| Kubrick It's basically like putting all your eggs in one basket and if you end up disliking it, you're completely stuck. I honestly can't really see myself doing anything else though. And there's so many different specializations that I feel like it would be pretty hard to not find something that I could be passionate about. For now I guess I really just need to focus on getting into a school and hope it all pans out from there. Thanks for the kind words though I really appreciate it.
| Kubrick Did you really look at Canisius? Haha wow that's a really weird coincidence. Yeah the tunnel system is clutch in the winter.. obviously we get a lot of snow in Buffalo and it's single digits for a good stretch in Jan-Feb, so the tunnels are a lifesaver. And I really hope you're right about that. It's just hard not to be apprehensive because you don't actually get to "experience" your career as a doctor until you are like 30 and have already spent all the time and money getting there.
| TMobotron I try to bump your pth soundoff like 3 times a day im pretty sure.
| Kubrick I go to Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.. don't live there though I commute. Not sure exactly where I want to go to medical school, I stayed local for college so I think it might be good for me to go somewhere new. The only local medical school option is UB Med. I don't have my MCAT scores yet though (taking it in about a month) so that will obviously play a role in where I apply. How does your dad like being a doctor? I can't help but have apprehensions about it because of the commitment.
| Kubrick Continuing from below (these cap on these things is too short haha): It really is such an admirable profession to have and it takes a really strong person. As for me, I don't have a rock-solid idea of what kind of doctor I want to be. At this point I think I may want to go into surgery but thats really not something you can say for sure until you actually have exposure to it. There's so many different options that it's pretty hard to have an informed decision at this point in college you know?
| Kubrick Yeah dude I totally understand where you're coming from. I may not be learning the ins and outs of the profession but I've had exposure to it for the past 6 months or so and it's definitely heavy. A lot of the things I've seen in the hospital have really weighed on me. I've had conversations with multiple patients that have pretty much told me on way or another that they want to die and that they have nothing left to live for. It's hard to hear something like that and not have it impact you.

| HSThomas FreePizza, just been looking into Playing Enemy, the newest incarnation of Deadguy/Rorschach/Kiss It Goodbye. I Was Your City is ****ing awesome. I really do recommend getting it.
| HSThomas I just checked out Tragedy with one of the songs from their latest album. Christ they're good. Thank you for that recommendation and I'll probably going to look at His Hero Is Gone as well. I'll also be checking out the original Discharge as well as your other recommendations. As for the next review - Burn EP.
| MUNGOLOID holy shnikeys! enjoy yours too man.
| YouAreMySilence Yeah their new record is one of my favourites of the year, Nord is still better though.
| YouAreMySilence Hey you need Year Of No Light's post metal masterpiece, Nord. Js.

| rogerdiscoversherpes Feel exactly the same way dude.Yeah, this is my first account. I've lurked sort of half-heartedly for a couple of years - normally just out of boredom if Google spat out a link to a review on the site. Decided that reviews were as good a medium as any to work on my writing a bit and that at least they'd get seen on here rather than on some crappy, self-involved blog. Not sure if I exactly fit in with the community, but I guess I'll find out soon enough.
| rogerdiscoversherpes Exactly the same situation with me. Read Feast - which said that he was half done with Dance With Dragons - and spent about a year checking his blog. Eventually it was one stupid-ass post about figurines and the Jets too many and I've given up hope. Lazy asshole. If his books weren't like crack I guess I wouldn't get as pissed off about the whole thing though.
| MichaelJordan Thanks bro, yeah they're one of the most remarkable groups I've ever come across
| Xenophanes Kent State Ohio? One of my best friends goes there. Sweet.
| feav233 Ah man, thats pretty cool. Don't know if I know anyone who went to tri-c but I have a couple friends that are at Kent. I went to John Carroll for four years, now I'm at the University of Dayton

| Damrod Saw your news item for the Converge stream, had to edit it for passing it through. But as I did not want to it and submit it rewritten under my name, stealing your credit, I hope that is ok. =)

| Athom Hello, I am spamming the inboxes of those that I know dig metalcore with a warning that if you don't listen to Drowningman's Rock and Roll Killing Machine that something very bad will happen to you. Don't tempt fate. You have been warned.
