 | CaptainHadouken It was cool talking, catcha around and enjoy the rec's. Any other genres just ask.
 | Spec I don't even know who you are but you listen to some pretty good music. KUDOS.
 | TheEnigma You make an interesting point although I could see many potential rebuttals. Thanks for sharing anyways, it just had me curious.
 | TheEnigma I know you've mentioned your faith a few times and I always thought Christians were supposed to take a blatant stand against those sorts of things to protect the sanctity of life, the sanctity of marriage etc.
 | TheEnigma "I'm all for the legalization of gay marriage, marijuana, and abortion"I found this surprising.
 | Gmork89 Sorry for the double post, I don't know what this things problem is, it keeps making me say "listd" instead of "listsd".
 | Gmork89 I'm sure you will do fine on here, if you haven't already got in a 100 comment long battle and gotten a few listsd your in good shape so far haha.
 | JWT155 :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc6vs-l5dkc
 | Gmork89 Ya, I have been banned over arguments with people on here before, you learn to just stick with the cool people and tune the rest out. It's a good site once you meet the right people though :)
 | danielito19 Hawks is a good guy but he's so kvlt it's scary.
 | danielito19 haha I know what you mean about feeling obligated. I think I got into it because Hawks pressured me.And then I found Enslaved and all was good
 | danielito19 I heard you were attempting to get into Black Metal. If I were you I'd go through Enslaved's discography in reverse chronological order and then branch out from there.
 | Gmork89 Well, I gotta go now for a little while, let me know what you think of that song if you check it out. I need someone to talk about Townsend's music with on here, KILL likes him but he shuns my existence for some reason haha. Talk to you later :)
 | Gmork89 Haha, ya especially back in the day, those dingleberries in his dreadlocks were classic. You should look up Feather though, on youtube or something, it has me pretty excited for his new albums.
 | Gmork89 I completely agree, I found SYL a couple years back and it really kicked my ass and got me through some hard times. Now he is my favorite artist of all time without a doubt, I'm starting to sound pretentious but it's the truth, his music just does a lot for me. I'm sure you understand :)
 | Gmork89 No haha, I love black metal without a doubt, but I love a lot of music just the same. I just don't come around much anymore so I can't keep up with the user base. But ya, Townsend is the man, have you heard Feather from Ghost yet?
 | Gmork89 Your a Townsend fan? Why haven't we talked yet?
 | Wolfhorde She lectures people about being offending "to her beliefs" like all the time.
 | Wolfhorde I'd argue that. You didn't lecture me about being offending about something, which is cool.
 | Hawks Haha I'm not on Facebook right now. I'll make sure I do that when I get on.
 | Grignard well i am out. i will pray for you and your business. been nice talking to you!
 | Grignard no no i get you. it just sounds exactly like my families stuff.
 | Grignard well i am only used to scandinavian inspired stuff, which is full of fat=epic. i think you have the right idea there. again, i am sure things will work out for ya. you obviously have talent
 | AngelofDeath I'll assist you in your bumping endeavor as well. Kind of bored now that the Top Chef finale is over.
 | AngelofDeath No probs. Bumping later's probably a good idea. Wait till it's past the kids' bedtimes.
 | Grignard small town, urban or suburban business?
 | AngelofDeath Aww, I'm sorry. :( Sputnik usually panders to the whim of females, so I'm not sure why you're gettin' snubbed. Especially when all you stuff looks awesome. Maybe they're ashamed lol. I'll make sure you get some referrals though.
 | Grignard haha dedicated huh? tbh i dont even have a facebook account. but yeah that stuff looked fantastic; reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. best of luck in your baking career!
 | acorncheese oh i just assumed because you said i'm creepy!
 | Hawks Haha yeah I'm sure you'll get used to it. Just gotta give it some time.
 | Hawks Eh well it definitely takes some repeated listens for some of the groups/albums. It took me a damn long time to get used to it and now a lot of my favorite albums are ones that I used to hate when I first listened to them. Just depends.
 | Hawks Haha it's understandable. It's definitely not something that everyone can get into. You're not the only one.
 | Hawks So have you explored any more black metal albums recently?
 | Samshine Girrl, check my most recent list (:
 | GhettoIndieshit Yeah i feel that haha the Tree house of Horror episodes always kick ass though
 | Kimm I'll be at my home church tomorrow but next week I don't know. I'm moving out on Friday so I can start figuring these things out for myself! Hopefully I have a vehicle by then.
 | AngelofDeath Sounds awesome. One day we'll have to combine efforts for a dinner party of epic proportions.
 | Kimm It seems contradictory sometimes. It's like we know we aren't saved by works, but we're still subconciously trying to be saved that way. And the whole idea of being proud of how humble we are. Lol. That being said, it's still good to have solid biblical preaching. Finding a proper balance sure is hard!
 | AngelofDeath Sounds pretty rad to me. I can generally get along with anyone knowledgable and passionate about music and/or food.
 | Kimm Totally agree. And do you know what's really sad - I think the Reformed Churches are quite often the worst ones for that. Put on a good show at church but live a sinful lifestyle during the week. As long as you go to church each week to ask for forgiveness. Very frustrating.
 | AngelofDeath Yep, no problem. And that's a pretty big heap of records lol. Wouldn't be a bad thing to be passed down to you at all, I'm sure.
 | AngelofDeath Yeah, I'm on that s*** a lot lol. Also check out discogs.com and musicstack.com.
 | AngelofDeath Yeah, I kind of doubt it too, but it would be nice. The only one of theirs I have is Come Clarity, which isn't exactly one of my favorites, but I love the cover art and figured it'd at least be good for framing.
 | Kimm It does seem like "the lesser of two evils", that's for sure. Still, "an account for every careless word"...I feel pretty convicted when I read that.
 | AngelofDeath Well, that might be tough. Lunar Strain has been reissued and is fairly easy to find (just saw a copy at the record store today actually), but the few albums after that have been out of print since they were releases in the '90s. Would really like to get my hands on a copy of Whoracle, but they run like $150-200 on eBay.
 | AngelofDeath Yeah, a lot of stuff just sounds soo good analog. Especially older stuff like Close to the Edge and Mirage. Looks like you enjoyed Traced in Air too. Good deal.
 | Kimm Totally. I have a feeling you and I are quite similar.
 | AngelofDeath No worries. :) Think you'll really be happy with your turntable. Just be careful; collecting records is kind of addictive lol. Started out with a few and now I'm up to like 130. Mostly old prog and black metal.
 | Kimm I know what you mean, I struggle in the same way. I was surprised by your story in the embarrassing/awkward situations thread too. I went to a club once and told myself I'll never go there again. I struggle enough with purity as is...I find places like that are not only a temptation for me, but also just a sad summary of what our culture "worships". Sex, sex, sex.
 | Kimm I've noticed you really like to play up your sexuality.
 | AngelofDeath Also, did you ever ship those marshmallows 'cause I haven't gotten any? I think the postman ate them. :(
 | acorncheese well that's real inconsiderate of you. i'm appalled
 | acorncheese well, unless you share your account with other people.
 | Ovrot That I have. They are fantastic
 | AngelofDeath Lol. Very well then. Might let you get caught up first, though.
 | AngelofDeath Just thought of another rec you should like since you like melodeath and prog: Cynic - Traced in Air.
 | KILL hell yea hard metal thrash
 | AngelofDeath Also, if you're interested in the same style of melodies not necessarily played on acoustic, you might want to give some folk metal a try. I consider Ensiferum's self-titled debut to be the standard. Fantastic melodies.
 | AngelofDeath I like both kinds of folk, but I don't think people really grasped the fact that you weren't talking about American folk/Americana. That or they're just assholes. Could be both.
 | AngelofDeath Rec'ed you several neo-folk albums in your thread earlier because most of the users on here are ****-tards that just like to argue.
 | Hawks Hell yeah, it definitely take a while to get used to. It took me a long time to get over the production values, but you'll get used to it.
 | Hawks They're mainstream now, but their first 3 albums are all regarded as great black metal albums. You could even try for any Cradle of Filth's first 5 albums and see what you think.
 | Hawks Well black metal is more set on atmosphere than anything else. A lot of it is repetitive and meant to put you in a trance like state. Try out Sons of Northern Darkness by Immortal. That is one of the more riff heavy and instrumental reliable albums.
 | Hawks Production is definitely an issue for someone getting into black metal. Definitely go with Angel's advice and listen to Bergtatt by Ulver. Also maybe try The Olden Domain by Borknagar and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant by Dimmu Borgir.
 | Kimm It's definitely better than being bored!
 | AngelofDeath Yeah, they're pretty extreme. Most of what I listen to makes Hot Topic music look like indie pop. I'll go and second Hawks' recommendation to check out Dissection and Emperor. Not always easy to get people into black metal, but those are good places to start. Bergtatt by Ulver as well.
 | Hawks Haha no problem. If you like those let me know and I'll give you some more recs.
 | Kimm Busy as well...March has been really hectic and I'm trying my best not to be overwhelmed and to trust that God doesn't put more on my plate than I can handle. =]
 | Kimm Hey girl, how are you doing?
 | Hawks I know you really like melo-death so do me a favor, listen to Storm of the Light's Bane by Dissection and In the Nightside Eclipse by Emperor and see what you think. It's melodic black metal instead of death metal though. I think you might dig them both if you don't have too much of a problem with production values.
 | AngelofDeath The sad thing is, I think it will sell a lot of copies. Their pandering to mall goths will most likely get them paid lol. New Amon Amarth is pretty great. Better than Twilight, not quite as good as Oden. Glad you're digging Camel so hard.
 | AngelofDeath Don't worry about it. It's no rush at all; I assure you. I am very excited though.
 | Crimson Death Ah, I see. Welcome aboard, madame. There's plenty to love about Sputnik.
 | AngelofDeath I guess I should've asked instead what the flavor options and how much they cost lol. You can send me an invoice or something after I've picked out what I want.
 | Crimson Death Haven't been around here long have you? Vheissu is one of Sputnik's favorite albums. It made #4 on the User Top 100 List. Artist in the Ambulance and Illusion of Safety also made the list, I love both those albums as well. Have you heard their discography yet? Anyway Vheissu is one of the most diverse and powerful albums I've ever heard, definitely in my Top 5.
 | Kimm I know right?! Especially since the majority on this site are Atheist men. At least that's the impression I get. Faith is taken very well on this site - I learned the hard way =z But you know..."The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." That statement becomes more and more obvious to me the longer I'm on this site.
 | Inveigh word. getcha geek on, girl.
 | Inveigh hey sorry for the "dude" thing the other night, I was under the influence of a toxic combination of alcohol and skepticism
 | Defeater Yeah, he's a pretty good drummer. I meant to respond last night, but I got caught up in some drama.
 | Kimm If you haven't figured it out yet, you won't feel very welcome here if you express your faith. That being said, don't lose sight of what's important ;)
