 | DeafMetal I was making a pun on my username. If I were you I probably wouldn't blast my music at full volume.
 | Satellite well i don't really do it all that often tbh. but i live in an apartment complex consisting almost entirely of college kids, so the noise is sort of commonplace. sometimes i feel like, "well these other assholes are always making noise, so why should i have to keep things quiet?" and i assume everyone else is thinking the same thing, so it just sorta perpetuates. i have had people complain a couple times but it's usually just like "hey man, i'm studying, can you keep it down for a little bit?"
 | Yotimi I'm more partial to later MR, but tbh I don't think I've ever listened to Yerself is Steem
 | Yotimi haha, yeah Mercury Rev are great. I like pretty much any band David Fridmann has produced.
 | ConsiderPhlebas My point is specifically to do with a band that had a developed philisophical position within a genre they felt drawn to. The type of riffs they played, the fact that they didn't sound like Black Flag or Minor Threat - these things are immaterial. They chose to play aggressive punk music, to challenge and provoke. 'Hardcore' actually describes something, in this sense. What does 'post-hardcore' describe? It's cosmetic, hollow and pointless categorization.

 | 05McDonaldT It's nice to know there are users on here who aren't elitists
 | 05McDonaldT Hi, thanks for the post in my profile, i agree with you yeah, i don't understand the backlash against At the gates especially. Once you get past the whole image thing Bring me the horizon are a very good band and one of the more interesting ones around at the moment too.
 | ConsiderPhlebas Again, it's insulting to the artist. And I don't care what you alone think, I just find it slightly frustrating that so many people on here focus more on genre labels than music. The fact is that many bands, Refused included, despise the term 'post-hardcore', just as many instrumental bands despise the term 'post-rock', and yet people keep shoe-horning them into them as if they have any concrete meaning. If the artist is so opposed to it, what use does it serve? What's wrong with 'hardcore'?
 | promiseswept hahahah for sure. it seems like everyone needs to be so elitist and ****ing politically correct about music on this site. which is stupid because the very reason for music is to listen to what you like and judge it on your own accord. keep it up we need more people like you lol
 | xenocide. just kidding. look at my latest list.
 | qwe3 nah man it was an awful review. i personally found all the jokes to be cringe-worthy and the thing is after all the people telling him that it wasn't a good idea to keep them in this was his response "i'll keep them in. i'm sure someone will find them funny." but yeah i sorta found it fun
 | Spec Ahh well, good list anyways.
 | Mordecai. well it's still a pretty big an unjustified claim, but you have worded and expressed it much better this time so i forgive you. don't test my temper again. anyway, cave/birthday party are awesome so kudos for putting them on the list
 | Mordecai. i wasn't criticising your terrible sentence structure, i was just letting you know how dumb your claim about the birthday party being the first band to channel intense emotion through their music is
 | GeorgeCostanza well thanks. in all honesty my review IS ridiculously pretentious, but in deliberately absurdist manner. you're right, though -- most users of this site seem to think the only acceptable style to write in is this sh.itty knowing-yet-conversational hip tone, offering these really shallow reflections along the way. i'll check out your reviews
 | Zion Nice, I just found out I can download the entire album for 3 bucks on Amazon, doing it now.
 | Zion Hey do you have any links to that album? I've been looking for it everywhere to try it out but haven't been able to find it. Found about everything else by them but not it. I hate buying things before knowing if I'll actually listen to them more than once or not...
 | Zion It grew on me in the sense that I am also prone to using overly deive language at times, so I understood what you were getting at. Generally when I listen to good music I find it to be a full sensory experience, with imagery, memories, etc. Especially music with good layers, or textures. I have at times compared a song to things as lofty as you did in the review.
 | Zion To be honest man I wouldn't have checked out that band if it wasn't for your review, so I guess it served its purpose well enough. I'll have my neg removed for that reason. I suppose if those were your first word choices I certainly can't fault you for your extended vocabulary.
