  • BitterJalapenoJr I think come next spring, we will try chillies, tomatoes, onions, carrots, beets and various herbs. I need to replace all the compost in the planters which will be a ballache on the fourth floor. I am half considering a gradual removal if compost by discreetly scattering a few handful off the balcony into the street every day from November. The rain will wash it away pretty much daily.

  • BitterJalapenoJr We had a really successful season in the anazing summer of 2018 with a raised bed. Got really good peas, baby gem lettuce, onions and really great cherry tomatoes which I thought was unheard of here. Also got some small success with some root veg. Would hope to do more of the same. Chillies are usually a challenge like tomatoes. Would you agree?

  • BitterJalapenoJr Yes, a shocking summer. That's unfortunate. We haven't attempted to grow on the balcony for a few years but we are on a waiting list for an allotment. Have you had success in previous years? I do love the tang of pickled jalapenos but overall when it comes to fresh chillies and bottled sauces, I can't get enough of the habanero/scotch bonnet.

  • ReiniEden Very late to seeing your comment, I'm not on here often sorry about that, but no I haven't, I don't really look up lyrics as is, only if it's like hip-hop stuff or if the lyrics really grab me.

  • JohnnyoftheWell also nice work sniffing out that Kamisama no iu toori single lol, fun gem. Etsuko Yakushimaru's band Soutaisei Riron's debut is an indie pop classic Junji Ishiwatari played guitar and wrote lyrics for Supercar, whose full career is a glorious zeitgeist snapshot and full of highlights

  • JohnnyoftheWell worthwhile), my personal fav Seiko Oomori started off as full-on scorched earth folk pop/punk and then kinda ran the full gauntlet of everything worth hearing in 10s/20s Jpop, but is more of an acquired taste, and if I haven't rec'd you Tujiko Noriko yet, her early run (minus debut) is a slept on gem for that art/dream/glitch pop your Macarooms and Yeules do so well. BONUS recs = Citrus discog compilation and BOaT third record, both of which are mixed vox and zany hyperactive rawk/pop perfection

  • JohnnyoftheWell Heya, glad to hear you got some mileage from them (am due another Hirasawa binge myself tbh). Lotta great pickings from female artists specifically, partially depends on how much of a commercial bent you fw? First three Shiina Ringo albums are about as great a crash course into turn-of-the-century J-pop/rock as I can recommend and the latter two are easily up with Hirasawa for me. Advantage Lucy were a really sweet jangle pop/shibuya-kei act with a perfect sized discog (almost all of which is

  • BitterJalapenoJr Good day mouldypigeon. I am indeed aware. What you see are examples of "Pepper X" which was recently recognised by Guinness as the hottest chilli in the world, surpassing the Carolina Reaper

  • Sowing That's actually a very good question, and probably one that I should add to the FAQ so thank you. Typically, the most relevant/famous keeps the band name, then subsequent artists with the same name are deliniated by location using the official abbreviation for that state/country/region. So for example, a less famous/popular Band A from California might be entered as "Band A (USA-CA)". If you let me know what artist you're talking about in this specific instance, I can try to advise further.
