| hal1ax well that's usually the most horrifying part about cases like that tbh... finding out that the people weren't actually monsters. just the wrong concoction of biology and abject circumstance. i feel like we almost need to dehumanize them in our minds as means of coping cuz we have trouble reconciling the fact that these people are just people who were brutalized by the system in just the wrong kind of way
