 | BaselineOOO If I have an ideological stance it is one that transcends mere identitarianism. Elevated societal constructs and erudition is what makes Europe Europa, all other details, dare I say, dissipate into the nebulous expanse like urine dispersed into torrential rain.
 | BaselineOOO The veritable essence of the West ethos lies not merely in the pursuit of novelty but rather in the relentless pursuit of excellence and refinement. Engaging in the art of appropriative refinement, akin to the transcendent pursuits of Scelsi or the intricate cultural shenanigans witnessed in the recent socio-economic development of Japan and South Korea, embodies a gesture of nobility and philanthropy that is fated to be misconstrued through envious lenses.
 | BaselineOOO w8 in your list it says that was I banned for racism when I hate all ethnicities equalie, I need lifetime ban

 | hal1ax sql is pretty boring and easy tbh, but its worth learning if you are trying to become more marketable (assuming you dont already work as DS). but yeah SQL is at the core of data engineering unfortunately. using pandas / pyspark is a lot more fun for data transformation.
 | hal1ax yea i have an annual sub to datacamp lol ive completed most of the courses. still need to get through a few though. and yeah i use mainly VS code since i can run sql queries, ipynb files, docker files, and bash scripts from the same place. and ah ok so you are more a data scientist , gotcha. thats the kind of stuff i was doing but now im looking to get more into actual data engineering. building data pipelines, learning apache software, etc.

 | xxm Your Fela Kuti review is simply brilliant.
 | JohnnyoftheWell original run is an obvious GOAT, subsequent efforts have been a long, slow race to the bottom but have their moments. she was better by far before her re-brand as an establishment figure

 | ethos am i http://youtu.be/yrvbsNlOtoA
 | Pon Cheers, will check it out soon. Also, is somnolence your alt? Just wondering.
 | Havey most of the time yea hbu
 | Havey i prefer bach on modern instruments, with few exceptions (like the english suites). the instruments of his time were limited but his genius wasn't; he himself transcribed many of his works to be played on multiple instruments, his music independent of the medium used. if we aim only for historically authentic/'correct' sound then we'd be confining him to his own period, and he wouldn't want that
 | ethos that's sweet i live in texas though so my temperate climate hums why'd you skip work to listen to- I ____ Ittytt AGAIINNNNN thats ~~~~~ I RR ESPON SIB, el.00.

 | Havey before i hop into bed i'll ask: have you acquainted yourself with either BWV 1001-1006 or 1014-1019 yet? this is some of my favorite music in the world right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1__pVSGoec
 | Havey id like to expand on it in more detail but i really gotta sleep, though *spoiler alert* i can't really put my finger on it (i have some thoughts though). i don't get the same feeling listening to the french suites, at least not to the same extent. haven't tried perahia's recordings of the english suites hmm, might be worth a look
 | Havey while most of bach's keyboard works are are rather well suited for piano interpretations, I can't seem to shake off the feeling that something is lost when the english suites are rendered on piano instead of the harpsichord. i still like them but
 | MisterTornado :O thanks - http://scissortail.bandcamp.com/album/the-hired-hand
 | Havey dam, i'll probably listen to them all, it'll be an adventure

 | treeqt. it's ****ing cold - _- just watched this fine swedish documentary : D http://www.tv6play.se/play/334479
 | Cygnatti it also comes off as though you are out to get them, out to denounce their religious claims/beliefs. which is really a double standard, it's a travesty when good/moral "christians" are being challenged but absolutely fair game when they do so against any other religion or atheism. talk about entitlements.
 | Cygnatti that's ridiculous. I would have hoped that people would have been less inclined to do so but the simple fact that you're in europe and not over here. :/ this might be harsh for me to say but I really hope that sometime in the near future practitioners of (particularly) christian religions would be extinct. urgh.
 | Havey huh no its up and runnin or are you just tryna scare me

 | ethos this site is losing it's spark for me, i only visit it to check up on a few select people and what they've been up to because i appreciate them as friends. i feel as though i've kinda outgrown it in a way, and want to discover music through a different route. i constantly need new music/change in my life though, so you'll probably see me around... just not as often. thanks, gian

 | Pon Well if you want to invite me that would be sweet :D
 | Pon Well I'm definitely not going to judge it off a YT video but it sounds fine for now. I'll reserve judgement til I can't find a good download.
 | Pon Don't you have to do some sort of entrance exam or something to get into What.CD?
 | Pon Never mind, just found it in full on youtube.
 | Pon I suppose I'll find it on soulseek?
 | Pon Hey man, given GMGN a number of listens over time in hope it will "click" but I'm convinced it never will. Still, I don't want to give on electroacoustic music, got any albums you reckon I'd like? (preferably *not* improv)
 | Decay https://archive.org/details/BecomingTypewriter I enjoyed this very much, would you happen to know where one could purchase it?
 | ahahah heheh
 | MisterTornado it's like their own little creatures they create and put them on a table and let chance take over
 | treeqt. bringing together war and popular music (he calls it "unterhaltungs musik" = ~entertainment music~) is bound to fail because popular music has consume and amusement as primary function and it is by its nature too shallow for such a serious topic. he also says that popular music fails and becomes unenjoyable when a singer sings about how he can't stand war and stuff.
 | treeqt. i like blueberries they taste very nice
 | Decay Thanks for the recs, i was just interested as to how i can expand my music taste even further. :) As i have recently found a liking for most genres I've listened too.
 | Days of Future Passed I almost shed a tear. Expect the entire Erstwhile Records catalog in the mail as a token of my appreciation
 | Decay Obscurity as in least heard, most experimental music you have heard.
 | sixdegrees ah yes I was at that gig I remember it well
 | Decay Most obscure thing you've heard?
 | Days of Future Passed liquid-cooled fossil stench, the habitat impulsively reeks of.. prehistoric estuaries - and - of life
 | hogan900 I'll check it out when I get home from college this week. Seems like I'll need to spend some time on it to actually fully understand it, seems really interesting though.

 | Havey soul is, in the context of art, that which moves you (emotionally contra intellectually). govan's music leaves me cold; unmoved emotionally
 | treeqt. stop wearing batman masks in public -_ -
 | Havey l ol nice title but is the album in which it is contained any good, bennink is very hit-and-miss for me

 | Decay You recd it me, remember?
 | MisterTornado master of post-hardcore, rec me emo-pop and hyper-liquid melodica deathcore
 | Pon To be honest I'm not really sure I'm gonna review it, Hyperion's a great writer and is obviously much more well-versed in their material and history than me. I think I'll just let him have it.
 | ethos which is why, for a brief period of time - i would only rate 5s or not rate (i didn't connect to a lot of the new music i was initially listening to). i don't enjoy pinning a numerical system to music, i've thought it's immature for a real long time - knowing that i have no place or say in the matter, but i do want people to explore stuff and see how passionate i am about music if they visit this page - giving back: that's the main reason i decided to start again, i love this community a lot
 | ethos rating for me is important (now) because it shows my progression and personality, it also leaves behind a trace for people to follow and enjoy what i've thankfully had the opportunity to discover - i want people to glance by it and have the same chance i did to possibly check things out for themselves - experiencing it on their own, for when i'm no longer on here . . if what i reflect isn't an honest/genuine depiction, why rate at all?
 | ethos calls it's just a thing or two i've picked up on since jumping into new material - i'm really excited to check out good morning, good night and see what comes from it: ullmann is growing on me as well, as far as music goes i feel like there are no rules/boundaries, there never has been. we just innately draw them for ourselves and connect through that with others - time and patience are all that is really required if a mind is set in the right place and we determine all of this for ourselves
 | ethos although i do enjoy re-visiting them and seeing what different perspectives i see it in from each separate listen. i also don't get why people just collectively lump or flock to certain albums and don't branch out past them.. i've noticed that divine music from jail cell/quartet are pretty popular but no one really takes the time to explore past them despite claiming how much enjoyment they draw in from it - not trying to come across as conceited or draw any judgement,
 | ethos world of echo really did it for me, i love that album to death as well a bunch of claudio's/your ratings opened the door and excited me to a different way to interpret/approach music that i always felt existed, i don't appreciate rating albums that i don't feel as though i have come to terms with (i.e. polly bradfield, (quartet veliotos, sugimoto, etc.), kazushige kinos***a) though. i'm not going to rate something that i don't feel as though i can connect to or understand at that moment
 | ethos share that passion. electroacoustic (improvised) music isn't something i want to isolate apart from everything and diligently pursue, but i do draw a lot of emotion from it and i thoroughly enjoy a strong amount of what i've heard - without knowing entirely why, which is basically a bonus in attempting to understand/the listen. yes, i consider myself more along the lines of empiric relation (so glad you mentioned that, it fits what needs to be expressed perfectly) with the music i hear
 | ethos when i don't actually know what's going on. being (it) unfamilair and giving things time to settle and seep into my mind to become better understood is undoubtedly my favorite aspect about music and i find that most things i listen to doesn't "bore" me (which is rarely never possible through music) but it doesn't put up much of a fight as it used to in my younger years when i was discovering so many new things left and right, i crave that a lot and i find that a few people on this site
