 | Frippertronics Perhaps she gauges what would work based on what label she's working with. The Hyperdub/Hippos in Tanks releases tend to be the ones that lean more towards pop and/or jazz, whereas the stuff on Honest Jon's is her more abstract, out-there works. Or more easily put, she simply does as she pleases, but I did notice the type of music she does does seem to correlate with the label the record is on.

| Frippertronics I think a great deal of that impenetrable quality is because of Halo's own refusal to make compromises, from the way I look at it. She'll put out this wild pop-like record out one day, then go full electroacoustic drone the next. You never know what she's going to do, and that unpredictability is what I love so much about her.

| Frippertronics If we're talking about artists carefully curating themselves, Laurel Halo is another one whose been getting more recognition for what she's been doing. It really kinda seems people just caught onto her in the past year or so, although it's been a long time coming, say since 'Dust' but 'Quarantine' has been *the* album for a lot of people, from my experience.

| Frippertronics It took me quite a bit to really come around to The Altar, although I do think there's some, um, questionable decisions regarding the songwriting on that. III kinda felt like her trying to reach for some semblance of widespread appeal while not compromising her own ambitions - but I think that falls apart as soon as Gimme is done. Talk about one hell of a red herring, eh?

| CusmanX1 Well, the albums that should be moved from "Pat Metheny" to "Pat Metheny Group" are as follows: "Offramp", "The First Circle", "Still Life (talking)", "We Live Here" and "Imaginary Day", there's also another one, "Kin", but someone says that is by "Pat Metheny Unity Group", so in my opinion the right thing is to collapse everything on the "Pat Metheny" page. | In reality, looking back at the reviews I wrote for this account, there were only two I legitimately felt ashamed of: my first (The Left Rights' self-titled release; a bit justified, but still) and the rev I concocted for Emmure's Eternal Enemies (a little too ranty on my end, coupled with me basically mentioning most of the flaws others have pointed out). I was content with pretty much the rest of them, though, with Gorillaz' Demon Days and Faith No More's Introduce Yourself being my personal
