  • Friday13th Hey Spaceman, are you ready to vote for the final match?
    November 29 06:24 PM
  • hal1ax haha yea that remix is phenomenal man. the changes up like 3 times toward the middle-end too. goes through movements kinda like ashtray wasp. ugh it reminds me of walking home from the bars in san francisco at like 4am. just listened to it on repeat for like an hour lol
    November 26 03:55 AM

  • sixdegrees you can tag by genre or anything else, also it has a system to send recs to other users
    November 15 02:19 AM
  • sixdegrees its just all around better for rating and cataloging, I prefer the social aspect/listmaking here though
    November 15 02:18 AM
  • sixdegrees you *can
    November 15 02:17 AM
  • sixdegrees def, you tag your ratings too and mass edit ratings, among other things
    November 15 02:16 AM
  • sixdegrees no reason really. you should make a new one, its much more functional for actually rating things tbh
    November 15 02:12 AM
  • sixdegrees they were big on this site several years after they became a thing on rym iirc. do you use rym at all?
    November 15 01:59 AM

  • sixdegrees same girl as avatar
    November 15 01:51 AM
  • Tyler. hey haha
    November 12 02:15 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd A lot of it goes to the gross factor tho. I mean, do you think an 80 y.o. man should **** an 18 y.o. girl?
    November 11 05:46 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd There are rules that bridge the gap, yes. For example, in Virginia I believe you have a plus three allowance, so an 18 y.o. and a 15 y.o. could legally have sex but I also think the 18 y.o. could still be hit with a stat rape charge if the parents disagreed with it.
    November 11 05:42 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd I think 15 y.o.'s all have the mental capacity to make that decision, yes. I think only some are physically developed enough (outliers, as you said) to warrant attention from older guys.
    November 11 05:39 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Second, I think age of consent differs from "would you" because at age 40 I wouldn't but at age 19 being with a 15 y.o. doesn't even seem remotely unethical to me. Hence, would I, at 25, do it? It would have to be a case by case basis, but obviously with laws as they are I wouldn't go near it now.
    November 11 05:38 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Alright, I'll break it down in more detail for you if you wanna hear my genuine thoughts. First, it's undeniable that some at that age are fully matured physically. That's fact. I could point to numerous examples from my own experience that you wouldn't think twice about not carding on a night out despite them being minors.
    November 11 05:35 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd No, no, and maybe.
    November 11 05:17 PM
  • Ryus hello
    November 5 09:00 AM
  • hal1ax hah suuuh. ya i just saw ur messages todayyyy. i'm open to checking some trip hop tbh, i just haven't been excited by much of it so far. and ayyyy nice keef ratingg nigz

    November 4 03:07 PM
  • Friday13th Dude, we need your vote for M7!
    November 4 03:05 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd I'm simultaneously trying to figure out what the **** I'm doing while being expected to have a certain ratio of billable hours. Fun stuff. How's bein' awake at 4:00 a.m. treating you?
    October 31 06:19 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Alright, new job kinda kickin' my ass but new jobs always do.
    October 30 10:10 PM
  • Chortles i'm def looking forward to that. i never played ts3 either so it'd be cool to get something. hey this is random but on the topic of games, do you play any of the souls games?? i'm playing bloodborne rn and one of the areas is uncannily reminding of the village in re4.. best area probably, it's so good
    October 28 03:21 PM
  • Chortles damnnn, that sounds amazing and more apt than a "true" sequel tbh, given its fanbase and the huge gap / developer dissolution (?) that has happened since we got ts3. really looking forward to that then
    October 27 06:39 PM
  • Chortles oh s***. what's that about? i have only heard murmurs really, is it a trilogy remaster and is it really happening???
    October 27 03:47 PM
  • Chortles dueeddeee that is sick. i'm still so happy i have an OG copy, i will cherish it forever. TS4 ****ING WHEN
    October 27 11:11 AM
  • Cygnatti i am okay, life kinda got me down rn. hope you're doing well tho!
    October 27 10:39 AM
  • Futures ooo yes. def understand that. absolutely love that album. it's so far ahead of it's time it's incredible. sounds like it could've been made in the 80s or 90s. near perfection.
    October 27 01:46 AM
  • Futures it just reminds me why i love music so much and how much impact it can have. what is that album for you?
    October 27 01:30 AM
  • Futures skinny fists because it changed the way i listen to music. never listened to anything without traditional vocals before. not just an album but an experience. i was floored when i first heard it. i couldn't believe what i was listening to. i wish i could experience something like that for the first time again. it was something larger than music and in scale and themes. truly something worthy of the overused word epic.
    October 27 01:19 AM
  • Conmaniac barely, just gotta print for my midreview then take an exam then like die
    October 23 10:51 AM
  • Conmaniac thanks dude! will try to

    October 23 01:33 AM
  • Conmaniac sorry man, ill try to jam tonight but it not being on spotify hindered me from finishing it. will ya in time tho
    October 23 12:29 AM
  • Futures you're underestimating how god awful bortles is.
    October 22 10:02 PM
  • Futures there's no way they can get away with having bortles dink and dunk the whole year. they will be figured out. texans are definitely taking the division.
    October 22 09:54 PM
  • Futures lol i want off the wild ride. bortles is going to implode eventually just a matter of time.
    October 22 09:04 PM
  • Friday13th Gotcha, yeah wish sput had like a following feature to see what's new with buddies and stuff.
    October 21 07:09 PM
  • Friday13th Hey dude, we're still proggin. You can jump back in and jam match 6 which is some good folk prog stuff.
    October 21 03:44 PM
  • sixdegrees s/t is far from derivative dude
    October 21 08:00 AM
  • sixdegrees yea...not a big fan but i jammed a couple bands like that some years ago
    October 21 01:47 AM
  • nocuffin if you're to look at it from a more semiological perspective, 'average' means different things for different people, so trying to append a fixed number to it is quite dumb/reductive. imo, the average "rating" for each person is that purely -- the sum of the ratings divided by their number. it seems painfully meaningless and mathematical, but it seems more realistic than trying to simplify it to a single number for EVERYONE
    October 19 06:28 PM
  • nocuffin i'd say average is more around 2/5, just for the fact that due to the VOLUMES of music out there, it all becomes quite banal after a while. more personally, i rate music on a scale of how effectively it lets me (temporarily) depart from reality, and i'd say the average piece of music fails to do that, and since reality is way less than a 2.5 it makes sense to perceive average as a bit lower than it is given here. perhaps that's just pessimism though.
    October 19 06:24 PM
  • Aberf I blame MX for this. B(and)E is one of my top 50 songs I think. Also Dig, Get Well, Hymn to the Pillory, t/t, and then the rest aside of Bent Nail, my least favorite but still great.
    October 14 03:21 PM
  • Aberf I found Tired of Tomorrow to be vapid at the initial listen compared to Guilty of Everything. But it grew on me in the end. Anyway, GoE is just perfect to me no matter how I look at it. I'm super biased about that record so I'm glad that you at least enjoy it.
    October 13 10:19 PM
  • Aberf thoughts on Nothing - GoE?
    October 13 04:57 PM
  • Satellite man, good question. i've got tate starting but my league is .5 ppr so he's a bit more reliable than non ppr leagues. i'm hopeful that the offense is going to have a big day in the superdome against the saints' sub-mediocre d. i'd put his chances at finding the endzone at 50%.
    October 11 05:51 PM
  • Aberf You've listened to Whirr - Distressor, but not Nothing - Guilty of Everything. It's basically tenfold better than 'Tired of Tomorrow'. At least imo tho.
    October 11 01:53 PM
  • Conmaniac well s*** im sold dude
    October 10 05:58 PM
  • Conmaniac please do space...
    October 9 08:19 PM
  • Chortles sh!t i am not well versed in downtempo either, but i can at least throw out a few recs lol. try emancipator - soon it will be cold enough and darkside - psychic. the latter is a weird one, maybe not strictly downtempo but i think you might like it. was my go to for t0king and cooking for a few months earlier this year, it's good stuff
    October 6 03:46 PM
  • Chortles helllll yah. fun game too, sometimes kind of hate what it has turned into today but i had so much fun with it back in the day. btw super into carbon based lifeforms... as much of an electronic junkie i am psybient is a subgenre i have basically no experience with, so it's p exciting to see that door opening
    October 6 01:21 PM
  • Chortles oh fk i forgot you lived in florida. everything ok on your end? that's sick. i forgot you said you were super into speed running stuff. i haven't popped off on minecraft since like 2011 or something but i would be down to **** around with your map for sure, that is also dope
    October 6 11:49 AM
  • Chortles dood what TF is up? playin any good games recently?
    October 6 11:28 AM
  • hal1ax hell yaaaaa. i can't even hang with dos equis anymore tho after my cancun trip during undergrad. the taste of those things is just perma etched into my mind lol. went sooo overboard. ur lucky u got hella cuban food over there. i love the way they use plantains man. soooo good
    October 4 08:59 PM
  • hal1ax fuuuk haha 7 is good workk. and ya i love chorizo. big fan of al pastor too. damn i need to get some tacos later for sure. down for some mexican beers as well. pacifico is p good

    October 4 06:03 PM
  • Futures maybe like 6 months? https://rateyourmusic.com/~skyharbor
    October 4 01:50 AM
  • Frippertronics cheers, Futurama is also highly recommended although that one is a bit more "out-there" than Highvision
    October 4 01:30 AM
  • Futures i wiped em. so out of date. got em all on rym now will transfer eventually.
    October 4 01:19 AM
  • Papa Universe That could work too.
    October 3 02:38 AM
  • Papa Universe Huh, I wrote Maker twice...
    October 3 01:59 AM
  • Papa Universe Man, I don't know. The opener is great, Do You In, Maker, Maker, Kill Me, Drone Refusenik and t closer is really engrossing.
    October 3 01:38 AM
  • Frippertronics and most importantly, prep that 4 button
    October 1 11:21 PM
  • Frippertronics idk, maybe recognize Storywriter, but it's pretty quality alt rock/shoegaze before the whole nu-gaze boom. plus, these guys were considered the Japanese Radiohead, if we act like Radiohead broke up after eight years.
    October 1 11:18 PM
  • Frippertronics Highvision, it's the only one of theirs I have rated atm
    October 1 11:13 PM
  • Frippertronics check my dig tbh
    October 1 11:07 PM
  • Futures the jags are back baby!
    October 1 07:31 PM
  • hal1ax ya i could prob handle some of that kind of math. i have a friend who is in grad school pursuing astro physics and i look at his papers sometimes and am just fcking deadddd. like 3 pages of math for one problem haha.
    September 26 11:20 PM
  • hal1ax yea def. physics is super interesting imo but i can't even fck with most of that math tbh
    September 26 11:12 PM
  • hal1ax na i get u. i love science tho lol. always was my fav subject.. which is weird cuz i'm not great at math. always had a knack for like neuroscience and psychology tho. yea so stims are the most taxing on your body absolutely, particularly meth. yea bro addys fck me up good. i get super depressed, achy, fatigues, irritable, feelings of anhedonia (absence of pleasure in activities that normally are pleasurable for u) and worst of all is the come-downs hella slow my brain down. like IQ drops 30pts
    September 26 11:00 PM
  • hal1ax ya i think it works best with heroin because there comes a point in heroin addiction where people honestly don't even rly get hi or if they do they're hi for like 10-20min and then are just dying. like with cocaine or any stimulant, the diminishing returns aren't as bad because your brain has a fck ton of dopamine receptors and even without artificially stimulating them ur brain can replenish its natural dopamine quite quickly but w endorphins it's fcked... like u rly don't produce that much
    September 26 10:50 PM
  • hal1ax actually meth has some high diminishing returns too. but as far as i know, meth tolerance doesn't jump as fast as H tolerance does. although it's hard to gauge and often comes down to one's biology.
    September 25 10:57 PM
  • hal1ax toward the positive side that it will ever be, yielding virtually zero negative effects, even when coming down, and no detox. but the more you use, the more that ratio shifts over toward a negative skew, to the point where you are using the most u have ever used and are barely getting hi, and at this point detox is an agonizingly long, drawn-out process. and so this is the paradox of the addict i think. the longer u use, the more u grow to hate the substance, and yet, ur the MOST dependent on it
    September 25 10:52 PM
  • hal1ax well opiates have the most diminishing returns out of any other drug, simply because endorphin desensitization is more detrimental than mere neurotransmitter desensitization (dopamine etc, whereas endorphins are actually hormones). have u ever heard of the opponent process model? it works super well for opioid use. it posits that with all substance use, there is an elicited efficacy ratio of positive effect vs negative effect, and the first time u use the drug, that ratio is the most skewed ...
    September 25 10:52 PM
  • hal1ax ahhhh, well, for me this is also an easy contest -- heroin haha. which is basically satan incarnated into substance form lol. but yea idk, nothing quite like it. it's prob the thing i feel most ambivalent about too, whereby it's like my absolute fav thing and also the thing i hate the most. acid is cool but it's like a special occasion thing for me to do w friends. never got super into it. some of my buddys are tho
    September 25 10:32 PM
  • hal1ax Haha ya they?re like made specifically for that state of mind. But ya I get blown out these Days too. I think if u did it on a routine basis again tho youd prob adjust pretty quickly
    September 25 08:15 PM
  • hal1ax Hahaha. Yea I think the giggly / quirky kinda behavior is mostly just a result of a low tolerance u know? Like I hadn?t smoked for 6 months and last week took a couple bong rips and was just like cry laughing at those adult swim Steve Brule videos on YouTube for like 3 straight hours lol. Next day I watched a couple of em and was like wtf this is the single most retarded sh1t I?ve ever seen
    September 25 08:00 PM
  • hal1ax Ya same. But for some reason I can drink like 10 beers and be barely drunk but hard alc decimates me these days. But ya weed tho haha. Couple bong rips puts me it like all day
    September 25 06:57 PM
  • hal1ax Haha we gettin old bruh. But ya weed annihilates me these days too. So does alcohol man. My hangovers last like 72 hours now it?s insane.
    September 25 05:36 PM
  • hal1ax OHhhhh allow me to peep thisss
    September 23 07:06 PM
  • KILL dm mood atm bro
    September 19 06:41 PM
  • Futures no s*** lol. at least next years qb class is really good. i want mason rudolph the most.
    September 18 02:07 PM
  • Futures jags are back baby. i told you this would happen

    September 13 10:36 PM
  • Futures crushed lol. it's basically over
    September 13 02:25 PM
  • Chortles yes! I love rick and morty. I'm loving the new season too, it's pretty ****ed even by their standards. Looks like that bigger budget has been pretty apparent as well
    September 13 09:42 AM
  • Futures yeah ****ing david johnson lol my season is already over
    September 13 03:34 AM
  • hal1ax haha wow... some apocalyptic sounding sh1t right there
    September 13 02:16 AM
  • hal1ax wtfff jesus man. thank the lawd that thing tempered down a bit before hitting. were you and your ppl ready to evacuate at any point? or did yall realize the storm had attenuated in potency early enough
    September 13 02:08 AM
  • Futures yeah theilen would be really good in a ppr. tate for a ton of targets last week also. really good receiving code you got
    September 13 02:03 AM
  • hal1ax shiiii i heard it was uh... level 5 or something? out in the ocean. just monster cocked some poor island. but yea that's good it abated. you're close to tampa or na? i thought i read something saying tampa incurred some damage
    September 13 01:37 AM
  • hal1ax did irma do work on ur hood or what
    September 13 01:32 AM
  • Futures dez duh. if you're picking two dez and tate. how was the hurricane?
    September 13 01:03 AM
  • Chortles been good! busy with work and dumb s*** but hey, still finding time to waste here. i guess i'm not popping in enough shoegaze threads eh? ;^) glad to see swirlies stuck man!! **** they good
    September 12 08:28 PM
  • Jethro42 You're very welcome sir, and it's my pleasure. Don't worry but protect your place ;) We still got 6 to go.

    September 8 04:01 PM
  • Futures oh **** man i forgot you are down there. are you going to be ok? evacuating?
    September 8 01:59 PM
  • Futures i thought it was pretty good. lacking a star wr but i had to reach for rodgers i had the first overall pick. johnson, miller then rodgers. wrs usually during the year some dude on waivers will light it up anyway lol. that's how it usually goes. but yeah i really like bryant especially since they traded coates.
    September 4 05:51 PM
  • Futures money league 12 team 3 wr 2 rb no flex ppr aaron rodgers david johnson lamar miller delanie walker sammy watkins emmanuel sanders martavius bryant pats d will lutz. paul perkins and randall cobb notable bench. what do you think?

  • butcherboy cheers, pal.. appreciate that a lot.. and I may have a beautiful psych rec for you that badly needs a write-up.. maybe it will get your writing juices flowing.. Gary lee Conner, used to be the guitar player in the screaming trees.. I can't remember the name of the album, I'll get it to you tomorrow.. even if you don't end up reviewing it, you should give it a listen..
    August 6 07:03 PM
  • butcherboy **** the ghost negs.. would love to see more of your writing come around..
    August 6 06:40 PM
  • butcherboy Space, how is it, dude? glad you liked it, yea, that album is nothing groundbreaking, but tight as all hell, and the most consistent newcombe has sounded in ages..
    August 6 06:31 PM
  • hal1ax ya it brings some of those fem indie rock vibes huh? sometimes i fck with that. but yo u should check out the second.. pretty interesting stuff. but yea not usually my bag either but they are just a good band idk.
    July 31 12:48 AM
  • hal1ax bruhhhh i have actually only heard 'they spent their wild...' by them and i fcking love it. haven't checked their first joint yet. it's weird, like i download and listen to so much music that i often forget to dip into the back catalogues of the artists i end up liking lol. it's good tho eh?
    July 31 12:37 AM
  • zakalwe Bloody hell, what a din! A good din though. Quality spiritualized shirt.
    July 21 09:45 AM
  • Relinquished cool that u checked man, cheers
    July 21 12:48 AM
  • sixdegrees surprised the mods actually did anything, that list had been up for months...your guess is as good as mine as to why anyone would take sputnik averages that seriously
    July 18 09:18 PM
  • nocuffin I was slangin crystal meth. s*** was ****in dangerous. almost got jumped a few times. money was solid but holy **** I'm glad to be out. why don't you just sign yourself up to s***ty community activities? there's bound to be good ways to meet (not all) good (but surely some good) people. if you ain't tied down by a missus you could always hit the dating scene (although that s*** is pretty unfulfilling). or you could do what I did: just sit at a bar smoking. eventually someone will want a light.
    July 16 05:58 PM
  • nocuffin yeah I'm doin alright. got myself out of the dealing game pretty recently, and my girl's getting back from seeing her fam tonight so things are looking up. plus, she got me a bunch of xo supreme for my bday so I have a feeling these few nights before uni kicks back into gear (because somehow I found the money to reenrol) will be fun. what's been keeping you in?
    July 16 05:36 PM
  • nocuffin I try to tell myself that there's hope on the horizon these days. I guess that's why it's such a shame that the horizon's so far away. how you been?
    July 16 05:28 PM
  • JamieTwort Hey man, yeah still into it but haven't found much time for it lately sadly, need to try and change that! My profile picture is actually taken from Venn Rain's Diamond Dust tape but I did choose it because it is a similar style to my photography haha
    July 15 11:24 AM
  • Cygnatti lmao, this song is so 90s! not sure what that means but it means something to me. i def think i've heard it even a few times, but i don't think i ever actively searched for it. it's pretty great tho. feels influential. i dig the post-punk aesthetic to that cover? thing on the video too.
    July 15 01:02 AM
  • Cygnatti ****, lyric videos for that song will never get it 100% right. oh wells ~
    July 15 12:40 AM
  • Cygnatti yes, that is the big 4 of trip hop. trip hop is supposedly a subgenre of downtempo (i believe it). here is a trip hop song (closer to rnb!) that also has an amazing buildup. very poignant imo ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yk-o5TGvXE
    July 15 12:37 AM
  • Cygnatti this song is bangin'. whole album is pretty great too. this s*** gets me hyped tho. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CEocRDSXn8
    July 14 11:46 PM
  • Cygnatti shoot dude, the best i have on downtempo are a couple of singles. has never quite been my thing despite the big 4 of trip hop reign supreme.
    July 14 11:42 PM
  • protokute ahhh space.. thanks for remembering me on that band, i really liked that song you rec'd and i'll surely check an album of theirs.
    July 10 05:07 PM
  • wham49 now is a great time to be a Dead fan, just keep releasing killer shows. Do yu check any of their live series, great s***.
    July 9 04:57 PM
  • Rowan5215 yeah fair enough, pretty much every user I'm close with will pop into discord every now and then so that's why I love it. also the banter is friggin incredible there. thanks man, I get a tightness in my chest whenever I think about starting it rn but once I'm a week or two in it'll probably (hopefully) settle down. I feel ya totally, there's always more friends to make or so I hear
    July 9 12:54 AM
  • Rowan5215 you should pop into jac's discord server man, it's where most of us go to talk s*** and hang out nowadays! eh been a very long few months and my last term of uni starts tomorrow so I've been better honestly. how you?
    July 9 12:18 AM
  • Rowan5215 lol true. just good to see you round I guess, feels like it's been a minute since you were here
    July 8 09:46 PM
  • Rowan5215 ha you're a sole bright spot in an otherwise awful thread spacey
    July 8 10:04 AM
  • hal1ax kk leme try
    July 6 01:26 AM
  • hal1ax yea it says i have to open my port too... and i'm a little bit clueless when it comes to tech sh1t like this haha. i could prob figure it out tho.. as long as i open my port u can see my folder ya? or is it reciprocal.. like we both have to have ports open for u to browse my folder?
    July 6 01:26 AM
  • hal1ax woah that's mariana trench deep bruh. and so yea i'm not super familiar with how user interactivity works on slsk but try to add me and see if it will let u scope my upload library.
    July 5 05:34 PM
  • hal1ax alright so i think i uploaded my entire itunes music folder. hopefully it works. but my slsk name is "ruhl3"
    July 5 03:46 PM
  • hal1ax Yaaaa I'm down. I'll upload my library tonight
    July 5 12:01 AM
  • hal1ax Woah, that is a good question. I do have an upload folder but I only choose to upload like 10% of my total library because I would rather avoid exorbitant amounts of leech traffic. If u want to peep my library tho I can just drag that b1tch over. I'm pretty sure u can search specific users but I have yet to try.
    July 4 09:55 PM
  • hal1ax Yessir
    July 4 07:24 PM
  • hal1ax lol thanks. and ya ok i'll avoid. i tend to like the raw and gritty sh1t lol; hence why i like the noise-related genres so much. and yea man i absolutely agree. music has no visual or tangible sensual medium... just auditory, which makes it almost untethered and unadulterated. like u aren't shown what to think or how to feel about it, it is just filtered through who u are and u make of it what u will. usually the more avid music goers are much more attuned to music's evocative qualities.
    July 3 09:22 PM
  • hal1ax na i haven't. i will dload it and the Can record. but yea music is certainly very synesthetic in the sense that certain sounds/combinations of sounds/key shifts, etc. can often evoke strong memories or visualizations or moods of sometimes even other sensations. sounds like you have some associations with that sort of music and that's rly cool. it's like the most subjective thing in the world lol. some connections are just totally eschewed by some and enshrined by others.
    July 3 07:59 PM
  • hal1ax i think i get it ya. sort of like an ethos or frame-of-mind. like your connection with a certain feeling elicited, rather than being defined by the workings of the substance. yea that's fcking cool and interesting. i'll do some exploring, hopefully i feel similarly lol.
    July 3 07:44 PM
  • hal1ax oh cool. yea i'm not really up to speed with a lot of the classics. i should prob do a bit of digging in that sphere. maybe hit up some other older psych bands too. like i literally know nothing about psych rock
    July 3 07:32 PM
  • hal1ax i actually haven't even heard Can haha. which album do i check?
    July 3 07:22 PM
  • hal1ax yea i hear u. tbh i am a full-blown psychedelic music novice so i can't rec anything in that vein. but lots of noise rock has heavy psych elements//influence so u might be amenable to some of it, i.e. mainliner
    July 3 07:20 PM
  • hal1ax that was a beautiful description. u might be into these guys. full record is less than 20min so not too cumbrous of a listen. --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR0Y6eQmp_I
    July 3 07:17 PM
  • hal1ax yaaaa bruh. love how noisy and loud that record is. and fck me i was supposed to connect u with 2017 recs that are your style but i honestly haven't found any. i've been binging on noise rock lately. u like any of that stuff? i think i remember u digging Mainliner ehh??
    July 3 06:31 PM
  • Cygnatti upon consideration, it's quite a bit like the cure imo! same era too, with connections to post punk and neo-psych as well! totally different tone, of course, but i think you'll dig it. :]
    June 30 06:17 PM
  • Cygnatti last day of the monf so i thought why naught drop a rec! :D so this alb is pretty important in the 80s neo-psych scene (i'm actually rather unfamiliar with that era). i'm not the biggest fan of the album, i've got stipulations with the production job and songwriting, but many others quite like it! that said, i really like this song: The Reptile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCPC_5j1Few
    June 30 06:14 PM
  • hal1ax ya no worriess take ur time. and yea i just downloaded like 12 records that looked interesting from this year so ill see waddup and get back at yuh
    June 17 09:10 PM
  • hal1ax hell yea i'll dload rn. always looking for new gaze, and ya japanese is fine, i don't give a sh1t about lyrics anyway. but yea i'm gonna hunt some new music down tonight and i'll report back if i find anything extraordinary. actually, new chastity belt is kinda cool, u might dig. post-punk-ish -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHMj3ltKrag
    June 17 09:01 PM
  • hal1ax sup playboyy. uhh, fack, haven't been listening to much new music lately at all. i've been lagging hard on the '17 stuff, except for a few trap records. but lets see... been listening to a lot of Whirr, loveless, strictly ballroom, dino jr., and some power electronics. how about u?? got any goodies for me?
    June 17 08:35 PM
  • LordePots the album version is a bit different instrumentally, can't wait to get it out there next month with the full alb :]
    June 16 05:17 AM
  • LordePots another verse. felt like the right thing to do and its still one of my favourite songs i've ever made 2 years later
    June 16 05:16 AM
  • LordePots mark wrote the first verse and i wrote the second! thank you and thanks for noticing that duality, thats a super personal song for both of us. we both went through very different break ups at the same time and the duality of the verses is supposed to kind of echo how different the situations were while also showing how similar they were emotively at the same time. mark wrote the first verse and got too sad and had to stop so i decided to take it in that direction instead of pushing him to do
    June 16 05:15 AM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd For credibility purposes, other lists by said user include "Disturbed vs. Avenged Sevenfold" and "Papa Roach Ranked".
    June 12 02:47 PM
  • GhostOfSarcasticBtrd Terrible list.
    June 12 02:43 PM
  • brainmelter and yeah I saw lol
    June 7 11:17 PM
  • brainmelter yee, I've only played it twice at a friends house. it is better than the first one and catwoman goes hard but I also prefer mkx's characters and gameplay still. it's so good and balanced. I laaav it. I'll maybe get it eventually with all the dlc on one disk down the line.
    June 7 11:16 PM
  • brainmelter hey fam, have you gotten around to playing injustice 2? if so, what ya think?
    June 5 02:50 AM
  • Cygnatti but yeah, i definitely get what you mean. but he honestly might take it quite a bit further since he's highly religious after this and even becomes involved in some dubious cult activity!! talk about over-compensation! 'i'm a lost, godless fool whom thought himself too high too steel... i might seek redemption by any means...' - and yet, i still can't help but feel for the guy. that's how you know they're a good musician lmao.
    May 11 12:49 PM
  • Cygnatti i'm personally impressed at how many musical worlds that psychedelia opened up: heavy metal (from heavy psych), prog rock and experimental rock (from psych rock), shoegaze/noise pop/dream pop (all from psych rock neo-psych), and so forth. but i didn't think that arguably the first modern "electronic" band ever would also be psychedelic (rock)!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDSYzAPCB-Y
    May 11 12:40 PM
  • Cygnatti i think the "blunt" approach is very well but the heavy-handed degree it's done on this song should only be done sparingly so that it has more effect. reading into things here, but i can imagine he's averse to the symbolism and imagination (like psychedelia often incorporates) considering, well everything... wouldn't u think?
    May 10 10:54 AM
  • Cygnatti it's an album opener, the rest of the album isn't quite as heavy and really does flesh out his character (lol!) and his story. btw i got another one for you since i missed last months entry ;)
    May 10 10:49 AM
  • Cygnatti it's definitely quite the downer, but i think it's really powerful. the lyrics aren't the best but he sounds so devastated... hope you dig it!!
    May 8 09:00 PM
  • Cygnatti cyg here 4 ur monthly psychedelia dosage :] this jam entry is psych folk, ironically about the guy despairing on how hard drugs fried the s*** outta his brain and left him socially, mentally addled and spiritually lost. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0HzNePL-XM
    May 8 08:59 PM
