  • Aberf When people say stupid stuff, it's like a dog barking. You don't respond to a dog barking by being to them back (lol). It's gonna be mentally draining. But that's how I've changed my mom's perspective about something. So there's that.
    September 9 08:05 PM
  • Aberf Sup man, I saw your list got about your parents. My advice that actually works for me is to be unfazed about it while staying within your values and treat them normally with respect. Don't bother arguing but discussing is a different story. The problem with those kinds of people are the fact that they won't bother listening to the opposing sides. At that point, any discussion will turn into arguments anyway. So just peace out of there asap.

  • OmairSh Heya dude, how's it going man? Still sane during quarantine? Haha. I'm managing...I think :-P. I was jamming a Pakistani Hard/Prog Rock album and thought you might enjoy a few tracks from it . I've shared a couple in the review, and a few in my first comment, if you're interested :-) (They're on Spotify as well and other music apps) https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/81491/Qayaas-Uss-Paar/

  • BigPleb Isn't that what last.fm is for man? Not weird at all hehe. My scrobbling is being odd lately tho, jamming Opeth as always anyway haha!

    July 8 12:16 PM
  • BigPleb Infant Sausage hahaha, wonder how many variations on that album name there are!
    July 8 12:15 PM
  • Jethro42 Thank you man. My principal difficulty was to properly place both Missa Atropos and March of Ghosts' highlights. I'm pretty sure list would be different if I'd listen to these albums couple more times. For some reasons I have hard time to get into these.

  • Arcade check out his show on IFC if you haven't, it's pretty killer
    January 7 01:33 AM
  • Gyromania just realized your profile picture is octodad hahaha. amazing game
    January 6 05:23 PM
  • TalonsOfFire He's a sarcastic little twit sometimes haha, just don't argue with him about metal or he'll rip your face off, though to his credit he's a lot more reasonable than most users on sput with a pretty awesome sense of humor
    January 6 03:12 PM
  • TalonsOfFire I've only heard their first two, apparently each album gets worse and worse until the new one so, but the debut is amazing
    January 6 03:08 PM
  • insomniac15 No problem! Hopefully you find something to truly enjoy from all those.
    December 13 02:24 PM
  • TalonsOfFire I can see it being better than Demon, both are masterpieces though so I have to hear them both a lot more to make a final opinion
    December 12 12:17 AM
  • insomniac15 Lionize - Jetpack Soundtrack ; Kamchatka - The Search Goes On ; Siena Root - Pioneers ; Villagers Of Ioannina City - Riza ; The Ultra Electric Mega Galactic - Through The Dark Matter ; Mars Red Sky - Stranded In Arcadia. I'm sure some of these you have already checked out.
    December 11 06:59 PM
  • insomniac15 Hey! These are some of my favorite stoner records released this year (some are awesome, some are great/good, but worth checking out). Some are more psychedelic or classic, 70s prog influenced, hopefully you find something interesting - Lo-Pan - Colossus ; Truckfighters - Universe ; Fu Manchu - Gigantoid ; Brant Bjork - Black Power Flower ; Greenleaf - Trails and Passes ; Seven That Spells - IO ; Motorpsycho - Behind The Sun ; Karma To Burn - Arch Stanton (37 minutes of riffs riffs riffs!)
    December 11 06:57 PM
  • TalonsOfFire They definitely seem like an experimental/artsy rock band that I can really dig my teeth into given how much music they've made haha, thanks for the help on where to start
    December 11 02:25 AM
  • TalonsOfFire I love your Gazpacho - Demon review, made me discover my AOTY! They're so overlooked on here and I wanna jam their other stuff, any suggestions on where I should start?
    December 10 07:29 PM
  • Mad. Fair enough bro, I've heard it's not that good anyway. Have you heard Seven That Spells?? That IS good
    November 15 01:27 PM
  • Mad. Yo man, you thinking of reviewing the new Zodiac? It seems pretty sweet so far
    September 21 11:03 AM
  • Mongi123 Haha well that's ok. What don't you like about them?
    June 20 04:18 PM
  • Mad. Basically that guy lost his argument so he just imagined it never happened
    June 13 08:35 PM
  • Mad. Damn fair enough man, but I can't see that at all lol, for me WHBWH is a culmination of everything they'd been working towards and Weather Systems milks that. Judgement is still a hard 5 though.
    June 13 08:34 PM
  • Mad. Damn really on Anathema?! For me Distant Satellites is twice as cheesy as WHBWH, and a lot less interesting
    June 13 11:17 AM
  • NordicMindset is the president actually givin himself up or what
    June 13 12:46 AM
  • NordicMindset I just saw last week's episode today and damn the drone chase was pretty ****in funny
    June 13 12:03 AM
  • Mongi123 Haha yea gotta love the ignorance of some people, even if he is a troll or not. It's sad how people have nothing better to do but come on here and troll us. I could be doing better things right now, but I love talking about music on here with you guys so screw it :)
    June 12 09:54 PM
  • Mad. Damn I know man, and Dreamwalker is another killer. How da hell could you give WHBWH a 3.0!? One of my favourite albums of all time there
    June 12 07:34 PM
  • Gyromania who me? :S
    June 12 06:50 PM
  • Hep Kat have you listened to BFK? prolly his best release, lotsa of bangers on that tape, and it's definitely got the best features of any of his releases
    June 12 05:43 PM
  • Hep Kat it's all good holmes. I just get defensive about him because no one on this site is a true gibbs fan it seems. They only ride pinanta dick cuz of madlib. Buncha dumbass goofys gonna wait 4eva for madvillainy 2 namsayin
    June 12 05:35 PM
  • JamieTwort I know man it's crazy. Whether we'll agree on the album as a whole remains to be seen, somehow I doubt it haha.
    June 2 06:17 PM
  • Mad. Yo man I reviewed this album, i bet you'd dig, it's a bit like Gazpacho: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/62462/Messenger-Illusory-Blues/
    May 25 10:43 PM
  • Gyromania s'all good, man, i still love ya
    May 24 04:46 PM
  • xxm I love your reviews.
    April 29 08:41 PM
  • Mad. I did actually start writing one a couple of weeks ago, maybe I'll finish it some time
    April 26 09:28 PM
  • JamieTwort I dunno man, I'm pretty busy at the moment, I haven't even had a chance to listen to it yet :/ I definitely plan on reviewing it eventually though.
    April 16 04:26 PM
  • Arcade I'll check it out if it's more bluesy. Most of what I've heard from him has sounded way more Hall
    April 2 12:13 AM
  • Arcade i just don't understand the appeal of him, he's always seemed way more pop than blues. He's playing a blues festival in aus and it boils my blood unreasonably lol
    April 2 12:04 AM
  • Arcade Lol who would neg that. I support anything negative to say about John Mayer and his fake blues
    April 1 08:15 AM
  • tommygun agreed man you nailed everything that i found disappointing about the album and it's v well written, nice job
    March 31 12:56 PM
  • Gyromania i think it's ridiculously good tbh. this band is my favourite discovery in recent memory
    March 28 01:01 AM
  • ellexim Checked out your list, then saw the Octodad profile photo-- hell yeah!
    March 25 05:58 PM
  • clercqie Love both. I have everything from The National, one of my favorite bands. Sunbather is mad expensive though. Haven't picked it up yet.
    March 25 09:01 AM
  • clercqie Haha awesome man! It's a fantastic package alltogether, definitely one of the pride and joys of my humble collection.
    March 24 09:20 PM
  • Gyromania lol i give up. basically i said hejira is better than blue
    March 24 03:47 AM
  • Gyromania i would go as far as to say hejira
    March 24 03:47 AM
  • Gyromania lol my posts are being cut off after a few words idk why
    March 24 03:41 AM
  • Gyromania also hejira is SO good. underrated on sputnik
    March 24 03:32 AM
  • Gyromania i think demon is my aoty so far, and i'm eternally grateful that you reviewed it, otherwise i probably never would have checked 'em out. i looked into their album prior to demon and wasn't as into it so i wasn't sure how much further back i should dig in their discog, but i will check out night. seems to be the most popular on sputnik
    March 24 03:31 AM
  • Mongi123 It's like a combination of post rock and indie rock. Please give that a listen man, it's a masterpiece.
    March 24 02:30 AM
  • Mongi123 Off topic, you ever try The Dark Dark Bright by There Will Be Fireworks?
    March 24 02:27 AM
  • Mongi123 Yea just doesn't seem like an album I could wrap my head around. It wasn't bad, just not my thing.
    March 24 02:26 AM
  • Mongi123 Haha. Yea man it's interesting but none of the songs really went anymore for me honestly.
    March 24 01:41 AM
  • Onirium Actually, my username comes from a fantasy rpg, indeed. It's in a World of Darkness campaign I'm doing with my friends. I'm the storyteller, and Onirium is the name of an organization. I found it cool and didn't have any other idea, so...
    March 23 07:54 PM
  • Mad. Or you could do it on one line eh
    March 23 05:59 PM
  • Mad. so what is your ranking? ;)
    March 23 05:43 PM
  • Mad. lol so the others don't even count, eh?
    March 23 04:48 PM
  • Mad. Not feeling it quite yet lol but like all Gazpacho albums it's growing... not sure it's quite as good as MoG or MA yet tho
    March 23 04:12 PM
  • Mad. Yeah it definitely fits better now, but I still thought it was cool when you had Lovecraft in the summary. And well done, you've successfully hyped up the album! I haven't decided my rating yet, need to listen more
    March 23 04:04 PM
  • Acanthus Thanks sir, didn't really set out with a goal of changing the review or anything but I do like the flow of those paragraphs better now; it's a damn fine review.
    March 23 03:45 PM
  • Necrotica Dude, check my last list. It's all about Battle Network as a series :D Yeah, I was wondering who would finally get the profile pic reference
    March 22 05:06 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Thanks man, the 70's are my favorite decade, bar none. Imo, Rock music peaked during that period of time.
    March 21 10:41 PM
  • Mad. It's pretty awesome, much artier than their latest two and so much atmosphere. I've only listened twice and I can't quite work out my rating or thoughts because it's such an odd album but feel free to review it if you can, I'll help you get featured
    March 21 08:00 AM
  • Insurrection Theyve been sitting in my iTunes for months but I havent gotten around to them yet. So much music to check out ya know
    February 15 09:57 PM
  • Insurrection Thanks, can't go wrong with any maudlin really. Still gotta check Toby's other projects
    February 15 09:54 PM
  • TwigTW Earthless was an excellent Rec. Thanks!
    January 31 07:51 PM
  • Antonius I would suggest you to listen to Gentlemans Pistols, The Temperance Movement, Gov't Mule or Wolf People seeing your taste in retro/blues rock
    January 25 02:26 PM
  • Funeralopolis Thanks man, would recommend 5ing electric wizard for sure it let's people know you mean serious business.
    January 4 09:42 PM
  • jdennis31 lol yea. I started the first episode at home and my roommate walked in and said "dammit, i can't watch this again, the people in this show are despicable. it's a good show though." I just turned it off haha.
    January 4 03:14 PM
  • JamieTwort I like Jimmy Page, he's a great guitarist, but for me he doesn't have that special something that a lot of my favourite guitarists have.
    December 26 04:55 PM
  • BigPleb ha I'm being silly dude :p
    December 18 01:41 PM
  • Keyblade Yeah they rule too. So do Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation. Can't go wrong with that sound
    December 14 05:19 PM
  • Keyblade Yeah it's amazing dude. Think I like SM more tho
    December 14 05:15 PM
  • BigPleb HA yeah, can't do anything round here anymore!
    December 14 05:12 PM
  • BigPleb Liked it on first listen but it just grew with every listen. Don't take what I say to heart though, I'm a helpless fanboy haha :/
    December 14 05:09 PM
  • Mad. Unmissable http://humanfly.bandcamp.com/album/awesome-science-2
    December 10 06:13 PM
  • Gwyn. Not a problem, I nearly did the same before I figured I'd read the OP before doing anything.
    November 26 10:03 PM
  • Mad. Make sure you give the Octopus some more listens, it's a massive grower
    November 17 01:29 PM
  • Gyromania nice ratings btw - all your 5s are at least 4.5 or higher for me (barring kind of blue - can't get into a lot of older jazz, but bitches brew is fantastic)
    November 3 02:59 AM
  • Gyromania Not really, but it's no big deal. I have a shiiiiiiiit tonne of 5s but ratings are ultimately arbitrary
    November 3 01:37 AM
  • Mad. You request it in the Meds thread (Site Forum
    October 26 10:43 PM
  • Acanthus Ignoring numbers and going by the word rating, I can easily see it just being average for many people.
    August 29 01:14 AM
  • Acanthus Glad I could help! I'm just curious to see what rating will end up being featured.
    August 29 12:22 AM
  • Acanthus Thanks, I only listened to it once but it just wouldn't hold my attention. I'd attempt a review (still might) but I think there's going to be enough of them already.
    August 29 12:15 AM
  • OmairSh Heh yeah, people who otherwise in public are passive aggressive use the internet as a release, fantastic.
    August 3 05:54 AM
  • JamieTwort Haha, Heritage does seem to be an opinion-dividing album.
    August 2 02:39 PM
  • SitarHero It'll take time. Eventually public opinion will come around. I'm pretty surprised that Themata is so highly rated.
    July 24 03:11 PM
  • SitarHero I'm just having fun with him cos I might be a little drunk. I'm done now though. I thought it would be entertaining, but I was wrong.
    July 19 06:42 PM
  • menawati you are welcome, was nice review
    July 3 09:21 PM
  • Vakarian12 Ashes took a while to grow on me, Falling Snow and Limbs needed no growing though. Also you should check out The Morningside - The Wind, The Trees and The Shadows of the Past. Sounds like Agalloch and Brave Murder Day era Katatonias love child lol
    July 3 05:34 PM
  • Artuma good choice, i can see no sensible reason why you would consider it weaker than their other stuff, maybe it will click with you at some point
    July 3 05:24 PM
  • Vakarian12 I guess it's just one of those albums you either 'get' or you don't, much like all Agalloch releases really haha. Ah well, try giving it another go!
    July 3 05:19 PM
  • Artuma yeah well, different opinions dude even though your opinion is not the most usual :P The Mantle clicked for me pretty much instantly, Ashes is sweet too but haven't checked their other material yet
    July 3 05:18 PM
  • Vakarian12 nah plenty of people like their other albums over Mantle, a 3.5 just seems way too low for it is all
    July 3 05:12 PM
  • JamieTwort No problem, man.
    June 29 04:43 PM
  • omnipanzer I honestly think think half the country or was really pissed about bush getting into office and then staying in office and now it's become a back and fourth of rubbing each others face in sh1t and screaming " I win I win". I really want us to get back to most people being in the middle with a general leaning in one direction or the other. towing the party line is for idiots.
    March 21 06:57 PM
  • omnipanzer agreed, he definitely took a page from Bush's administration particularly when it comes to campaigning. I live in Ohio and the bull s*** election adds that we were carpet bombed with for what seemed like a year (probably 6 months) were just atrocious on both sides. I wanted to smash my head in with a Lodge brand cast iron skillet.
    March 21 06:55 PM
  • omnipanzer I'll take it under advisement sir. I tend to think more locally than I do globally. I think way to little attention is given to the atrocities at home. Why in the world would you fund an initiative to feed people in Africa when your own children are still starving at home, for example. Admittedly... I would be horrible at foreign affairs myself. :-P
    March 21 06:29 PM
  • oltnabrick lol i was just joking with you. its all good
    March 20 06:39 AM
  • anarchistfish article looks fine from where I'm sitting, but there's nothing you can really do if for some reason the site's gonna go weird on you
    March 19 07:13 PM
  • anarchistfish what band is it for?
    March 19 06:22 PM
  • anarchistfish no idea. if the coding for the link doesn't work I would just leave the link bare.
    March 19 06:17 PM
  • anarchistfish for news articles [A][/A], although if you edit them in they might not always work cos editing news articles seems to mess the coding up
    March 19 06:13 PM
  • Iluvatar You will have to ask someone else, as I have not written a news article/anything requiring more than basic code on the site in years.
    March 19 06:13 PM
  • Iluvatar If it's an official announcement through an official band page, then that is fine as a source to all of my knowledge.
    March 19 06:09 PM
  • SgtPepper Oh, well that's good news. Let me know when it's done, I look forward to reading it.
    March 19 05:23 AM
  • kris. it's truly unforunate, but they do exist.
    March 18 06:56 PM
  • silentpotato But its different for everyone, i just feel that personally i have expanded my musical perspective far enough to get a strong indicator as to whether or not an album has the potential to become something i'd enjoy very quickly
    February 5 05:36 AM
  • silentpotato Loveless is overrated as **** anyways. Its best not to heed my ratings to closely, often they aren't a strong indicator of my actual feelings haha. I have loveless 4'd because i recognize its influence and that when it comes down to it its an excellently crafted album, but when it comes down to it, not really my thing either.
    February 5 05:35 AM
  • silentpotato i think music can click but usually for me it isnt the music that i straight up do not like at all right off the bat. its more music i feel neutrally about or am unsure of or dont quite get that clicks later on. if i genuinely dislike something off the first couple listens i dont think theres much chance its going anywhere.
    February 5 02:27 AM
  • silentpotato indeed, and you like Ai Di Meola, i approve
    February 5 02:19 AM
  • Mad. No problem man. You should check out the band "Zodiac N Black" - I added them to the database a couple of weeks ago and they're down the same street as "Zodiac".
    December 31 08:25 PM
  • SgtPepper No problem. Your review was great and I'm currently listening to "Diamond Shoes" from the album you reviewed. I have to say, I'm loving this song. It's so good. The guitar work especially. Keep reviewing, man, you have a real knack for it.
    December 31 08:00 AM
  • Voivod There are plenty of albums to do so, that's for certain.
    December 31 07:53 AM
  • Voivod Cheers mate and a happy new year :-)
    December 31 07:51 AM
  • Chortles I think it's the opposite with me and ulcer lol, bergtatt drew me in, and I didn't like perdition city nearly as much. Hope you end up enjoying it though man, I absolutely adore it
    December 31 07:17 AM
  • BaselineOOO Only 4.0 for the new Steven Wilson album? I literally hate the guy but this album is incredible. :P
    September 24 10:14 AM
  • FearThyEvil Its one of my favorite songs by Tool along with The Patient, Pus***, and the Bottom.
