitions that are sporadic and abrupt because i dont want my music to be constantly
 | silentpotato do intentionally and am always conscious of when i record. i have a pact with myself to always stay true to my own creative process, and that creative process has arisen from my own discontent with modern recording techniques and 'faux pas'. everything has to be clear and clean to the point that it sounds sterile, everything has to be smooth and fluid, and everything has to be on queue to the point that it sounds mechanical. thus my approach to music contradicts all of these notions. a
 | silentpotato haha sall good dude thats exactly what i thought u were talking about just wanted to make sure. im fully aware of that sloppyness and 'forced' (id prefer to use the word 'abrupt' due to the intentionality of those transitions) transitions alongside other 'flaws' such as elements weaving in and out of time/tempo and the occasional clipping. its kind of a dangerous zone to tread as i know incorporating these things into my music is bound to always be fairly divisive but its something i
 | zaruyache Metal genre is best genre, yes. A lot of my anticipated metal albums haven't even been released yet, so I'm just going to hope that what you're seeing is because of that :]
 | zaruyache That wouldn't surprise me. Pretty much nobody noticed the new Fauna, either, and that record also slays. Their loss, though.
 | silentpotato cheers for the listen to hain-ba man. would like to ask for your elaboration on 'attention to detail tho'. pretty sure i know exactly what your talking about but want to make sure before i comment and tell you that that will probably never happen :p.
 | zaruyache Fell Voices should be hitting the net any time now. It's up for order on the European site. Soooo cloooosee......
 | Aids I wasn't blowing you off, I was planning on responding to it, I just wasn't in the mood to yet. It's fine man, it's good to have this sort of discussion. We've actually kept it pretty civil, which I think is good. Anyway I respect your opinion and that you took the time to have a conversation with me about it. Enjoy that steak bro, hit me up if you want some of these delicious chick peas!
 | ViperAces im just wondering, does it mean nothing, or does it mean the word 'nothing'?
 | Gnocchi what do you mean? i need to it though
 | Kman418 Oh yeah I was just checking out Saccharine Morning (couldn't find a DL but I was able to stream it through bandcamp) and Endless Summer last night, they're both awesome. Thanks for the sweet recs :]
 | zaruyache New Fell Voices shouldn't be late; it's to come out when they tour Europe, which doesn't start till the end of the month.
 | Deathconscious Well I just tried again this morning and it's working now. Weird. Thanks again for helping me out.
 | Deathconscious Ok, I downloaded it and made an account, same name as this one.
 | Kman418 ...Ok holy **** after just one listen this is already almost a 5 for me, damn. If you don't mind, could you give me some more recs like this (glitch I guess? Idk I'm a noob when it comes to electronic sub genres)? Cause this is just... Wow
 | Kman418 uhh... for some reason it's saying the software won't work because of some issue with my router (I haven't use this before now btw). Would you be cool with uploading it to like 2shared or Mediafire or something?
 | mindleviticus http://mmmlele.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/r-413309-1159785524.jpeg - has my favorite album cover of all time. It's so simplistic yet so beautiful and deep
 | mindleviticus http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/51427/Marc-Leclair-Musique-Pour-3-Femmes-Enceintes/ - You might really like this if you're into a mixture of glitch, idm, minimal techno and ambient :] It's one of my favorite albums !
 | Kman418 Would be much appreciated :]
 | Hyperion1001 dude do you know anything else that sounds like that spark album? its ****ing awesome and exactly the kind of idm i love
 | Keyblade you've got sweet taste bro, you need to post more
 | mindleviticus I was listening to some of it, and it sounded a bit odd. Will give it a proper listen soon though. You take care, bro. Spread some love here!
 | mindleviticus Yeah it is. How's the new Kattoo sound btw? I was gonna check it out when I got home from school.
 | Ignimbrite http://www.mediafire.com/?53vpc0ca38ky7ud
 | Havey realmofmetal.org. enjoy (or endure)
 | Havey lol good one, and i actually would've done it but now that the album has leaked it'll recieve lots of low ratings anyway
 | Havey remove darkthrone rating or die
 | Insurrection Hah no worries man I wasn't serious. Personally I love all Darkthrone but I can understand why people don't like the direction they took with their new albums. Nothing can beat their BM days.
 | Basman Thanx for the recs man!
