 | OmairSh Hey dude! I think you?ll enjoy song 3 and 2 from this list. 3 is a really cool mix of Pakistani classical with metal https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=201548
 | JohnnyoftheWell damn boi! current round literally about to close, but feel free to submit a normal no-songs ballot if you wanna land it girigiri safe
 | JohnnyoftheWell vote or ur a boat !! https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=200676
 | OmairSh I?m not too bad, how?ve you been man? I haven?t been listening to much music in general recently, surprisingly
 | OmairSh Hola dude. Back for a bit, sup
 | Ryus that album fckin ruled, liked it even more than "peasant" i think. almost reminded me of fahey at times. its like fahey if he was drunk af and british and a prog nerd
 | Ryus i love his next album "peasant" (which u should check if u havent) so i bet i'd dig it. will check it out
 | parksungjoon thats for that style of ambient, obviously the genre in a broader sense goes back to early 70s german s*** at least.
 | parksungjoon a halved edit of that song appears on the orb's 2nd album, though blue room is notable for having steve hillage and jah wobble contributing writing and performance. the orb's first 3 albums in general are quite good i think, the future sound of london, biosphere's early work takes after them somewhat, obviously aphex twin, the klf's debut lp
 | Ryus the punctuation was the cherry on top
 | parksungjoon https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nQZgkpbIpuEITldHZBSs8qXuSHB39RwQw
 | parksungjoon LeddSled how you gonna rate Taylor Swift's Evermore better than this release? Yeah, I noticed. I hereby sentence you to a year of peeing sitting down for your insolence! ;)

 | MillionDead Did you make it to the Imperial show? lol Didn't see you but I also didn't know what to look for. I was wearing a military sorta jacket and red boots.

 | aok gotta get over unique sounding vocals. so worth it. judging something you don't understand's counterproductive

 | Ryus check robert wyatt - rock bottom u will love it guaranteed

 | aok do you ever even listen to pop? tones is hyper talented, hyper fun. you aren't paying careful enough attention if you disagree
 | Colton ok the sweet trip 1 now
 | normaloctagon hey dude, u may have already seen this, but got any interest in participating in the prog tourney? looks like it's going up next week if enough people are interested. https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=188441
 | SlothcoreSam Hey Ledd, I got some fresh new psych for you to check, out of Spain. Derby Motoretas Burrito Kachimba - Hilo Negro
 | JohnnyoftheWell okay no joy BUT imma try to borrow my mate's pc and do a rip sometime soonish and you will be the first and potentially only person i leak it to lol (promise it's a banger)
 | JohnnyoftheWell unfortunately not, altho tbh I've been lazy and haven't looked into it lately as i only have it on cd (and don't have a way of converting into digi atm) :/ will have a check after work to see if it's dl'able and can hit you up with something if so tho, s*** slaps
 | "what's the distinction between grindcore and powerviolence? asking for clarification" PV is usually hardcore punk pushed to grindcore extremes, but without all of the metal crossover generally present in grind. The drums are usually similar with high tempos and blast beats but double bass is much rarer in pv. The vocals are more likely to be hardcore shouts instead of screams and growls. The guitars are usually just fast power chords. Hope you've been well btw dude!
 | budgie yo take my spot on april song of the month thread i dont want it
 | Gnocchi Indeed bro, thank you muchly
 | evilford Definitely one of the goat dm bands, close to a world below changed my life no joke, check it when u get a chance

 | ArsMoriendi How are you not in the Casual Conversation Discord? You'd love it there. https://discord.gg/yBZVeSCn
 | OmairSh Thanks dude! I didn't think I'd be on this site for this long, let alone become contrib, so it's pretty cool
 | Kompys2000 Hell yeah thanks man! We movin up in the world

 | normaloctagon i owe my father a 'why didnt u ever show me VDG' phone call. pawn hearts slappin rn
 | evilford Hell yeah man. I bet you'll dig the **** outta coroner
 | Kompys2000 Hmm try Steve Roach - Structures From Silence and Tetsuo Inoue - World Receiver, maybe also Yellow Swans - At All Ends if you wanna get a little more noisy/aggressive
 | evilford Voivod are an interesting bunch for sure. Legends. Just as much progressive metal as thrash metal, if not moreso
 | evilford Hmm. A good litmus test might be coroner. Id say try Coroner - Mental Vortex, def top 5 thrash and on the proggy end
 | nol i refuse to post in the weezer thread again, but the fact rivers was in Annoying Orange is incredibly fitting lmaooo
 | evilford Hope u dig mang. They were probably my favorite band like 10 years ago. Got a couple neurosis related tattoos. Kinda fell off my radar for a few years but im back diggin em super hard again rn
 | evilford If you're gonna check neurosis, I think, based on an accumulation of past sput users' experiences, your best bet is to check The Eye of Every Storm first. Not one of my favorites of theirs (still a 4.5) but it's more accessible than a lot of their stuff and it'll help u get into their sound
 | ChoccyPhilly Just a thought following that long thread yesterday, if I could rec one gateway album into something less guitar based, I'd say give this a shot: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/27680/Enigma-MCMXC-a.D./Probably my favourite album of all time and it's fairly proggy and not too dissimilar to your pie chart. Would strongly recommend the deluxe version though as imo, it's more complete.
 | JohnnyoftheWell oh hahaha yeah, i have never felt more validated in my life
 | Colton got unbanned Biggle Boys on top
 | porcupinetheater Pg. 99 (and Doc. 8 in particular) Id say is the numba one essential. Orchid, Off Minor, Le Pre Ou Je Suis Mort, Funeral Diner, Sed non Satiata, Mesa Verde, that Swedish one - Vi Som Alskade something something, and yeah Orchid, they all pretty wonderful! Hope you?re hangin in alright, Mate
 | porcupinetheater Yo Ledd, I know you're into quite a bit of mathcore shiz (righteous), and dont see much og screamo in your ratings, you vibe with that scene at all?
 | Colton Sorry just saw this now cause I haven't been on sput but yeah sure man. Most of my favourites are stuff people have probably recommended already, Uptown Saturday Night by Camp Lo, GKMC and TPAB by Kendrick, Ready to Die by Biggie and Black on Both Sides by Mos Def are my favourites aside from Young Thug, and I don't know if he would be the best to listen to for someone just getting into rap. Any of those would be good picks I think
 | SlothcoreSam There is a new King Gizz songhttps://youtu.be/ntbNRUycbD4
 | Rowhaus Damn what a talented guy. Born in Space is so awesome. Gonna spin their other one for sure.
 | Rowhaus Sweet rec with the Owane! The bass work on this thing is super ace
 | JohnnyoftheWell that's already probs more than is helpful but idk, you'll probs work out what you (don't) like p quickly!
 | JohnnyoftheWell 3) ambient! not a wild fan of Oneohtrix Pt Never, but Replica is potentially a helpful startpoint here, and Susumu Yokota - Grinning Cat is a melodic level up. first Boards of Canada album absolutely. 4) since you're coming in from Rh, don't pass on the certified absolute best indietronica album ever (Supercar - Highvision) 5) bangers. Crystal Castles II and the Knife - Silent Shout both p easy to get into
 | JohnnyoftheWell Ok let's see 1) just listen to the first 3 Sweet Trip releases (Halica/Alura/VDC) tbh, they're a really nice ease-in from sparse ambient techno to maximalist v. accessible dreamy glitch sounds 2) tense noirposting is always a good early way in, so Ulver - Perdition City and Amon Tobin - Supermodified are both good ideas. getting round to the trip-hop greats is also great, so do Portishead and Massive Attack whenever you feel
 | JohnnyoftheWell oh s*** yeah ofc! was half chatting s*** bc Kid A is overrated but can defs hit you with some recs - about to crash out, but will think about it (ping me a reply and I'll hit you up tomoz)
 | Colton my finger slipped but it happened to slip to the correct rating. one of those funny little moments
 | OmairSh Yo dude, didn't see you in the thread for the new Fates Warning record, so thought I'd jump in here. Check if/when you get time. Think you'll enjoy some tracks (Shuttered World, Way Home, Longest Shadow, etc all bangers) https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/82357/Fates-Warning-Long-Day-Good-Night/
 | MillionDead "Btw Million I look up to your super broad offhand knowledge of bands in any given threadPlus your pie chart is pretty sweet" Lol You're pretty sweet for saying that. I appreciate it!
 | Ryus sweeet yeah i'm not that into slowdive either haha. it took me a while to get into loveless so it definitely can grow on you, especially if you havent heard much shoegaze before it
 | normaloctagon peep in a glass house and/or the power and the glory when you're done with free hand (if you haven't already)
 | JefferyBigglestein marskid got salty and went on some rant about how im an unfunny troll, i told him hes a geek and to stay mad. and then hed my review or got someone to my review.
 | MillionDead It's so good! Lmao that's wild; today I actually thought in passing that I should ask you how you like some of those albums. Glad you're getting something from it.
 | Ryus honestly they might not be the most accessible start. id be remiss not to suggest souvlaki-slowdive as a starting point even tho im not a huge fan of that one. but in general mbv is prob the best rock band ever imo
 | Ryus check my bloody valentine
 | JefferyBigglestein miss you ledd i am doing school rn and working so life is a bit busy. stay based ill be online more frequently again.
 | Shuyin Dude, that Owane album was awesome! thank you so much
 | JohnnyoftheWell Oh goodness, well if you want to make the list no-one's stopping you, but from my time here I'd say you should expect 10% earnest engagement and 90% s***posting/disasterposting that will likely snowball into its own meme *if* it catches on. If you wanna go for it, I'd suggest shoutboxing people you want to contribute individually either in advance of or immediately after making the list - but don't expect great things
 | JohnnyoftheWell Umm there are no restrictions on when you should post lists afaik and goodness knows you can make lists about anything, but what's the topic?
 | MillionDead I made that list! It's a little different than what I shouted Blonde, so check it out when you can.
 | MillionDead I rec?d a whole bunch of stuff in BlondeGuardian?s shoutbox. Thinking of making a list since both of you asked and I?m bored. lol Whether you look there or wait for the list, I?ll definitely show you some stuff.
 | JefferyBigglestein Warriors like you are the reason why we are winning this war. Stay based as always - JefferyBigglestein
 | JefferyBigglestein LeddSledd I commend you for your bravery today in the war. I am hereby promoting you the rank of Lieutenant General of the Biggle Boys. Congratulations!
 | OmairSh Hey Ledd, not sure if you'll dig but thought I'd share anyhow since you seem open minded. Its some rock music from Pakistan :-). You can take your time with them, I like to share music from my part of the world. I've reviewed more, but I'll leave you with these for now hah https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/81310/Mekaal-Hasan-Band-Andholan-Special-Edition/____ https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/81510/Keeray-Makoray-Island-In-The-City/
 | deathschool Hey big boy ; ) Pay no attention to Omair. He gets nervous around cuties.
 | OmairSh Hey there, I see you're new around here. Welcome :-). Nice pie chart there ;-)
