 | Futures happy you're doing well man. awesome to hear. btw that merauder album RIPS. absolutely love it. getting into hardcore now.
 | Hawks Wish it was more, but better than nothing lol.
 | Hawks There's a new Warp Chamber split coming with Benothing on November 14th! I got the promo yesterday. Only one track from each band, but they both rule hard.
 | gabba Hey, thanks for pointing at the Mizmor/Thou collab a while ago, it?s awesome!
 | Futures that's beautiful man. very touching. what were some of his favorites?
 | arthropod My condolences man. Can't imagine losing a loved one. May the child make life brighter when they arrive.
 | Futures so sorry to hear about you dad passing man. hang in there dude. hope music can provide you some solace as it does for me in dark moments.
 | Hawks Review will be up tonight at some point!!
 | Hawks Dude it's horrible. Got a fever, sweating my dick off burning up, puking....whole nine yards lol.
 | Hawks Will be this week bro. Got sick over the weekend and am still feeling like garbage so I didn't get to write as much as I wanted. :[
 | Hawks Gonna try to finish it tomorrow probably. Got some stuff going on today, but I'll probably get it started at least.
 | DungeonBoy bro, that would be so sick. Oh nice, Hawks is reviewing this, otherwise I was gonna \m/ Really killer stuff dude, it deserves more ear holes attention
 | Hawks Probably gonna get a review together for your EP this weekend unless someone else does it first. :]
 | Hawks So good dude. Those riffs pack one hell of a punch and I love the vox/overall atmosphere. Great work.
 | Hawks Bro.....this EP kicks so much ass.
 | Hawks Friggin sweet. Will jam after work brother.
 | Hawks Hell yeah brother I'd love to hear it!!
 | Drifter yeah i know it wasn't particularly what you were looking for but it's a fascinating gem. the instrumentals are the obvious star of the show but al agami is good enough. the way u wanna see me, give me a kiss, keep it simple are all great songs. esp the former is a real strong fav of mine in all of hip hop. been busy with finals so im still working on going through your recs to me and figuring one out for you : )
 | Drifter funny how salaam remi is pretty great on this black thought album 15 years after ruining multiple nas albums
 | Drifter i haven?t jammed yet, but just preliminarily my go to rec for jazz hip hop is thomas blachman al agami and remee - the style and invention album. thomas blachman is a professional jazz composer who arranged the music and al agami did the raps. also read up on al agami?s discogs page its wild.
 | Drifter ima have to jam all 3 of those to get a feel for what you?re looking for haha. never jammed any of them. i'll put it on my list when i figure it out
 | Futures one of your fav bands? definitely a unique style, really digging.
 | Futures appreciate that heads up, will def keep it in mind. think this is a discog i will finish. loving the sound. listened to swan road yesterday, found it a bit underrated considering the score here. like proto-blackgaze with all that distortion and blasts.
 | unclereich i know man that's one of the funniest things ive read hear in a while
 | climactic "Literally me every time I open the children of the moon thread" -- i feel like you're the only person on this site i agree w about that album lol. i havent even been able to get all the way through it in full
 | Tundra Always gotta say something negative, get ****ed pitched.
 | Futures mr bring on the breakdown you would very much enjoy contention- artillery from heaven. old melodic hard ass metalcore like arkangel. tailor made for you. check it out!
 | jrlikestodance Rickshaw Billie's Burger Patrol ****in rocks. Perfect album title. Definitely pit certified and I'm loving the Primus sounding riffs throughout it too. Great rec!
 | Hawks TURNING ON WARP CHAMBER RIGHT NOWWWW!!!
 | DungeonBoy Dude, no thank God, that s*** was crazy but fortunately missed us. Yeah man, Raleigh is a pretty cool place and we're having fun here, but I miss RVA sometimes. It's such a great place to live, I'd like to end up back there at some point again
 | DungeonBoy Hey dude, I actually moved to Raleigh, NC and have been living here for a couple years. I'm bummed I've missed a lot of good shows coming through there recently, but I try and make it up there to visit friends every now and then
 | veninblazer shoutbox is acting up for me but i do hear you it just reads as s***ty to be "waiting" for a band to have abuse allegations just bc you dislike them
 | Futures good to hear man. keep on keeping on. whenever i need to distract myself from life i usually put on an album, great escape. curious you ever jam mortal treason? kinda like burning bridges era htd but way heavier and death metal influence. surprisingly vicious, jimmy ryan esque highs. really fun time. i think you'd get a kick out of it!
 | Futures man i just saw your list. there's definitely nothing i can say to help but i'm so sorry. hang in there man. life gets better even if it seems you're at rock bottom. i've been there a few times with my cancer ordeal. you and your wife are in my thoughts. i hope that music has given you some solace, i know it has for me. if you ever need an ear to listen or whatever, i'm always here. one of the best users that make this site worth visiting.
 | MillionDead Nice Inter Arma ratings, I saw them about a month back.
 | Futures that arkangel ep RIPS dude. love the vocalist, heavy as s***. excited to checkout the full lengths.
 | Futures dude yes that album is just unhinged lol. remaster really worked nicely. shevanel cut a flip might be my fav btbam song.
 | Futures very cool man. i'm up here isolated in wisconsin lol. but yeah that album just rips. forgot about all the trems and blast beats, pretty unique. i go back to s/t through alaska all the time but haven't revisted their other stuff in a bit. also you know tommy rogers was a vocalist in another old metalcore band from here on? i gotta check that.
 | Futures still some hanging on but so many oldheads just gone and i?m not that old, you?re an og haha.. but that?s really cool man i?ve definitely met some great friends here. where you from? also first time listening to prayer for cleansing in forever, fun album.
 | Futures iconoclast was a huge high school jam for me. yeah man when i stopped using this site i just eventually stopped listening to new stuff. now that i'm back i've rediscovered my love for music. so many old users gone though which is sad. definitely not even close to how active it was back in the day.
 | Futures nice man, appreciate it. prayer for cleansing and heaven shall burn are great. what's your fav hsb? arkangel has definitely piqued my interest. always loved your taste in stuff like that. nothing like that wild west 90's-early 00's core sound. glad you're still here kicking around!
 | Futures sup man. on a little old school melodic metalcore kick. what's your fav album in that style with a bit of grit and edge if you know what i'm saying.
 | Butkuiss I know from memory that your name stands for ?bring on the breakdown? but every time I read it my brain says ?blood on the breakdown? cheers
 | BaselineOOO You're telling me you fell for that cute joke that I want to 4 Madvillainy? That thread is already a hate fest towards me as a person, might as well make it entertaining. The review and my rating still stand, it's what I believe, ufff.
 | MoM Much appreciated, bro! The feeling is mutual! Have a goodun
 | MoM Yooo ? I?ve just been lurking for a long ass time, i never posted before this account
 | JohnnyoftheWell dope lol, i think you'll come away happy - it's probs broken my top 3 for the year so far. working on an appropriately extra review for it, interested to hear your vibes though
 | JohnnyoftheWell HI thank you so much for expressing interest in Sputmix 2023! There is one (one!) bureaucracy barrier for you to overcome - please hit up this form and send your info over asap, so I can get a database going and pin down what this thing is gonna look like. Love! https://forms.gle/zkKtidhnXpgYUsUv5
 | someone The saddest is when it falls lower. That's when you start to question even your present taste. If I was capable of this level of yuck then, am I still now?
 | someone But yeah I also earnestly have bands and records where I can soundoff like "most important artist of my formative years, 2.5/5"
 | someone Used to be explosive pop was the hot s*** for me... now I'm popping explosive s***. Don't listen to Florence or you'll end up the same.
 | someone I'm glad to hear you have sought sufficient psychological help
 | someone Tbh there's an air of coolness to being known as the Breakdown Kid
 | someone Does botb stand for BohnnyoftheBell?

 | MarsKid Hell yeah brother, that's REAL art right there, real literal music.
 | MarsKid Don't talk to me until you've literally gone to music school
 | MarsKid Dude did you go to music school for music??
 | Vinnymcscoop Hi Botb, just want to let you know Busty and the Bass is up on Sputnik. Thank you for the rec
 | unclereich Lol at least you didn?t jump to conclusions like the other goobers thinking I was legit mad or upset at oltnabrick lol.
 | Rowan5215 ah i'm moving interstate soon so pretty much all my motivation and attention has been on that lmao. i'll definitely give it a listen when i have free time again tho
 | combustion07 Glad I asked about your s*** though cuz this is definitely all stuff I'll keep in rotation. Excited to hear what comes of the post metal doomy project also
 | combustion07 My issue here is I've just never been able to click up with a drummer. I've tried like hell for years and nothing ever pans out. I'm at the point now where once I get into my new space though I'm just gonna bite the bullet, buy a kit and teach myself to play so I can get a one man project going. I can play bass, the guitars obviously and I've messed around on vocals for a long time. Just really don't care for drum machines though and I'm a perfectionist.
 | combustion07 Not gonna lie though you might not be too proud of the earlier stuff but if it's anything like this other s*** I'd love to hear it lol. As for me I don't have anything recorded. I've been playing guitar for like 15 years at this point though and definitely have enough riffs and material written for at least a handful of releases. I mainly write grind/powerviolence stuff and got a separate little thing going for real primitive death metal and flirt with some sludge at times.
 | combustion07 Wow man I checked Venomspitter and Charmer so far. Listened to all of the Charmer EPs all the way back to the phone recorded one. This is wayyyy up my alley and sick as ****. Rusted Cogs is such a nasty song. That Venomspitter EP is nasty too. You're kind of a jack of all trades man hitting vocals, drums and guitar. It's too bad the thing with Majority Rule came to a halt bet that would have been killer. Were you on the demo they'd released in 2018 too or did you just come in after then it ended
 | Rowan5215 oh word this sounds very up my alley, cheers g
 | Uzumaki You ever check a band called .nema? If you haven?t, check their album ?Bring Our Curses Home?. Lowkey bangin?.
 | MarsKid Yeah this is very mathcore-esque but I enjoy it. Feels like Calvaiire and that's not a bad thing.
 | MarsKid Dang, less grind? That's a shame. I'll still try and get around to giving it a shot, I'm sure it'll have some hits.
 | MarsKid Is new Helpless worth? I saw they finally dropped it.
 | Uzumaki Hey man, just dropping in because I always enjoy what you bring to the convo table, but I created a new -core list if you?re interested; prolly get to it when I finish the anti-core and first DM list tho, so I might get to it in springtime.
 | combustion07 I'm straight up loving that one! Got more recs like it? So is skramz basically just pretty chaotic/relentless hardcore? Huge thanks for the jam. Certainly one I will keep in rotation
 | DDDeftoneDDD https://www.reddit.com/r/drums/comments/6jle19/tyler_coburn_of_yautja/
 | BaselineOOO I apologize I cannot be more agreeable to you. Maybe if we had a trip through each other's lives we'd find some common ground and things wouldn't be so divisive between us. Differences aside, I can bet you're a good man.
 | combustion07 Hell yeah man thanks! I'll put that to good use
 | MillionDead Good looks on the Zulu rec! I'm thankful. Just listened to the first EP and it's ****ing violent, just the way I like it. It's a bit overkill on the samples though.
 | DDDeftoneDDD OK dude...I was struggling to describe it but that was perfect lmao
 | Uzumaki Just a heads up, but list #7 is open!
 | DDDeftoneDDD It goes hard af...4.5! The last riff could go on like forever by me...no prob ahah m/
 | SlothcoreSam Hey botb, got any recs for round 2 80-85 PUNK COMP. https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1137253
 | parksungjoon i feel that. theres some elements that i dont care for, but then they have tremz, melodeath??? and some other s*** that im like huh... this is p cool
 | parksungjoon https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=190800
 | MELONADE13 just found this, seems like it'd be right up your alley https://youtu.be/XFtNL10u4fM
 | Uzumaki thanks, brov. I'll add the ones I don't already have in my lists into #7; getting a kick out of your rec of Kickback.
 | Uzumaki Well, I?m already halfway done with #3... lelz
 | Uzumaki No sir! I take all recs seriously and work ?em all in!
 | Uzumaki Believe it or not, brov, you already rec?d those in pt. 2 and they?re on pt. 4 lol. Thanks again!
 | accompliceofmydeath The sporadic cleans were a nice touch. I feel ya on the scheduling aspect. It's not like when we were kids, is it?
 | accompliceofmydeath What do you follow? The Axe to Grind podcast has been great for new and old stuff. NoEcho.net is good. Of course keeping in touch by going to shows and talking with the kids, seeing what shirts they've got on, etc. is an old standby.
 | accompliceofmydeath Ah, yeah. I try and keep up with the kids. Gets a little tougher when you're in your 30s, but if you put in some work it's not too bad.
 | DDDeftoneDDD cute rate on CoL. Check Johnny Booth man. Cheers
 | DDDeftoneDDD D'OH its confirmed on metal archives that the label was named after the Pentagram song.
 | DDDeftoneDDD Wondering if that s the origin of label s name or if its just for some other reason. 'Last days here' is a great doc on YouTube about the dude from Pentagram and why they didn t succeed (lol) and still made these crazy doom ass albums in the 80s 90s. First Daze Here is a late compilation of their work on the 70s, more Sabbathian bluesrock.
 | DDDeftoneDDD Just for a stupid nonsensensical coincidence, on PD's thread, some dude recd the band Pentagram (precisely the album reissued by Scott Hull, First Daze Here). Its a cult underground early Doom band and they have a track with that name. Thing is Im not much into that label stuff so only got that name a couple of months back. Anyway, Pentagram is an awesome band. Check the track from S/t from the 80's or their 70's version.
 | DDDeftoneDDD Do you know the origin of the name 20 buck Spin bro?
 | Emim Yeah, I feel that. The days get longer and the years get shorter. Just been working a lot, not playing much music and notuch else exciting. Trying to get a couple coworkers to start up a jam band.
 | Emim Didn't see that shout out on that list a few days ago, sorry man. But yeah, I've been away for a minute. How you been?
 | DungeonBoy I know them by name and face, but not personally. Our singer knows them though. We play a show every couple months, lots of house shows but sometimes at Canal Club, The Camel, Strange Matter (RIP), so maybe dude! Are you guys playing any shows?
 | DungeonBoy hey dude! I play guitar in a pop punk band called We Call This Courage: https://wecallthiscourage.bandcamp.com/album/we-call-this-courage they asked me to play with them after their guitarist quit so I kinda fell into it since I was friends with the dudes, but I'd rather be playing metal most days haha.
 | DDDeftoneDDD What about Immortal Bird to fit that 39percent HXC ratings?
 | DDDeftoneDDD oh that's cool! Ill skip the EP's then and stick to this m/ yeah sick X)
 | GhandhiLion Nice! I tried to list a variety of different sounds. That Terry Allen album is the closest to classic country. So maybe you should try that at a later time.
 | DDDeftoneDDD I get that polished production view of yours...this is way more filthy blackened and experimental than RoN though. You might be skipping something precious to music in general, mindless the genre and/or production, though. But ei! I tried m/ maybe you'll be back someday
 | DDDeftoneDDD I feel you. its a bit different from what you re used too but still recd you that full video cause its worth the experience.
 | Uzumaki Sounds awesome. I?ll start tracking them down, thanks!!!
 | Uzumaki My man... last 6 spots in pt.3 is all yours.
 | DDDeftoneDDD Warforged is amazing. If you have time check their video stream debut in a full dive - https://youtu.be/lO7bhCJLDpY
 | DDDeftoneDDD all that s*** sounds the same and all of it is awesome...weather they go slow or fast...I don't give a ****...even the bonus tracks are cool lol
 | Uzumaki Hey there! Just letting you know, I've got my pt. 3 practically buttoned up, but I've got a LIIIIITTLE more space left in there. If you could/want, hit me up with 10 more recs of post-hardcore/metalcore that's OG or modern and HELLA underrated. Before you do though, check out my pts. 2 AND 3 just to make sure nothing you have in mind is in there already, lol. Thanks in advance!!!
 | DDDeftoneDDD Ringworm uncompromisingly rules lol...good crossover
 | Uzumaki Yeah I?ve been taking everything you guys have been putting in the comments. :)
 | Uzumaki If you'd like to, you could start hitting up my shoutbox with recs; I have a part 2 already made up (comments locked until I officially start it), but I have more than enough to build a part 3 as well.
 | MarsKid I'm hoping it's just a typical slump. Most years start off slow anyways I think, when summer comes around things should see an uptick in quality.
 | MarsKid Appreciate the reminder, I certainly need to. Been trying to focus on 2019 but very little has wowed me yet
 | DDDeftoneDDD ups accidentaly erased the previous comment. Misery Index - Rituals of Power. See you soon X)
 | DDDeftoneDDD cool pig destroyer with aborted vibe. do it man,,,feed me back if you can. and tks X)
 | DDDeftoneDDD for sure a "**** with my list" thing...Have you checked Aborted!? Do it when you can...cool deathgrind band
 | DDDeftoneDDD No man...beside the ones I told u...i honestely been cracking the bone on genocide pact when I walk the dog x)
 | DDDeftoneDDD Yap I try not to make a ranking...I'm just relistening to ditch some of them out and get only 50 lol...the only rank there would be the 5's, the 4.5's and then the 4's
 | DDDeftoneDDD yeah man it will make the list...there's some late releases\ discovers there (kenmode, noise trail immersion, Failure...) decided to put all technical and/or melodeath (obscura, Gorod,Aepoch etc) out...when relistening ultimately did nothing for me(prob was my mood). One thing I tell you, its the last time I make a year's top 50 - too much work lolol will try to check those other u talked about
 | DDDeftoneDDD Your list made me go for ulthar. Amazing stuff TKS m/
 | DDDeftoneDDD **** dude...glad you dig pulling teeth m/...awesome crossover
 | neekafat Yeah it was just all drowned out in fuzz haha

 | cold Yeah dude, I always copy it before I submit cause that s*** has happened to me too many times.
 | cold I'll never understand it, let them be backwards pieces of s***
 | cold It's always the black metal threads, I've noticed
 | Spec Listen to start the reactor, intimidator and godspeed centipede. Pls bb. I love it so much. Might be nostalgia on my part though.
 | Spec Listen to the textbook tragedy discography.
 | Essence you just don't *get* black metal, maaan
 | Essence no come back, the law of averages means that thread is far dumber now
 | cold Yeah dude, we played shows together and have a lot of mutual friends but somehow didn?t meet, haha.
 | cold I played guitar
 | cold I think I know of you, is your last name G?bs? Ain?t trying to put ya last name on blast haha
 | cold Beneath The Surface? With Zack and Tremayne? Am I remembering right? Wait...is your name Josh?
 | cold I remember you guys! And don't feel bad, we've all had our share of those kind of bands. I used to be in Since 1913 and We Are Bears if that makes you feel any better, hahaha.
 | cold And yo, which band were you in?
 | cold Oh damn! So we even know some of the same people, lol. Yeah, there were talks about getting the band back together and recording a full-length. Buttttt, nothing has really come of it except for some demos, lol. He's a cool dude, I really dig his new band, Twin Drugs.
 | cold Yo, and I just saw you were the one who reviewed the TTIW album, that's sweettttt dude. Have you heard their split with my old band?
 | cold The last band I was in was Fixtures, unfortunately I haven't done band stuff in a little while.
 | cold Yeah, I?m from Richmond. I don?t hang with them or anything, but played a good number of shows with them a few years ago. They were always super nice and chill.
 | MaximeDemian Do you know where to get This Is Rescue from My Epic in any form?

 | Tyler. If I'm not in school it may be worth the trip tbh
 | kascetcadettt i think you'll like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfAqEL12K-Y, this is kinda popular if we can call it that, there were like 50 people at their show in moscow
 | kascetcadettt alrite this is one of my fav tracks by them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpesN3mH480, it features a guest verse (the first one) tho
 | kascetcadettt yeah man they're very unique, the type of s*** to suck you in, i can send you a few more dope songs, but it's damn youtube, not much there
 | kascetcadettt well basically the lyrics are so abstract that they make no sense whatsoever, just random rhymes really, but the overall theme is that you should always be ready for the call of the rifles as you can be drafted for war any time and the name of the song is 'Be Ready' so they simply play on it throughout
 | kascetcadettt check dis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_BXkRZnV0E
 | ZippaThaRippa Oh s***, I've never met a Sputniker irl. That would be cool as ****.
