  • Puzzles Hey man, can I suggest that you check out the band Over-Reactor? I wrote a review for their first record recently, which hasn't actually come out yet. Here's a link to download it: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9Y3C9GAD. They're releasing it August 9 for free anyway, so might as well get it now. It really is one of the best records I've ever listened to, consider yourself lucky for stumbling onto it. But let me know what you think, anyway.

  • JesusV4 I was never that intoQueens of the Stone Age. R is definitely a good album though, I'll check out your rec.

  • Puzzles Funny you should mention that, I'm listening to Hermano's "Into the Exam Room" at the moment.. it's pretty good, but it's not really much of a Stoner album, it's just labelled that because JG is the frontman. I think I like Unida's Urban Coyote a little more - it's heaps rawer and You Wish just ****ing kills. But yeah, I'm a fan of Oliveri's QOTSA work.. so i might look into it.

  • Puzzles Far out man, your taste in music is ****ing amazing. Everything in your favourite bands, I love, and Alice in Chains' Dirt happens to be my favourite record of all time.

  • crazyblinddude err i mean the bands name is "say anything". but yes elliott smith is the s***. man doesnt have one bad song. and every one of his albums is at least a 4. XO is my personal fav for him.

  • crazyblinddude yeah thats one of my favorite albums. its the essential 90's emo album imo. i would snag a physical copy if you get the chance. but if not you can still enjoy it from online somewhere. the whole album is kinda depressing in a way, but its too good to pass up. check out say anything too if you havent already also.

  • crazyblinddude thanks dude. youll get there pretty soon. your ratings are a lot like mine were when i first joined. nin is still my fav though. lots of good stuff to find on this site that you wouldnt be able to find if you didnt have access.

  • JesusV4 Try out their later stuff. It's heavier. Houses of the Mole and Rio Grande Blood have more in common with Slayer than Psalm 69. Animositisomina is my fave - Very heavy, but dance-oriented. Filth Pig is more similar to Godflesh - Industrial sludge. Nobody does industrial better than Ministry, except maybe NIN... Gotta tell ya though, I like Ministry better!

  • JesusV4 Which albums have you heard?
    July 18 10:31 PM
  • JesusV4 You should also try Ministry.

  • JesusV4 Demanufacture I like better than Obsolete. They're good, just don't expect anything NIN good. I would rec Strapping Young Lad for something in the vicinity of FF but better. They actually have one of FF's drummers.

  • JesusV4 The closest NIN has come to a bad release was With Teeth, and even that was pretty good. I love Year Zero, and the slip is great too. Since the ep is free I gotta check that out!

  • JesusV4 I was pretty disappointed by Fear Factory. They're good, but the lrics are unintelligible half the time, and the other half, they're repetive and annoying. All the heavy sound is awesome, but it can only reach true heights if there's ome intelligent lyrical direction. Have you heard any other FF?

  • JesusV4 Thanks, same to you. Still is a subsequent release spawned from what album? How do you like How to Destroy Angels? And I see Black Light Burns in the industrial slice of your pie; are they any good? lol, sorry for the 20/20, but I've been on a rabid industrial binge lately!

  • greg84 Hey. Thanks. I like your taste as well. You should perhaps expand it. There are a lot of opportunities to do it on this site. It's strange we aren't neighbors.
