 | Xenophanes It's certainly more fun, I will say. I feel like I can relax and enjoy it as pure pulp indulgence which is interestingly something I have never been able to do with the genre (LotR and The Stormlight Archive are the only fantasy series I have read) so it's been a nice change of pace. But again, it's much more saccharine and will hopefully darken up, if only slightly.

| Xenophanes Awesome, thanks for giving me deeper responses than I was expecting lol. I read Malazan 1-3 in like 2 weeks so I stopped to read Eye of the World for a little breather. After all it was oppressive stuffing all of that into such a short amount of time. WoT, 75% through book 1 is fun, but it is a little tropey. I knew that going in, but even with that knowledge I find it a bit toothless. It's a lot more wholesome than I was expecting. Maybe because Malazan was so much the opposite?

 | Pon It's dense af and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it but my early impression is that it's better than Vermis. It's got more of a dramatic vibe about it, there's even bits that sound genuinely sad, which is something they tried with "Weight of Emptiness" but pulled off much more successfully here.

| Rastapunk Well trying to get for my first year of Master's Degree. CLasses have stopped now we have a two month internship. I'll be working on some shear structures and Shark's tooth on Aa lavas. If I'm selected for the second year, I might take a 6 month internship on geophysics and volcano structures. Not sure yet, very open to many different subjects. But that's depending on how my helath improves, accumulated fatigue is a bitch, it's like sleeping the entire day :PYou've always been in BC?

From what I've studied of geology, I really, really enjoy it and to combine it with the outdoors like you say, would be a dream! I live in Australia and there's a huge supply and demand for geologists at the moment (in particular petroleum and what have you)- so thanks for the advice I think I'll go and jump in the world of rocks- I'm happy to hear you don't regret it at all!

| Jom I can merge your accounts so that all the reviews, comments, etc. are under one account. The only caveat is that it will be like changing your password (where there's a bit of a delay for the change to process). I'd rather do it now (while it's in the morning) instead of during a peak time.

| BirthRite It is true the book of Revelation was mainly portrayed to John in signs and it is also true that John did not understand but he was commended to write these things down. But why? The reason was for us. It was to be reserved for the appointed time. Now is the appointed time as the majority of the prophecies are being fulfilled. For instance there is a revelation in that same book where the British empire spit out the seperation of the Anglo-American world power where the United States came out.

| BirthRite May I ask, have you ever contemplated, or what are your thoughts about the prophecies that reach down to our day? We know the Bible had many past prophecies that were already fulfilled but there are many that are still yet to be fulfilled, like the great tribulation, or the destruction of false religion, ect.

| BirthRite Well you must remember that the flood was according to the Bible was God's doing rather than a natural random occurance, so with this being said if you believe that God can do miracles or supernatural things, the thought of flood is easy to comprehend. I can't remember if the world was Pangea at that time and whether God focused the flood on the existing living people at that time, because I doubt every part of the world was inhabited at that time.

| BirthRite It makes me feel good in my heart that you do not believe in Hellfire. And in regards to things being taken literally, this is true. The Bible was be properly reviewed. For instance the hebrew term that the Bible uses for "day" has a variety of meanings, including "a long time" or "the time covering an extraordinary event". So, the term "day" could imply thousands of years in length. Inf fact, even the book of Revelation starts in verse one saying it's in "signs" or "illustrations"
