| DaveyBoy I am the manliest. Its all that metal I listen to. LOL.
| DaveyBoy Easy, Lance. In the Meds thread in the forums, simply ask. Obviously don't be pushy or anything like that, but a nice ask is usually considered, and if the review is timely with the LP release, usually granted. BTW, its a fantastic idea and it will quickly get you considered for promotion. Remember that Sobhi was one of the quickest promotions to staff simply because he reviewed hip hop and not many others did the same. Good luck with it all.
| Scoot there aren't, only cleans. it's a lot like isis
| Scoot check the band out fool
| Activista anti-MTV "Rise" is really good. It's on par with "Letter2" in my books. Great stuff as always Lance, I will catch you later. Looking forward to more hip-hop reviews

| Urinetrouble wait let me rephrase this: I won't listen to it because i like 90s rap, but i don't like guys who try to emulate it rather than push the boundaries of hip-hop
| Urinetrouble i like 90s hip hop but i dont suck its dick like every other user
| Urinetrouble I just don't want to listen for some reasonmight it in the futurebut it looks eh
| Activista anti-MTV okay I finished my review man, i can let you read it before everybody else, seeing as yours is still on the front page?

| daIceman http://nachopicasso.bandcamp.com/Seattle again, taste it's FREE
| Stokes I did use a screenshot of the site to make that grey by the way. ;) It's weird on some computers it looks fine, but on others it's off.
| taxidermist Ha, yeah. I actually never paid attention to the gray until you mentioned it. I can see the difference, but only when I pay attention to it. Scrolling down, it's barely noticeable :p
| Nikkolae perfect album title if you ask me
| taxidermist I thought it was ok. Haven't looked closely, I guess I didn't make the gray background, though. Stokes voluntarily did it for me.
| Ire lol i love your monogrim soundoff
| daIceman hehe, you like it? I really not a big fan of "XXX" by Danny Brown (decent LP) but this is much much better, slowly becoming a Danny Brown fan :D
| daIceman Black Milk and Danny Brown 10tracks EPstream: http://soundcloud.com/blackmilksoundcloud/sets/black-and-brown/ENJOY!

| Aids not much man just writing a long overdue blog post. et tu?
| ThyCrossAwaits Definitely, if you're down with bouncing around with Pabst-soaked hipsters. Strfkr be seriously catchy.
| ThyCrossAwaits It was rather awesome. Their vocals are always drowned out by the huge electronica, but at the end of the show the bassist started throwing s*** onstage and then punched security.
| Scoot yyeeeeeah man nice work
| DaveyBoy Well you know that my number one album of the year is on there in Givers. Umm, have you heard The Joy Formidable album. That is top 5 for me. Also, I was gonna ask you if you think I will like Beirut. Is it catchy.
| AliW1993 Glad you liked them man. That Wild Beasts record is my album of the year so far.
| daIceman Hahaha, good luck with recruiting, I saw on subpop website they will be in seattle 21. october, it's going close, around 14 days. You havent seen them before? I saw they performed in Seattle for many, many times...anyway I really wish you to see them live finally

| daIceman Yesterday I was in Prague at Stimul Festival because Shabazz palaces performed there.BEST LIVE SHOW EVER !!! Also butterfly is one of the coolest guy ever. Catch tickets on Seattle show, it's worth it... peace bro

| savagecabbage well, based on that conversation I would rec these but I'm positive you've heard them before. I'm new here and am still getting my library up to par.
Santana - Abraxas
Do Make Say Think - You you're a history in rust
Sleepy Sun - Fever
| savagecabbage yes, many good times, some strange, some terrifying, but you know, things pass.
| savagecabbage Did you hear that....it was my mind, being blown. The doughnut man, the ****ing doughnut. I always knew it....

| Hawks Haha nah man it's all good. I'm not leaving the site, just gonna be posting a little less. I'll still be around. No hard feelings at all.
| Spec ****ing women eh. Keep your head up.
| Scoot np brah, bitches aint s*** but hoes n tricks
| PinkElephants All good man, s*** happens. And I know...you feel like you like the person, then you get dumped, and you wonder what you just wasted your life on. Cliche city: Time heals all wounds. If you want it in a more direct tough love way....no biggie, you'll get over it. lol just listen to some music, live life like nothing happened, and before you know it, another girl will be all about you :) good luck man.
| Puzzles haha dude I was making a joke, see: my username, Puzzles, the song, Stuck On The Puzzle? Sorry about that ahha
| Emim Gotta love some Slug to release some anger. **** YOU LUCY, FOR DEFINING MY EXISTENCE, **** YOU AND YOUR DIFFERENCES
| sleepyhead 'Little Smoke' is a killer track! I really hope the rest of the album is of the same standard
| North0House2 Ah yeah, for sure about that. I think it's gonna be my favorite album of the year. I've listened to most of the tracks, since they've been floating around the web for awhile, but I'm waiting to listen to the whole thing in its entirety when it's officially released.
| AggravatedYeti it is certainly one of the most important of the last century no ****ing question. I saw (what I figure is) a replica about 3 years back. For all the bulls*** hurled at the Readymades it was still an impressive looking toilet. I mean at least he picked a visually stimulating porcelain buddy.
| sleepyhead cheers for the rec dude. i've listened to two songs already and will check out the whole album at some point. apparently it's an improvement over their debut.
| WooHa Mayne, if i enjoyed sampling to such a point then i would probably regard Madvillainy as the greatest album in the whole music. But that's ok with me, you can like whatever you want (of course!). My favorite album this year? Hmm probably House Of Baloons (by The Weeknd). Well, it's a mixtape but when you listen to it you think that you are listening to an album.
| daIceman Czech republic I know my english sucks :D
| mothercountry I know, I saw your featured list nice work dude. It is really good, I think it'll end up being a 4.5. Probably in the top 3 for me.
| daIceman Now I finish Listen Beastie Boys LP. Acttualy its pretty good, and yes Beats are really really creative its not typical hiphop beats its something "new" funny to listen. Thx for tip. After youre listening give me your feedback on "Rebel Yellow"
| daIceman Sounds great ! I like creative hiphop. I mean mixing it with other genres. going to listen that.Maybe you want to listen "Cecil Otter - Rebel Yellow" so much digging on this album right now its awesome
| daIceman Nope, but in near future i am going to listen, I saw a few reviews and it seems pretty dope, you like it?
| Meatplow All sheep ****ing jokes should be directed at the user below me.I live near our capital, Canberra. My favourite Australian export is probably Nick Cave, but he ****ed off over to Britain before he got big anyway so probably doesn't count
| Deviant. I do dig it, the first half is some of the best stuff I've heard all year. The second half just lets it down. And while it isn't a completely terrible second half it's just so obviously inferior when stacked up against the first half. But like I said in the soundoff the Beastie Boys are no strangers to living out their welcome
| Deviant. I fail to see how my opinions on something can be wrong. And it's not unsubstantial; the album starts off well, and with the exception of 'Lee Majors Come Again' everything from 'Long Burn The Fire' is merely okay, unlike the first half is flat out amazing
| Meatplow I suppose so, here in Australia people refer to Winfield brand of cigarettes as Winnie, Winnie Red and Winnie Blue etc. where are you from?
| Meatplow o s***, that is pretty badass. my middle name is Winfield, lol
| Meatplow what's the b for? badass? Lance "Badass" Ramsay
| Meatplow thanks man. does yours read as Lance B Ramsey, or Lance Bramsey I can't decide?
| cirq :/ yea, frank is my favorite member of OF.. check out his lonny breaux collection, maybe it'll change your mind.....unless youre just not into r
| cirq yeeeea! still dont like your frank ocean review! ahah
| AggravatedYeti haha, you didn't offend me and of course I understand it is your opinion. As I said: chock it up to agreeing to disagree : )
| julesequalslove French movies. Jeux D'enfants, Le Faut de Fidel, Amelie.. also like Ira
| AggravatedYeti always been on the fence about Raveonettes but many have told me to check out their new album. Also: I own this shoutbox.
| AggravatedYeti I was busy before, and I've grown tired of elongated debates about opinion over the internet. But I do not think you're an assclown so figured I owed you an explanation for my previous comments.
| AggravatedYeti beyond that I think you took specific lyrical lines out of context and broke them apart on the grounds of good literature: which is not a very keen way of going about assessing music imo. Two very different monsters lyrics and literature.
| AggravatedYeti to elaborate: rhyming is a mechanism used in song-writing to compliment (or accentuate) melody and harmony. It is no more or less successful than any other form of song-writing. It is all about the artist. When concerning modern pop/rock music and in general poetry, rhyming helps create vocal-rhythm; which in turn can aid in a given works ease to remember. But such a sweeping statement as "It makes music catchy, thus memorable" is a bit far fetched. And who said "catchy" is inherently good?
| kingsoby1 cool i posted on it. yeah some seattle stuff is good, but im not too familiar. Common Market is decent.
| kingsoby1 not much this year, but Onry Ozzborn - Hold on For Dear Life was really good. Dark Time Sunshine - Vessel was incredible. By default I also have to rec El-P, Cannibal Ox, and Company Flow to everyone b/c El-P is god and i am his messenger. saw you didn't have any of those rated, so have fun.
| kingsoby1 unfortunately the best resource for that is not at sputnik. check out rateyourmusic.com's hip-hop chart; you can custom tailor it to show hip-hop from each year, all time, per decade, whatever you like: http://rateyourmusic.com/customchart
| kingsoby1 thanks man. hows that pains of being pure record? need to check it probably
| letsgofishing So anyway man....You got to check these guys out. (The lyrics are in South African, don't let that throw ya)http://bombino.bandcamp.com/album/agadez
| iFghtffyrdmns thats so messed cause I checked the link after I posted it the 2nd time, weird. click the link that's there now and then click on the "Review a Random Album Game" list just so you can see how he did it, it was pretty cool. anyways, things that need reviewing that are worth reviewing: The Features - Exhibit A, Wingnut Dishwashers - Never Trust A Man Who Plays Guitar, Kevin Devine - Split the Country, Split the Streets. you could start with any/all of those, lemme know if you cant find any of them
| iFghtffyrdmns and then I said afterwards that maybe someone else will do another list like it soon, or if you're really looking for something random to review that bad I could surely rec you something that needs a review haha
| iFghtffyrdmns s*** I'm sorry I sent you the wrong link and then the rest of my comment apparently got cut off? here's the correct link, hopefully:http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=428565

| STOP SHOUTING! better is yuck or the jesus and mary chain (darklands).
| balcaen really? s***. i was waiting for it to end the whole time. band hasn't really done anything of substance since young mountain. not sure why i bothered.
| balcaen nope. solar bears =/= solar bearor even solar polar bear. i hear they get mistake for those two bands alot.
| Cheesesandwich2 I think i found it looking through Amoeba music, and the album cover looked interesting.
| Aids yah I saw that, I haven't been at my home computer for a bit and I'm at work right now but I plan on listening to it tonight sometime.
| Aids hey man sorry it took so long but I just checked out that review of yours. it's really good and makes me want to get the album, if fact I probably will.
| KeithStone582 I am planning on listening to it I just gotta a lot of stuff I need to listen to first, but from what I have heard, it sounds great.
| AggravatedYeti Not a problem. And yes, as it is currently structured a influences list wouldn't exactly work. I'm always trying to promote classic indie-pop, doesn't get enough love.
| WashboardSuds yeah no problem man. I personally thought the review was solid, couldn't find anything really wrong with it.
and sure, I'll give it a spin when I get the time
| conradtao yeah, it skips around on the first track. at the moment that's the only leak available, as far as i know - sorry!!
| conradtao http://www.mediafire.com/?1i8v625cd4ujmjm
| Aids will do man, not tonight because I'm about to go out but I'll give it a look while I nurse my hangover tomorrow
| theacademy i dont 5 for free... u gotta 5 emery in shallow seas first
| iFghtffyrdmns yeah! it sounded pretty much exactly how I expected to based on your review....it's pretty good, in my opinion a little too regurgitated sounding and perhaps a few decades too late but still cool. I'll see if it grows on me with additional listens when I have more time.
| letsgofishing Hey, You, Period Gestapo. Check out my latest review, and tell me if it reads easier for you. Admittedly there are still some large sentence (cough, cough, the end of the 1st paragraph) but for the most part, I think it should be better. Thanks for riding me man. People like you are making me kick-ass at this.
| YetAnotherBrick I don't know if he was being serious, but if he was yeah, definitely. This site definitely has a fair share of assholes, lol.
| YetAnotherBrick Actually no, this is the alternate account I'm using now, because my main account, BringMeABrick got banned. The joke is that another user, AnotherBrick, told me on my BringMeABrick account that there's "only room for one brick on sputnik," so that's why I named this account what I did lol
| RyanWilson Thanks man, shall give it a listen soon hopefully, I'll try not to forget. I also badly need to listen to the Angelic Process soon
| RyanWilson Honoured. Now rec me something beautiful, good sir
| Aids I've heard of people trying before. I'm not sure if I've ever talked to someone who was successful. You'd have to sneak in each day too, which would kind of take the fun out of the mornings (pre-drinking/whatever). If you end up camping there let me know, we can meet up and I'll help you plan your break-in haha.
| Aids will you be camping at the Sasquatch campsite?
| Aids oh wow good luck, let me know how that goes. I'm from Vancouver Island, I just think Sasquatch is worth the trip, especially this year.
| Inveigh say what you will, at least it's an ethos
| Aids I am going to Sasquatch, why do you ask?
| thebhoy cool man thanks, I'll check them out.
| letsgofishing Hey man, thanks for the shout-out. Twas really cool of ya.
| EyesWideShut Hey theres nothing better than chilling out or getting laid to some Fiona Apple. Check out some of her stuff, its good.
| combustion07 Oh, I try to stay openminded and give everything a chance.
| combustion07 Realistically it's probably 10% hip-hop. I don't really rate things here often so pie chart is way off.
