 | Voivod Hey man, I think you will like this album - http://nightgaunt.bandcamp.com/releases
 | Voivod Camelo what's up? I have a really special treat for you - http://universe217.bandcamp.com/
 | did you get vinyl yet
 | Voivod I listened to it 2-3 times, it is solid, to say the least, however it will take sometime to write something about the album.
 | Voivod What's the overall style of your band's EP?
 | Voivod Hey, I reviewed this the other day and I think you will like it too - http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/53869/Vinum-Sabbatum-Songs-From-The-Convent/.
 | Inveigh nice, hopefully i can make it man. i will do my best, work's been crazy lately though.
 | Inveigh oh sh*t! love the beat kitchen. what time does the show start?
 | KILL http://www.plug.dj/
 | Vesper Of course, haha. Anyway, talk it over with your bandmates and let me know, if you guys decide you would like my work. :]
 | Vesper Yeah, no problem. Definitely go with the artist you think best expresses your music, which is pretty good, by the way, so no hard feelings on my part if you decide to go with someone else, haha.
 | Vesper Also, things to consider: I don't do digitally rendered images - all hand-drawn, as my services are aimed more at underground bands that don't want stuff like fancy vector art anyway. And for an idea of a price point, I did a CD-size cover in charcoal for another Sputnik user, DarkNoctus, for $50. I tend to lowball services for underground bands that I know can't spare several hundreds or even thousands of dollars on cover art (which is apparently pretty common), so, yeah, prices are negotiable.
 | Vesper Depends on what you guys are looking for - level of detail, medium, and hours being the main factors. So if you guys are looking for a pen drawing with a lot of intricate detail, that would be more expensive because it would take more time than a charcoal drawing. It's hard to give you guys a quote without a more specific idea of the image/style you guys are looking for, so feel free to shoot me an e-mail at rebeccaychung@yahoo.com, if you want to discuss further.
 | Jruined Send me an email @ jessedavidyoung@gmail.com and we can talk more about what you guys need for imagery, pay rate, etc.etc.I'll listen to your link in a bit, I have to finish an image for a deadline.
 | Turtlestlker If I had $20 to throw your way I would, As of now I'm still an unemployed teenager dependent on my parents goodwill to support my hobbies.
 | Turtlestlker Liking that Destroyer of Light album on bandcamp.
 | Wizard If I ever get a chance to sit down and pump one out, I will consider it. I don't usually review too often anymore.
 | JamieTwort No problem man. I'd love to see you guys live but unfortunately that won't be possible as I live in the UK.
 | coneren oh wow i thought you might have taken a little longer to see that. anyways the album is sweet as fuuck
 | JamieTwort Just finnished listening to your EP, it's awesome bro. Seeing as I'm a big fan of bands like Candlemass and Sleep this was right up my alley. Great job dude, keep it up.
 | CaptainDooRight Cool man. I'll think about it. After a few more listens if I feel motivated enough I may do it. Again, congrats on your accomplishment bro :]
 | CaptainDooRight Nice EP bro, very solid. Some really good stand out moments and I enjoyed how you guy's dipped into different genres such as heavy metal and even trash at times. Good work bro :]
 | CaptainDooRight cool, wish i had a dl link but this will work for now. are you having anyone review it?
 | Wizard Btw too, which one is you in the band photo on your bandcamp page?
 | Wizard Thanks for the new tunes. Btw, I absolutely love your music dude!
 | CaptainDooRight oh cool bro, sweet I'll check her out for sure. glad to see you guys finished the album. this is to be considered as an EP correct?
 | rockandmetaljunkie Orange amps ? I have read some great reviews about these amps, but i also have been told that they lack in diversity. So i want to buy a good amp suitable for many styles but mostly for Doom. To give you a better idea of my ideal sound, i want to sounded like Candlemass, or Cathedral, or Early Sabbath.
 | rockandmetaljunkie Thank you !!! I will check the recording once i have some time. It's a good thing that there are some people out there who prefer the slow tempos and the heavy doomy style. Most youngsters prefer to explore the realms of Thrash-Death stuff. I had written some good stuff last summer but i didn't had a recording program or a device or sth else to store my ideas.
 | rockandmetaljunkie Hey dude how are you ? Listen, i'm a big fan of Doom Metal and i want to invest some serious money to buy some proper equipment suitable for this style. I'm thinking of buying a Gibson SG (a guitar used by many profesional doomsters) and a really good Marshall amp. I have been told that the Humbucker pick ups are the best. What would you suggest me to buy ?
 | Kellerdeck You should do some interviews like we've tried to do:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FvC8OOHz4w
 | Kellerdeck Our band is right here, sir. http://sputnikmusic.com/review/49193/Rest-Rest/
 | Hawks Exactly! By far the most emotional album I've ever heard.
 | Hawks No problem at all buddy. You can definitely pull it off. I'm a sucker for those kind of haunting clean vocals in doom. It's the main reason why Watching from a Distance is my favorite metal album of all time.
 | Hawks That's awesome bro. I'm sure you guys will get some attention soon enough. You deserve it, just based on what I heard. Your vocals are fantastic too haha.
 | Hawks Hopefully you guys can get that going soon and get your stuff out there. I feel like a lot of people would enjoy it. Are you the vocalist or do you play an instrument?
 | Hawks That's why I like them so much. Horror movie based lyrics are my favorite. That's one of the main reasons why I love listening to bands like Hooded Menace and Acid Witch. If you get this out let me know and I'll buy a copy for sure.
 | Hawks Hey dude, I know I'm kinda late on this, but I really enjoyed your music. I really love doom that is similar to Warning and Pallbearer and stuff like that and it seems like that's what you're going for. Awesome stuff. Your lyrics are sick too.
 | Wizard I gave two out of the four tracks a listen just now and I was thoroughly impressed. I was wondering if you could send me a link so I could dl it and listen to it on my ipod?
 | Inveigh awesome man, listened to most of them last night and was definitely impressed. If you guys ever end up playing in the midwest somewhere, let me know I'll be there
 | Hawks I probably won't be able to listen to it until Monday. I'm gonna be super busy the next few days, but I'll make sure to let you know what I think once I listen to it a few times. :]
 | Inveigh badass dude, listening to The Swamp now, very cool
 | Hawks I love doom haha. I'll definitely give it some listens.
 | Wizard ****, I can't wait to listen to this. Thank you for that!
 | DeafMetal i will check it out. u should listen to the lamp of thoth n see how satanic doom metal can be
 | CaptainDooRight bro thats so awesome, definitely keep it up and keep me posted on any new songs. I love your guy's style and wish you all the best!!!!
 | CaptainDooRight cool dm band but prefer your new project, the doom stuff. Do you still vocals for the old dm band too or are you just on your new stuff only? also is the drummer on your new doom stuff the same guy as before?
 | CaptainDooRight oh heall yeah I will for sure once I get back to my comp later today, can't wait to hear it!! thanks for sharing!!
 | CaptainDooRight yeah bro it's slow today, what kinda music you written, i wana hear
 | Voivod You can post them in the shoutbox, I guess... Or send an e-mail at: smith66692@yahoo.com.
 | Voivod many thanx for your consideration man, appreciate it.
 | Voivod I bookmarked the site you posted in the Thought Industry Mods Carve the Pig review. Could you upload the band's discog (preferably their last three albums, which i can't find anywhere), preferably in 320 kbps?
 | Inveigh cool cool man, just let me know what time doors open and I'll most likely be there
 | Inveigh nice, what time's your set? are you The Wise Brothers?
 | Inveigh no sh*t! love the elbo! what night?
 | DeafMetal Appreciate it bro, thanks a lot. Can't wait to hear this.
 | Inveigh hmm... well, if you're looking for rar files I always just use mediafire or filestube, but the best way imo is to get utorrent and use www.btjunkie.com (it hides your IP address from your service provider and anyone else)
 | Inveigh hell yes man playing a gig is ALWAYS preferable to going to one
 | Inveigh damn, not too familiar with Trap, but I really like Gaza -- and I love Reggie's. my friend lives like 4 blocks away too... but I'm already going to the Wu-Tang show at Congress on Saturday! why can't you make it?
 | Hawks As of right now it's #2 for me, but after the new Agalloch comes out it's gonna be #3.
 | Hawks Well that was obviously a great choice. New Enslaved is one of the best albums of the year.
 | Hawks I really like it. It's a little bit long and I don't know how you are with really long songs and albums, but if you're cool with them then you'll most likely enjoy it. Pretty similar to bands like Leviathan and Weakling. Lots of ambient and post-metal influences.
 | spiritualbeggars spiritual beggars album is available online now ;)
http://newalbumreleases.net/?p=19822#comment-31572
 | Hawks Haha yeah dude I just noticed and I just thought I'd ask how long you've had it. And yeah it's pretty awesome lol.
 | Hawks Dude how long have you had your avatar? I just noticed that we have the same one and I just changed mine yesterday lol.
 | spiritualbeggars no man, thanks a lot, first time to know it from u, i hope it will be a good album, yeaaaaaaaaa, how would it be with spice back to SB \m/. even i like the current vocal, his not bad at all!
 | spiritualbeggars yea they are amazing man, at least we still have a band that plays real heavy metal!
 | Metalstyles just wanted to say that Greg got me a link to Roachpowder so you're finally off the hook hahahaha
 | greg84 I haven't heard only Lowrider - Ode to Io and Bigelf - Hex... Will surely give them a go. As for my recs: Fatso Jetson - Cruel and Delicious, Archaic Volumes for a more laid-back vibe, Brain Police - Beyond The Wasteland for a more hard rock approach to stoner, and of course my favorite Polish act, Corruption - Bourbon River Bank. Just check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp42oTwDozs . Btw, I linked metalstyles this blog I got Viejo Diablo from.
 | bigguy69 ya i just picked up master of reality and its making me appreciate sabbath alot more, that rating will more than likely rise to at least a 4.5 and im probly gonna get their first real soon, speaking of doom/stoner, im going to see high on fire in ottawa in july and i cant wait, they play with priestess(meh), and skeletonwitch which is pretty sweet too
 | Inveigh yeah man, absolutely let me know when you guys play here, I'll come check it out for sure
 | bigguy69 thanks man i'll look deeper into exhumed, hate, and hate eternal, i have most of the others
 | Inveigh right on man, I liked the stuff I heard from both bands
 | bigguy69 it took me a while to get used to that guitar tone on evisceration but it rules pretty hard. got any brutal recs to make?
 | bigguy69 ya man, you can tell there's work by erik rutan, the guitars sound alot like on C.C.'s Evisceration Plague. I find it interesting how they've mixed influences from bands like Deicide and Necrophagist. definitely sick.
 | bigguy69 i have a feeling i will say the exact same thing about path of fire when i listen to it today
 | ThePalestMexican Haha I'll be sure to give them the listen. Thanks for the recs.
 | ThePalestMexican Hellyeah man, I just recently discovered them, and I was surprised. I've never been a real stoner metal freak, but I LOVE that s***.
 | BallsToTheWall New album is sick. LoVE HOW THEY STAY TRUE TO BLACK METAL YET STILL REMAIN DIVERSE. The Dead Can Dance esqeness of that one track to the clean instrumental sections. Brilliant.
 | bloozclooz what's this with Spawn of Possession and Chalky i hear?
 | Wizard Nice to see your presence around here again man.
 | Metalstyles aight, thanks man, I'll go and continue my research now, talk to you later.
 | Metalstyles woud be appropriate if we would be dealing with doom metal. Atm, it just a nuissance haha. Idk, maybe you can just send it to my mail and be done with it.
 | Metalstyles haha, I don't use AOL either, so it only goes better and better.
 | Metalstyles old school is always stylish haha. Well, if you won't be able to come up with a better version (I know I won't be haha), then my e-mail is tiiger05@hotmail.com. You can send the songs there :)
 | Metalstyles it is a rather big maybe, because I would buy it, but stores down here are rather s*** and probably won't sell it here (I'll still check, though). Plus, I don't have a credit card, so I can't order it off amazon or other sites like it :(
 | Metalstyles hmm, well, in all honesty, I've got this research thingy going on atm, so I really haven't got the time to deal with much other stuff atm. I searched many many torrent sites but they didn't have it. All the blogspots i found it on, had already d the file.
 | Metalstyles hey dude. It's turning out to be a bit of a bitch fining that Roachpowder album haha. Care to help out? Or have you yourself got the original or something?
 | Inveigh agreed, Deftones are one for me. Along with Poison the Well and maybe a few others.. but it's definitely a tough thing to pull off
 | Inveigh Agreed, I mean, all three of the newer ones at least have a couple good tracks, but for the most part they feel over produced, too poppy/cliche and just generally uninspired to me. Then again, it's hard to find too many bands in heavy music that can sustain runs of great albums past 4 or 5 -- usually those are just the legendary bands that can pull that off.
 | Inveigh Chainheart is probably my favorite album by them (Spirits of the Future Sun is a hell of a track too), but I like all of their first 4 discs (Razor Lives off Steelbath is great). Don't care much for the newer stuff.
 | Inveigh I started downloading it last night but fell asleep before it finished. Hopefully it actually finished and I can jam it tonight with a couple brews. I see you've been hitting up some Natural Born Chaos recently, you ever listen to Chainheart Machine or A Predator's Portrait?
 | Wizard Song has such an ass kicking, sludgey thud to it.
 | Inveigh nice I'll hit that up in the next couple of days
 | Wizard It definitely takes a few listens, no doubt about that. The build at the end of 'Dulcinea' is devastating.
 | Inveigh s***ty City Blues owns man, great stuff. Definitely got a dirty, southern/stoner feel to it -- right up my alley dude. I'd love to come see you guys play sometime. You the only guitar player, and you do vocals too?
 | Inveigh Word man, Will Haven sounds like something I'd dig for sure. I'll give them a go tonight after I check out your band's stuff
 | djanus69 I appreciate the fact that you at least attempted to have a civilized conversation. I see that it's hard for people on tihs site to be amture about something. Maybe this site isn't for everyone. Oh well, thank you for at least being mature.
 | Inveigh I feel ya man, I just didn't want ya to think I blew it off. Got distracted by the Bulls then had to take that final before midnight. And still overslept for work, damnit... I'll check it out tonight brother.
 | Inveigh dude I'm sorry, I didn't get a chance to last night. I had an online final to take for my grad class and it took me a lot longer than I thought. I'll definitely check it out tonight -- again, my bad man.
 | Inveigh Yeah man, I've had to add a bunch of bands/artists on here but that's kind of the fun of this site. It's music discovery. I add some bands and people find out about them, and then I find out about other bands I'd never heard of through other users. It's good stuff and there's no need to get bogged down if someone disagrees with your/my opinion, y'know? Discuss and move on is kinda how I feel. But yeah, I liked most of the bands on that list ;-)
 | Inveigh hah, no not me. I was in the middle of posting a long-winded comment on his overrated bands list when the list got d. Then he posted in my shoutbox, haha. I get the feeling that he is someone else in disguise though. "metal is a parody of itself"?! lol, pretty funny stuff
 | Inveigh yeah man, a couple weekends ago my gf's sister and her husband went to a brewery tour and party there.. sounded awesome (he works for a beverage distribution co.) I love me some Mastodon and Sabbath, I'm sure I'll dig your stuff dude
 | Inveigh Yeah, that's probably it. I'm 24, but I was also the oldest one in the group. Kalamazoo, eh? Love me some Bells beer. Can't wait to check out your band's stuff later tonight man
 | Inveigh Oh yeah? I live not too far from DePaul (off Waveland). We did most of our serious gigging in 2004 (and early 2005) and between 2007-2008. Although a lot of it was in the burbs and DeKalb (we all went to NIU), we did play at Memories (northwest side dive bar), the Congress and a couple house parties in the city. We did a lot of stuff at Clearwater (in W. Dundee) and out in DeKalb. Where you stayin now?
 | Inveigh Nice, I'll check that out tonight when I get home (myspace music doesn't function from my work comp for some reason). My band was called Inveigh (we broke up a little over a year ago). Our myspace (which doesn't look nearly as cool as it used to unfortunately) is www.myspace.com/inveighil We've got a few songs up there, but if you want our 2005 EP or other studio demos I'd be happy to email u. We're like Parkway Drive-style hardcore with groove metal influences (like Down or COC)
 | ThePalestMexican Congratulations! You are the ONLY other person on Sputnikmusic that knows what Crust Punk is =D
 | cirq haha its not my real name.. Joel Barish is the name of Jim Carey's character in Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
 | cirq Haha I honestly have no idea what you're talking about..
