  • Blindsided We're relaunching Beholder pretty soon. Have you put any recent reviews on there?
    March 14 12:20 AM
  • bloc They broke up in 2009. A true shame.
    March 11 07:52 PM
  • bloc Bro they kick ass. Of their two albums, the newer one is prog as hell, but I actually prefer their first album because the vocals are fantastic.
    March 11 02:46 AM
  • jrbrown hey, considering we have the same musical taste you should check out the band The Contortionist: Extroplanet. Not sure if you heard of them but they are pretty sick, listen to the song flourish.
    February 27 04:32 AM

    December 13 05:06 AM
  • X3ni92 They're such a great band, its sad that they aren't well known.

    November 2 08:14 PM
  • BallsToTheWall IN LTROI Sweden, she says she's not a girl and there's that one scene but she is really a girl so WTF?
    October 15 06:18 AM
  • dimsim3478 Just a response to the shoutbox comment. Some people have different music tastes. I really like DragonForce, so I gave it a 4.5 out of 5.
    October 12 06:56 AM
  • andcas thought personally they were both more believable and so was the minor change. I felt more connected with them as well as far as the emotional connection went. the ending with the killing, pool, bully scene was awesome. I think the girl who was in kick ass is an underrated actress, idk, im all for foreign films but just loved the remake more : )
    October 10 11:08 AM
  • andcas I thought the acting was better. the gory parts were more violent. they made her an actual girl instead of a boy that was castrated. better special effects and it was better shot. over all I just enjoyed it better and thats saying a lot because I didnt think it be good and I enjoyed the swedish version a great deal
    October 9 02:51 AM
  • Kimm Thanks for the list bro. I actually do listen to a number of those bands, I look forward to hearing the rest. Check out Extol and Aletheian. I'm assuming you like Impending Doom?

    July 2 03:21 PM
  • heyadam hey dude, idk if you've seen Skillet live yet but you HAVE to. lol, i just saw them live for the second time and they are an amazing live show
    June 28 11:12 PM
  • Shadein dude, i completely agree with you on your Deep Blue soundoff. But you have to admit there are some pretty great tracks on it
    June 21 04:36 AM
  • dansxdead I think it's their best yet, Kingdom of Might is an extremely good listen too. They are going places.
    June 11 01:55 AM

    June 11 01:41 AM
  • dansxdead The tracks on their myspace were so promising.
    June 11 12:45 AM
  • dansxdead And Hell Followed With was so disapointing man.
    June 10 02:52 AM
  • heyadam yeah man there was like 3 good songs on it haha, the tour for that album though was awesome, they definitely havent lost anything live
    May 4 05:02 PM
  • heyadam thanks dude, i was very disappointed with Awake....not a good album:/ But most of their stuff is pretty good
    May 4 04:47 PM
  • ShadowRemains will check it out, anytime bro
    April 30 08:33 PM
  • ShadowRemains cus some of the bands in the genre ARE terrible and add WAY too many breakdowns/whiny vocals into their songs, they just get monotonous and give the genre a bad name. BTW: Have you checked out Blessings From a Blackened Sky by The Sorrow. you'll probably like them if you haven't
    April 30 05:04 AM
  • ShadowRemains damn, you might be the biggest metalcore fan on the site, which isn't a bad thing, some good 5's
    April 30 04:58 AM
  • heyadam haha dude I've been wanting to meet her forever. Its going to be a good time. Hopefully she'll hang with the fans like she always does after the show, all i have to do is get through never shout never's set without shooting myself....we'll probably leave and just wait outside after hey monday is done
    April 27 06:10 PM
  • heyadam yeah they are a very average band, but her personality is awesome lol. I'm pumped to meet her
    April 27 05:53 PM
  • heyadam haha no problem, although you'll feel like a flamer listening to them lol....total guilty pleasure
    April 27 05:49 PM
  • heyadam dude, listen to Hey Monday.....Cassadee Pope is friggin hot
    April 27 04:02 PM
  • DiceMan From your list, my computer won't let me comment on lists so here are reccomendations that you need to check out. Trespassers William-Different Stars, omgomgomgomgomgomg get this! It's kind of shoegazy pop music and it's intensely beautiful. Rasputin gave it a 5 so you KNOW it is good. The XX- XX- will boost your indie hipster cred. It's also really chill popish music.
    April 27 02:30 AM
  • Blindsided Generally from my understanding if you get a legal stream or source of it you can post it as long as you state that. I've got an like 2 albums that I got directly from Metal Blade and I might post before the release date. I've seen others do it that were sent an early copy.
    April 19 01:24 AM
  • Blindsided Why haven't you add the last reviews you did for Beholder to Sputnik? Positive votes are always good.
    April 19 01:10 AM
  • heyadam oh and btw, you are my hero right now for rec-ing me Woe of Tyrants, I downloaded Kingdom of Might and haven't stopped listening to it since last night
    April 8 03:55 PM
  • heyadam thanks so much dude! I've heard of probably half of those, but I'm really excited to check out the other half. Thanks again
    April 8 03:51 PM
  • heyadam Hey man I'd love an extended Christian Metal list. I probably know a good amount of it but I definitely want to find new ones
    April 7 11:44 PM
  • Progmaster85 disagree, but it's all good.
    February 9 09:02 PM
  • Progmaster85 but hey it's all opinion man, no hard feelings. Usually, the popular opinion is that all metalcore sucks, (not true) so its good to see a fan of it on here.
    February 9 12:25 PM
  • Progmaster85 progressed, they are at their peak of creativity now. And, their vocalist is awesome. He never stays in the same tone and changes up the scream volume and tone every other lyric.
    February 9 12:20 PM
  • Progmaster85 lol hve not changed. I have to disagree friend, Messengers was excellent though suffered from WAY to many breakdowns, even though the breakdowns themselves were odd and interesting. Also, on Constellations, they have rid of the excessive breakdowns, and added a new Prog-Jazz influence that they never had before, such as the effortless transition to a clean jazzy section in "Ocean of Apathy" or the two jazz sections in "Crusades", or the slow buildup intro in "White Washed". So I do think they
    February 9 12:19 PM
  • Progmaster85 and do you really have a Haste the Day album at 5?
    February 9 02:14 AM
  • Progmaster85 everyone has different tastes I guess. I see you have Fall of Ideals at 5, (my first metal album ever), if August Burns Red is repetitive and ATR is not... then... where the hell am I?
    February 9 02:13 AM
  • Progmaster85 no, no no. Not really repetitive, the disjointed song structures and lack of choruses actually make the songs more intriguing and less repetitive. I don't know man, one of my favorite metalcore bands ever, I saw you were talking about the faults of messengers on the messengers review board, then I went to click on you thinking you were like a Converge-Neutral Milk guy, but naw. But if August Burns Red is solid... then Becoming the Archetype is just plain old bad, which they are. I dunno,
    February 9 02:12 AM
  • Progmaster85 August Burns Red= Awesomeness
    February 9 01:23 AM
  • Blindsided Good luck in the Sputniky leagues.
    February 4 03:42 AM
  • Progmaster85 lol it's just so scary.
    January 31 02:16 PM
  • Blindsided Hey when you post something to the blog instead of posting the link, write something like Get, Download, This is great, Album or something and then highlight that then hit the link thing up top then enter the link in there then hit okay. They will look like mine then and not have the link out in the open.
    January 21 07:59 PM
  • BallsToTheWall I just noticed you rated Oceanborn a 5. Let's get married.
    December 8 03:15 AM
  • BallsToTheWall Just for the record, I dont hate you bro.
    December 1 03:07 AM
  • BigTuna Soul Embraced is pretty awesome, thanks for the rec.
    November 14 06:51 AM

    October 29 08:39 PM
  • maqwep yah i know right. ah well. i'll be unbanned soon enough haha. you got lastfm?
    October 25 09:17 AM
  • BigTuna It leaked...
    October 21 08:27 PM
  • BigTuna Did you actually hear The Great Misdirect or do you know it will be your AOTY?
    October 21 01:35 AM
  • BigTuna What makes you adore And Then There Were None so adamantly?
    October 19 04:29 AM
  • Carnifex Probably, I just started listening to them and I'm pretty much hooked so yeah. I'll go back and lower their scores one of these days.
    October 15 01:10 AM
  • BigTuna Not going to that TDWP, HtD concert. ABR and Underoath instead :)
    October 14 05:34 AM
  • accompliceofmydeath That'd be sweet. Yeah, I used to think Norma Jean was the s*** until I heard Botch.
    October 13 07:25 PM
  • accompliceofmydeath I was wondering that myself. I've seen Norma Jean and the Chariot before. The Chariot are nuts on stage and Norma Jean were decent. I've heard good things about HORSE, too.
    October 13 07:15 PM
  • accompliceofmydeath I'm probably going to go to that Norma Jean/HORSE show. Should be pretty sweet. I haven't seen HORSE yet. Norma Jean is supposedly playing the whole Bless the Martyr album minus that one 15 minute song.
    October 13 04:49 PM
  • Greenman Which "all those" are you referring to?
    October 10 08:19 PM
  • DolamiteBoom I found ur shoutbox!
    October 8 12:48 AM
  • BigTuna Weird. No, they put on an awesome show when I saw them. The worst band live award goes to A Day to Remember for me. The lead singer can't sing, scream, or do anything productive in a live setting.
    October 7 03:34 PM
  • BigTuna Nice, thanks. It's with The Devil Wears Prada, who I think is killer live.
    October 7 01:35 PM
  • BigTuna Does Haste the Day still play American Love live? I have a chance to see them, but it's not even worth it to me if they don't play that song.
    October 7 05:33 AM
  • BrahTheSunGod Interesting is definitely how I'd describe it. It's good to hear Jimmy again, and i like the sludge/post-metal style, but I guess I haven't listened through it enough to rate it really. I feel like I can't help but compare it to HTD :P
    October 3 06:26 AM
  • theacademy thanks test went ok i hope
    October 2 06:32 PM
  • Craigmn01 Lol, sorry to disappoint. For some reason my previous post isn't appearing in full.. it was meant to read 'M
    October 2 01:41 AM
  • Craigmn01 Nah, I'm from England.. M
    October 1 11:52 PM
  • shade That ABR record kicks ass. Thanks. Modest Mouse-The Lonesome Crowded West
    September 30 01:03 AM
  • BigTuna Do this for me: Check out Manchester Orchestra-Mean Everything To Nothing. I think you'll love it. Pretty much single-handedly got me into indie. Also, you're about the only other user I know that has Burning Bridges as a 5 :)
    September 29 05:18 AM
  • BigTuna Yeah I know you're taste! You said I was awesome so I investigated. We have pretty similar tastes I'd say. I'm surprised we aren't neighbors, although you don't listen to much indie/alternative, so maybe that's why. I have Conducting, but have yet to give them a fair listen.
    September 29 05:08 AM
  • BigTuna Nice. Also, I think you should check out Exotic Animal Petting Zoo. You will enjoy it.
    September 29 03:08 AM
  • BigTuna So....you think I'm awesome huh? ;)
    September 28 08:30 PM
  • spiritualbeggars about pure female vocals, try this Leaves' Eyes - Njord!
    September 26 01:31 AM
  • Blindsided Yeah and hopefully Koivu produces more goals this year along with Shep and Clutterbuck. Burns needs to step it up too.
    September 25 05:22 PM
  • Blindsided No worries with Havlat and Sykora playing in MN we should destroy the competition. Hopefully Gaborik breaks his hip playing in NY.
    September 25 04:23 PM
  • pizzamachine Yah, you'd probably get flamed.
    September 24 10:02 PM
  • shade I have that. 4.5.
    September 24 07:00 PM
  • pizzamachine Yah, you rated it a 5! Haha! Man I wish I wasn't so afraid to give classic ratings. How come you didn't review Alien Youth?
    September 24 05:24 PM
  • shade Cool. The National-Boxer
    September 24 10:56 AM
  • pizzamachine And now my shoutbox shall flourish. Yours will too, 'cause I wrote something in it.
    September 22 07:15 PM
  • shade thanks bro

  • Tilly yesh i'll pass on the metal :)
    September 21 11:42 PM
  • Tilly thanks for the suggestions, nick!
    September 21 11:38 PM
  • BrahTheSunGod Yea, true. I had to drive up to freaking Grand Rapids to see ABR when they were here, i think BOAD was at that show. I know Charis was, they played great. Have you heard of them at all? Or Your Memorial or Emiliana? Both put on great live shows, def worth seeing.
    September 21 07:11 PM
  • BrahTheSunGod Yea, my band actually played at the Garage a couple summers ago! Good stuff.Honestly, not as much as I should have. Sonshine this summer, and Haste the Day at the Myth back in spring. WHYYY do good bands keep skipping MN??
    September 21 04:56 AM
  • TRMshadow good job judging an album before it's out ^_^ but I hope it's that good
    September 20 11:33 PM
  • BrahTheSunGod MN metalcore represent! Been to any local shows lately?
    September 19 06:11 AM
  • Zip Yeah I'm in a few bands
    September 19 04:59 AM
  • Zip got a lot of christian bands there. HAIL JESUS!
    September 18 05:32 PM
  • Zip that's a big slice of metalcore you got there
    September 18 04:16 AM
  • Blindsided So did you buy your Brand New ticket for The Myth or did you get it when it got moved to First Ave?
    September 14 02:20 PM
  • accompliceofmydeath So you go to Minnesota shows, eh?
    September 10 12:19 PM
