 | Inveigh haha yep, but not hip hop like Wu-Tang, Nas or Biggie. I describe it as indie hip hop with alternative/punk-ish influences. Lots of singing and live instruments to go with the beats and rhymes. A lot of people call it "hip hop for people that don't like hip hop" which I think is a little unfair to actual hip hop fans, but you get the idea
 | Jethro42 Sorry for these miscommunications man. English is a bitch for me sometimes. I meant an alternative to isohunt...another safe and generous site to find everything or so. Do you know about 'Torrent Reactor'? They kinda have lots of stuff I'm interested for, but there is a ****ing message that warns me of the danger of being sued. I'm tempted to download anyway. Should I...
 | Inveigh yeah I'm generally not a huge prog fan, although I love Opeth and Pink Floyd. Animals As Leaders are pretty cool too. I liked Dream Theater in high school, but haven't listened to them in about 8 years. We shall see my friend.
 | Jethro42 what I mean is that I can't find all the music I'm searching for. I wonder if you use an alt or something, to cover all your needs.
 | Inveigh which Mayan Factor album should I start with?
 | Jethro42 I don't get everything I want with isohunt. Is there anything else you could suggest to me ?
 | bungy ahaha that guy is awesome
 | bungy Haha I don't even know why he likes me at all
 | bungy Oh...yeah the album gets boring to me a lot, but is still great. Anesthetize is like the best song ever.
 | bungy Aren't you gonna go back to your old profile?
 | sublimefan1991 yea no problem man, then you can some of the music you make. oh wait...
 | sublimefan1991 ...keyboard, bass, and sing, so feel free to try to act all above me musically, but i'm pretty sure when it comes to actual musical talent, it's not even ****ing close.
 | sublimefan1991 hahaha alright guy if you wanna start s***ting on me and saying "sublime fan's back," i feel as though you should get shat on as well. if you really spend ****ing hours on some website per day, have 2 accounts for it, and feel like you have the most important/correct thing to say about everyone else's opinions, then go for it. you can s*** on me all you want, but i actually do the things you probably wish you did but can only critique - ACTUALLY PLAY MUSIC. guy i ****ing play guitar, drums,

 | Meatplow Can't say I do, sorry. I added it probably a month ago, we've been updating the database with albums listed on RYM and discogs and that was one of them.
 | Meatplow A while back when we were just starting with the database thread, yeah.
 | Jethro42 Question, Brick: If you don't want all albums condensed into a single torrent, is it be possible to remove some?
 | Jethro42 nope. I see you've added them to the database. I'll check them out bro. Another famous 70's italian band: Le Orme. But Premiata Forneria Marconi are the best prog band Italia have ever produced.
 | Jethro42 haha I'm glad you took the time to appreciate them. They are awesome. The second best italian prog band, after PFM. I knew the vocals could be a turn off. But they have some epic instrumental gems, man. Just telling you.
 | Jethro42 Hey what's up young man! I've read on a Mayan Factor thread that your fav track is Hopi Elders. The minute I've heard that song, it reminds me a Finisterre's song (another modern prog band)Unfortunately, the original version is better. Enjoy anyway. ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zl9VS4bKpcE
 | bungy Your pie chart is awesome
 | Jethro42 After Crying dude. You can pick up ''Struggle For Life, Essentials'' by isohunt. Album finishes with John Wetton singing and playing bass in a KC cover. (Starless!!) And what I've you tubed to you was a short excerpt of my all time favorite 20 min songs. It's called 'A Gadarai Megszallott''
 | Jethro42 Only an excerpt of an EPIC song that lasts over 22 min. And YES Now I understand all this love you feel for Mayan Factor. Blackfield are georgeous too. I'll soon check out Pure Reason Revolution. I feel like a kid in a toy store!
 | Prophet178 Yeah, most of the Silver Mt Zion stuff is spoken word, He Has Left Us Alone and Kollaps Traditionales are my favorites. You would probably love Slint - Spiderland. Maybeshewill uses a bunch of samples. Sparrows Swarm and Sing - Untitled #2 is really good too. Ummm ILikeTrains is all spoken word. Thats all I can think of right now.
 | Jethro42 omg omg omg, listen to this NOW ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y6jtpQMJsU
 | Prophet178 I know the intro to Dead Flag Blues was done by the band, and I think some of the other samples on F# were done by members of the band. But most of the samples come from radio and TV from what I've heard. Like the "Where are you going" part in F# comes from the movie Godspell. Don't know anything about Chart #3 unfortunately, I would think it was either staged by the band or maybe a street preacher. You should check out the forum After The Post Rock, they have a lot of topics on Godspeed.
 | Jethro42 Hey Brick! Thanx again, I got full house of surprises out there. I'm quite sure you'd love 'After Crying'. A modern sympho prog with some ELP and KC influences here or there. Cheers
 | Prophet178 I believe the guy speaking went by the name of "Blaise Bailey Finnegan III" and he recited the lyrics to the Iron Maiden song Virus in that interview that the band sampled for the song. I don't think the band were consciously trying to connect themselves to Maiden or Blaise, but rather use a fitting sample for the song. I still wonder where that sample is from though.
 | Jethro42 Windows XP, Pentium IV. btw Now I know why The Mayan Factor takes so much space. Both albums are included. Do I take it anyway, or I'd rather wait to get these individually? thx coach :)
 | Jethro42 I tip my hat coach! You make my day!..Now tell me, is it normal if 'The Mayan Factor ''In Lake'ch'' contains 199mb which seems to be way too high compared to others. Also, do you pick up another torrent if it runs to slow?
 | Jethro42 It works!!! YaaaaaaaY!!! I'm so happy! Thanx bro I appreciate!
 | Jethro42 ok Thx for your patience bro. I think I'm near to succeed. I've chosen a torrent, and it says I need to download a utorrent. The other day, I've downloaded a utorrent. Is there a 'red button' somewhere to activate the machine. thx again coach.
 | Jethro42 AH Brick, my savior! :D You know what, I got scared with all that jazz. I wondered if all this was legal and free, etc. IsoHunt no longer exists, so I have not reached the stage to chose myself a torrent. Now all I have is a (left behind) utorrent. And tbh, I'm not really comfortable with sophisticated computer programs. I almost gave up, man. Thx for your help, and for asking me. If you don't know anymore how to help me, don't worry. I have some contacts around. Welcome back dude!
 | tiesthatbind Glad to hear it. I'll say, dude, it's pretty awesome that you listen to a lot of prog but also can enjoy plenty of mainstream stuff too.
 | NeutralThunder12 oh and anything after "Animals" is 'ehh'. "The Wall" is ridiculously overrated, a mess to me. "Dark Side" is important and excellent, but not a classic because of a few weak tracks. "Wish You Were Here" is phenomenal. "Animals" is just unreal. But I'm a guitarist and every Floyd solo attempt sucks and Robert Frippe is a musical genius.
 | NeutralThunder12 yeah i am Progmaster. Uhh and yeah Crimson over Floyd because Fripp
 | tiesthatbind Dude, I finally listened to Scenes From a Memory and it is incredible, I'm giving it a 4.5 after only one listen. Looking at the lyrics and Wikipedia page was the right way to go too.
 | Jethro42 I'll prly get to fix this s*** sometime soon. Thx anyway.
 | NeutralThunder12 The fact that you have Ummagumma and Saucerful above Red and above a 3 is kinda strange but you still have a good taste in music :)
 | Jethro42 My first attempt to download an utorrent failed, then I downloaded utorrent 2.0 wich was very easy to install, but presentation is rather simplistic. And does isohunt have music to offer or something? Apparently its mainpage only has to offer movies and stuff. If I clic on 'music' it goes 'Search returned 0 results''
 | Jethro42 Sounds great! Do I need Winrar or something to make it run? Also, is it easy to burn a cd with a torrent? I hope it won't be stucked in a Winzip forever, tell me.
 | Jethro42 I've never used any Torrent. Just barely heard about it. What about mediafire and rapidshare? Equivalent to limewire..or a torrent?? Man I feel so noob right now...comp is a bitch
 | Jethro42 Calm down haha There's actually a lot to swallow. I'll start with Blackfield, The Mayan Factor and Pure Reason Revolution. The few songs I've heard to date are very interesting. But for some reasons, I cannot reach your limewire alt. Could you re-give to me the link, or simply the name of the software. Thanx Brick
 | Motiv3 alright cool, keep trying and tell me what u think ;) alright ill keep the mayan factor in mind although i have a tonne of other recs as well to go through haha
 | Maniac! yo, thanks for the rec...but i already know the mayan factor ;)
 | tiesthatbind Haha yeah I said that cause your recent tracks were ABBA.
 | tiesthatbind And also, MAMMA MIA! Here I go again. My my, MAMMA MIA!
 | tiesthatbind Yeah I was giving Awake another listen, definitely didn't like it as much as Images and Words, which I have been listening to quite a bit. The next time I know I can listen uninterrupted I'll put on Scenes From A Memory, if it's that good I want to get the full experience.
 | tiesthatbind I'll be sure to do that when I listen. I am downloading the very large file that is their discography as we speak.
 | tiesthatbind Awesome. I hope you enjoy it, it's my favorite album. And I will continue working through Dream Theater's discography, they've really impressed me so far. Just about to listen to Scenes From A Memory.
 | tiesthatbind Sup Brick, ever get a chance to listen to Alter Bridge-Blackbird yet?
 | PayneTiger777 Yeah, I love The Gathering. Only albums I have by them are Mandylion and Nighttime Birds.
 | Jethro42 I thank you sir, I appreciate. You Learn About It is almost as great as Waking Hour :)
 | Jethro42 Okay sorry for the misunderstoods and my broken english when it happens. :P So Yes indeed I've dug the band a lot since last summer. I particularly like HTMAP, Souvenirs and Homes. And a question about Mayan Factor; Is there a way other than You Tube to listen to an album? I'd like to get their best songs in my comp. LimeWire gives me none.
 | Jethro42 You mean my Last FM tracks? If yes, my scrobbler was inactive. I'll fix it soon. btw you can add me if you wish.
 | PayneTiger777 Lol, that's a pretty epic way to get banned. I do like The Dark Third a little bit better, but AVO was great too. I kinda like the electronica in it.
 | cirq I hope you said something worthwhile...
 | cirq Hahah oh you rebel.
 | cirq Hah so why did you get banned?
 | cirq Not really.. But I get a good vibe from you...no homo
 | cirq Welcome to Sputnik!
 | NumbWalrus i think godspeed has a chance to move up. there is no hope for mayan factor though i'm affraid....
 | NumbWalrus hi buddy :) will you be my neighbor again?!?
