 | LenZ Misery signals was awesome live.. they played a lot of controller and of magnum heart. I'm doing IT at uni, it is a lot more fun at uni because you get to do a lot more stuff.

| Insurrection It definitely has some black metal qualities but I think of it more as blackened crust punk, kinda like Darkthrone's stuff from the mid-late '00s

| Insurrection It's all good man haha, yeah the mods can be a bit petulant sometimes but usually theyre pretty reasonable. If anything I'd recommend shoutboxing Jom about it, hes helpful with these sort of things. If theres anything else I can do to help feel free to ask! I see you liked the new Young and in the Way album, still digesting it myself but after a couple listens I like what I'm hearing

| Vakarian12 haha get on Moonsorrow - V: H?vitetty now!! Asking Alexandria was a another band I thought were amazing for about a month but then came to my senses haha, never listened to the others one though. If younger me was around yeah, a good beating would be in order for alot of reasons. Even people that claim they will listen to anything and appreciate all music genres dismiss alot of stuff, and low and behold they only listen to deathcore/metalcore. I'm seeing a trend with those types

I have a soft spot for alot of s*** but not that, no idea what I was thinking haha. Yeah dude, I've had a ton of albums where afterwards I've said "**** I need to show someone this" but most people I know aren't into what I am and won't even give it a go. Most recent is Moonsorrow - V: Hävitetty. Get on that album right now.

| evilford and funebre - children of the scorn. a newer crushing dm gem is dead congregation - graves of the archangels. oh and my second fav dm band besides death is prob immolation. they rule hard, and aren't as atmospheric as others, but incorporate deeper atmosphere fairly frequently. feel free to take any of this as you wish. that should get you started heheh.

| evilford Death is the best hah. other than that...hm. I'm kind of a bm novice but Burzum is very atmospheric, I think you'd like hvis lyset tar oss, and det som engang var. Coldworld - Melancholi. also if you like atmospheric music and death metal, you might love some osdm...in that case definitely check out soulside journey by darkthrone as well, and maybe rippikoulu - musta seremonia, carnage - dark recollections, convulse - world without god, rottrevore - iniquitous, gorement - the ending quest

| evilford that's cool man. and yeah, a thing I like about darkthrone is at times they play a kind of blackened sludge, like their album Total Death, I've digging really hard lately. rating here is lame but the album rules and they kind of make their own kind of black sludge, it's pretty sweet. they mix it up well but they usually manage to hit a good atmosphere. re: Symbolic, I have the remastered version. it's a really progressive dm album though, so I never thought the smooth prod hurt rly

I've just gotten into Darkthrone in the last couple of months, but they're really consistent and ridiculously versatile. a lot of their album ratings on here are BS...but if you're interested in checking them out, I think you like more atmospheric stuff, so I'd recommend starting with a blaze in the northern sky. they encompass so many different genres over the course of their career. soulside journey is almost as awesome but that's basically old school dm

| Shuyin i just got home from my 'family doctor' (thats what we call it here) she gave me something to ease the pain and scheduled me to go see a specialist. still dunno when im going but its good news, gotta be positive, also she told me its curable so im even more happy. if this medicine could at least allow me to rest for awhile.. i really need it.

| Shuyin coming up with something new and making it a good listen can be quite a pain but its cool to see you've made up your mind to have your own sound regardless of other's opinions. id say you should compose a few songs on one of those programs just for fun and then slowly try to write something more serious.

| Shuyin some doom would be extremely interesting but it really is hard to make the whole thing flow well, mostly because doom is normally slower and allot different. we didnt wanted to constaly killing the pace of a song, so we tried to make it progress. as if starting with a fast riff and slowly evolving into a quiet sound/melody, as if one person who's achieved peace of mind. gotta be really creative and expressive while writing stuff in this type of music.

| Shuyin shoutboxes are overated, dont worry about it. besides im still here all alone trying to recover, may as well have someone to talk to :p a really great program to produce music is fruity loops. even if you record a song normally (as a band) you can still add the keyboards and symphonic elements using that program. you can also balance the whole sound, the program itself can be a bit hard to learn at first tho.

| Shuyin i tried adding some doom elements to make it stand out, imo doom is the most depressive/destructive style of music there is, and our lyrical themes weren't really happy either so we had a chance to make it work. we needed to work our songs allot tho, and we are all really lazy hahaha

| Shuyin it sucks that it happened to your band but sadly its something that happens quite often, playing post metal isnt as easy as it seems. my guitar guy (yea him again) was also leaning towards super generic metalcore, punk rock. as a band we need to have elements that we both like, and im cool with metalcore but only if we play something that stands out and not the same bland sound that so many bands already have, thats ridiculous.

| Shuyin its hard, he used to be a good guy. he changed like night and day, idk what to do about it, but i still see him as a friend. music takes time and effort, if you write it for fun and with passion you may end up with amazing material. its when people start worrying about fame that things go wrong.

| Shuyin what kinda band was it? if you wanna be good at something you need to practice hard and dream high, yknow? imagine Neurosis, they started as a mediocre band and now they're revered as one of the best bands ever and spawned an entire music genre. love them.

| Shuyin he only cares about the girls on facebook, and keeps telling me that he's a music genius, when he doesnt even have a clue what good music is (listens to new slipknot, a day to remember, lmfao, etc..). its kind of a long story about ingrate friends, im expecting to restart working when i get better and ill start learning guitar so i can write my own stuff.

| Shuyin it is very hard to make the song flow, our song (pieces) was supposed to flow like a story (with ups and downs) i wrote the lyrics and then helped the guitar guy with the riffs and a solo. as for me i would be the harsh vocalist, honestly im not that good but im practicing. idk exactly whats going on with the guy tbh, i 'was there' when he needed me and when he got sick, now that I got sick he says i didnt supported him.. he told that to allot of his friends too and it was all bulls***.

| Shuyin well i was in a band a few months ago. we never got to record anything but we did wrote one song called pieces. it was about a man that abandoned his religion, our style was could be described as progressive, doom metal with small post metal influences.. it was a pain to get that all to work and the song itself was a bit messy, we needed more time to work on that. i think that project is over right now, my guitar guy is going nuts.. no joke, the guy needs therapy.

| Shuyin even then, they still sound pretty unique to me. unlike most bands that rip off other great bands, these guys made something unique and good. and thats awsome, imo. aah and thanks man, right now the main thing is to stop some sort of infection before it spreads and gets really serious, i actually noticed it ahead of time, lucky me. and the treatment is going well so far, its tedious but i cant complain, just wanna get better soon.

| Shuyin haha its still early in here (17,51) at least with the new medication ill be able to rest properly at night. as for good music, ive heard 3 more albums so far and they all ruled: Colaris, Cyclopian, Moraines. all post metal/instrumental bands with great guitar work and atmosphere

I have been pushing them shamelessly lately. if you check out Latitudes, get Agonist. both their LPs are amazing but Agonist is one of my favorite PM albums now.

| Shuyin sure, a great space rock band to check out would be Hum (damn, i love those guys ahaha), as for some post you could take a listen to some of these albums: Callisto-Noir, Blindead-Autoscopia / Murder In Phazes, A Cold Dead Body-Harvest Years, Mouth Of The Architect-Quietly/The Violence Beneath, Isis-Panopticon (this one you'll probably enjoy allot).

| Shuyin its all awsome stuff and if you dig those, then the best band to check out next is mors principium est. like DT they have the keyboards but they dont overuse them, ending up with overall awsome solos and riffs. i hope they release something new soon, they're going through allot of lineup changes atm.
