  • Divaman Hi tyman. Have you got a SOTD for us? This month's theme is your top song of the 2010's.
    January 8 01:21 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Sweet I?m really looking forward to it!
    December 15 08:40 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yes definitely! I made a list with a song that you can drum too. Can you try drumming to that and send it to me? I wanna hear your chops :::]]]
    December 15 04:46 PM
  • CaptainDooRight awesome tyman! i cant wait to hear your thoughts ::::::]]]]]]]]]
    December 12 08:10 PM
  • CaptainDooRight hey bro, remmeber me i was the guy making the music looking for a drummer, anywho here's my new trvth album all complete just released today, https://trvth.bandcamp.com/album/inordinate-and-surpassing
    December 12 07:13 PM
  • SowingSeason yeah man was a great game. I got lucky!
    November 4 01:36 AM
  • SowingSeason well I've put up a lot of points, BUT that was with Lamar Jackson and also before Melvin Gordon started eating into Austin Ekeler's workload. Should be a close matchup, we'll see.
    October 27 03:37 PM
  • SowingSeason good luck today btw. hoping to move into 1st place with a win but I need Derek Carr to ball out to make up for Lamar Jackson's absense.
    October 27 03:32 PM
  • SowingSeason Decent. The similarities are a little too obvious for me and it's not as moody as BN or as powerful as MO. Still a solid 3.5. I always struggle to be wowed by any of these imitation bands (save for TROW); they just come across as cover bands.
    October 27 03:32 PM
  • Lucman I've never jammed them before! Sounds like it's one I need to check out. I'm not sure if All Hail surprises Polar Similar yet, but it's monstrous all the same.
    October 24 08:56 PM
  • Lucman It's definitely up there! Not sure about it making the top. Still early days and this year has been amazing for music. I'm going to say it's a contender for top ten.
    October 24 12:09 PM
  • SowingSeason haha, I was fuming at that loss because tbh I feel like I have/had a team capable of going undefeated. although this week is looking iffy as well because lamar jackson is on a bye :-(
    October 23 04:31 PM
  • Lucman Hey, man! Good to hear from ya again. I've been doing well. Summer is on its way down here so things have been heating up fast. I haven't jammed Gideon but they weren't on my radar to be honest.
    October 12 09:36 PM
  • pjquinones747 dude thank you so much! we're so proud of this. discourse and no longer are ones we almost never take out of our sets haha
    October 7 09:23 PM
  • SowingSeason I'm used to it ;-)

    September 10 10:56 AM
  • Divaman I added your name to the spreadsheet, but I can't grant you permission to get onto the sheet because I'm not the document owner (and I'm not sure who is). You can't get onto it by clicking on the link I put at the top of the list page, huh? (It was always open to everyone, but last month, the owner locked it. I had to ask for permission to be able to edit it because I'm hosting SOTD for September.)
    August 30 09:56 PM
  • Divaman You're welcome. You're all set. (I'll put you up on the spreadsheet later, as we still have a day.)
    August 30 03:09 PM
  • Divaman Just go up on the list and recommend a song. Once you do that, I'll add you to the list. And welcome aboard.
    August 30 12:56 PM
  • TheMrAlexK Hey man sorry it?s taken me so long to get back to you (house being painted/first day of college/work really taking me away from these past few days). Anyways, yeah I?m gonna try to find an exact time to draft (as well as the draft order) asap. What time zone are you in?
    August 27 07:06 PM
  • Beardog Yep, I see them!
    August 14 07:48 AM
  • Beardog If you wanna stayd a little bit on my music you can follow me on Instagram, I post some snippets there occassionaly!
    August 13 07:43 PM
  • Beardog Yes man, I'm going to! I'm close to finishing my next record, and when I release the first single I'll put my entire discography on all streaming platforms!
    August 13 07:36 PM
  • Beardog Haha, awesome!
    August 9 07:48 AM
  • Beardog Nice to hear man! I got those lines from a song called 'Forever', we sing it with my association sometimes!
    August 8 08:17 PM
  • Beardog Yes bro!
    August 8 05:53 PM
  • Beardog Wow, thanks so much man! Means a lot!
    August 8 12:50 PM
  • TheMrAlexK Oh yeah it?ll most likely be changed. It forces you to choose a draft date/time upon creating the league
    August 6 07:21 PM
  • TheMrAlexK Just sent a new one
    August 6 03:40 PM
  • TheMrAlexK Wtf that?s weird. Can you send me your email again?
    August 6 01:06 PM
  • TheMrAlexK Invite sent
    August 6 04:53 AM
  • Lucman Oh really? Man, I think it's one of the laziest records I have ever heard. Not an ounce of creativity, imagination, personality, or effort. I'm glad you're liking it but I'd take Unleashed anyday haha.
    August 1 09:45 PM
  • Dewinged Nice! Electric drums are awsm, I used to have one in my room for practice. Recent jams? Not really man, I've been pretty disconnected in general due to work and playing in bands. I started gathering members for Sol and been practicing for weeks, fun times. Also joined a band on drums called o'summer vacation, so be sure to check their bandcamp, they are crazy!
    July 31 05:24 AM
  • Dewinged I'm ok dude, buried under a pile of work, but went back to playing drums and I'm playing a show every week with a crazy Japanese punk noise math band. How bou you!?
    July 29 05:01 AM
  • Lucman Yep, I've had an acoustic for about 6-7 years. Just never went electric until now.
    July 28 04:38 AM
  • Lucman Nice, man! Response is a great choice. I've got so much I want to learn I'm not sure where to start haha.
    July 27 10:45 PM
  • Lucman Hey, guess who got an electric guitar!
    July 27 06:11 AM
  • Lucman That was my experience as well. I'm not sure if the quality of the songs dip in the back half but it's all so stylistically similar that it starts to wear thin by track 8-9.
    July 26 09:58 PM
  • JustPressPlay Thanks man!! RED has been growing on me hard since 2012 and my favorite band since around 2013/2014. They are incredible.
    July 20 10:54 PM
  • Lucman So am I man. After the hype wore down I realized it just didn't measure up to Types and Shadows. But take my words with some salt because from the looks of things it's being ust as loved as their best by others so far!
    July 17 11:39 AM
  • ramon. Some of the songs are, by and large, really damn good. I just find myself wanting to skip half the album. And yea man, The Summit really hurts because the band has some really great acoustic/non-chugga tracks that have pretty intricate instrumentation; feels like a huge cop out. I?ll definitely be jamming a few songs in playlists but I can?t see myself enjoying the full album experience any more than I do now in future.
    July 15 07:30 AM
  • ramon. I?m sad to see it too, really wanted to enjoy this one! Just finding every time I play through it I feel less enthused. Especially after rejamming the first three, particularly the debut and CoF. I reckon if some of the best cuts were mixed in with songs from The Titan, it might be more up my ally. Hoping it grows on me but not seeing how at this point :/
    July 14 08:50 PM
  • Dewinged Thanks dude. I've been in a weird mood lately since I started playing drums and guitar again, barely listening to new releases, and just jamming local bands and the stuff I have to practice for, but I'll give it a shot eventually.
    July 9 06:48 AM
  • Zeuzo awe thanks man :) I will try to be active more often from now on, miss discussing about Deftones with u
    July 7 10:06 AM
  • Zeuzo Yeah man I was around all this time, I just cant find time to be active :(
    July 7 10:00 AM
  • SowingSeason Dude it's such an amazing album. I have such a ridiculous connection with it.
    June 26 02:27 AM
  • SowingSeason Awesome to hear that it's all resonating so much. Yeah, Army might be the best song of the year so far for me. And Glen Hansard is a genius in his own right. I've been drowning in awesome music lately to the point where I can't even keep up.
    June 24 12:55 PM
  • Lucman Ah, I forgot about For All Eternity. I've heard the album with the planet on it and enjoyed it but I never got around to hearing the follow-up.
    June 23 11:08 PM
  • SowingSeason That's what I'm talking about!
    June 22 10:17 PM
  • SowingSeason I'm excited to hear what you think of it
    June 22 09:46 PM
  • SowingSeason sweet lemme know what you think of bad books...very soft, simon and garfunkel-esque if that's your thing...it's definitely up my alley and hits the nail on the head. beautiful folk
    June 22 07:40 PM
  • SowingSeason My top 5 albums so far are (in this order): Copeland "Blushing", Bad Books "III", Kishi Bashi "Omoiyari", Weyes Blood "Titanic Rising", and Glen Hansard "This Wild Willing". I'd say they're all essential 2019 listens.
    June 22 07:21 PM
  • Lucman Hey dude! I got a rec I think you'll love. Conquering the Fear of Flight by Wavorly. It's produced by Rob Graves and it def has some Red stylings, just a little more on the mellow side. It's awesome.
    June 19 09:37 AM
  • Lucman Nice 5 for Into the Sea btw! Def make sure to check out their debut too, it's fantastic.
    June 15 08:55 AM
  • Lucman Hahaha I haven't listened to it much to solidify a rating yet but I'd say it's in the 4-4.5 range.
    June 15 08:54 AM
  • Lucman Nice! Man, an electric guitar is one of my dream buys. I have an acoustic that I love to death but I'd love to buy a good electric one of these days.
    June 14 05:28 AM
  • tyman128 great to hear man! currently learning ?Drifter? on guitar
    June 14 05:23 AM
  • Lucman I did! So good. I actually recieved a stream of the album for review but I won't spoil it for you :)
    June 14 04:51 AM
  • Dewinged I'll give it a shot dude m/
    June 14 04:03 AM
  • Dewinged That's awsm dude. Thanks! We got 3 more tracks on the way n live shows in October!
    June 12 03:10 PM
  • Lucman Cool find, man. Has some old-school Underoath vibes. Might have to keep an eye on them.
    June 11 12:26 AM
  • Lucman Mmm, I wouldn't say to skip it but you won't be missing much if you do. If you enjoyed their previous record, go for it.
    June 8 07:58 AM
  • bentheREDfan **** yes I am ready for June 7th!
    May 24 09:42 PM
  • CaptainDooRight I?m really looking forward to hearing it bro!
    May 24 06:25 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Really just want you to put your best effort forward and show your personality, you can always make two versions of you want too, of each of the approaches you mentioned
    May 24 06:20 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yeah that works for me, just get it to me when you can, I doubt I?ll find anyone anytime soon but I wanna what you can do my friend!
    May 24 06:12 PM
  • Lucman Nice, man! Looking forward to reading it. Yeah, Violence is much better than Ultraviolet. It still doesn't live up to Behold or Yet, though, so I hope they haven't hit a permanent rut (I also hope they drop the eps next go around).
    May 17 06:34 AM
  • SlothcoreSam All good mate, it's definitely a moving album. Especially when you realize how personal and honest the songs are. I'm interested on your review, and the discourse surrounding the album by this community, it will be polarizing.
    May 16 02:57 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Lol was wondering if that was your name, guess not
    May 15 03:25 AM
  • CaptainDooRight wait oh crap is this Tyson Swank?!?
    May 15 12:13 AM
  • CaptainDooRight Hey bro crap I totally forgot did you still want that song I did
    May 15 12:12 AM
  • Lucman I don't believe I have. I'll check it out!
    May 12 10:02 PM
  • SlothcoreSam Hey, sorry in advance for the album to review. It's a difficult listen, and extremely polarizing album. Here is an interview that might help the review. https://www.punknews.org/article/69718/interviews-fat-mike-on-cokie-the-clown
    May 11 12:44 AM
  • Papa Universe your 2019 album to review is: Cokie The Clown - You're Welcome
    May 10 07:05 PM
  • Dolving999 I'll definitely keep you informed my friend! In the meantime, you can check the lyrics on bandcamp or YT, the concept of the album itself is a message I really wanted to pass on. Cheers!
    May 5 09:49 PM
  • Dolving999 Hey Tyman! Glad to know you liked the album man! It's always comforting knowing that somewhere in the world a dude is lightly headbanging to some weird s*** I made haha
    May 5 09:46 PM
  • Lucman It's gonna be sick, man!
    May 2 11:36 PM
  • CaptainDooRight sure of course no problem, you def don?t have to record anything and I?m more than happy to share it with you my friend, I?ll keep you posted!
    May 1 12:43 AM
  • CaptainDooRight Oh cool thanks I didn?t know anyone was interested. I took it down because I got all the feedback I needed on it. But I?ll post it back up for you and give you a private link. Maybe give me a day to get it back up. You like drumming my friend? Any stuff you have online of you drumming that I can check? Cheers
    May 1 12:29 AM
  • neekafat that's awesome man (:
    April 26 06:09 AM
  • Get Low Post-rock is a fantastic genre. Just recently got into it myself this past year or so. You'll love it.
    April 26 06:08 AM
  • Get Low As for "new" music, I got nothing. If you like hip-hop, check Nujabes. If you like post-rock, check World's End Girlfriend. I'm always reccing those two artists. Other than that, I really got nothing.
    April 26 06:05 AM
  • neekafat **** yessssss dude! I love it so much, my faves are "Are You Still Mad" "The Couch" and "Would Not Come" but there really are no duds imo, so glad you liked it (:
    April 25 11:51 PM
  • JohnnyoftheWell Heyhey your album to review is Dear Seattle - Don't Let Go! Enjoy :]
    April 22 06:06 PM
  • Dewinged Forgot to tell you my man, if you need any information regarding the recording or the project just shoot me an e-mail to dewingedmusic@gmail.com. I'll be happy to help!
    April 8 12:02 AM
  • Dewinged Hahaha nice! Glad you like them. That's what I'm hoping for! Gather a band n hit a studio!
    April 6 08:26 PM
  • Dewinged You got it! Thanks man!
    April 6 10:44 AM
  • Dewinged Maybe when/if the album comes out officially we can do smth like that ;)
    April 6 10:23 AM
  • Dewinged Eeeerrr I don't know man, not sure it's a good idea, it's just a demo lol
    April 6 10:22 AM
  • Dewinged Sure man, it's just a bunch of demos haha but I won't turn down your kind offer! Thanks dude!
    April 6 10:09 AM
  • Lucman Nice! I need to step up my rap game myself but it just isn't a style I find myself gravitating towards.
    March 31 08:02 AM
  • Lucman Exactly, that's what I've been noticing these past few years. I'm much more inclined to listen to stuff like Opeth or Extol now or the oldschool metalcore like Zao and Living Sacrifice.
    March 31 07:58 AM
  • Lucman I'd say if you enjoyed the singles you miiiight enjoy the record to some extant but yeah, set the bar to a 3 at the most when going in!
    March 31 07:55 AM
  • Lucman Not to mention that I Prevail's style of metalcore is quickly wearing thin on me these days. Just not as fond of it as I used to be.
    March 31 07:52 AM
  • Lucman Yeah, man, it's absolutely awful haha. I already thought their debut was as bad as metalcore can be but this one adds so many "new" ideas (like an EDM spaz out on one track) to it that it becomes an incoherent mess.
    March 31 07:50 AM
  • Dewinged Sure, shoot me an email!
    March 31 07:38 AM
  • twlichty That'd be awesome. We'd really appreciate a review to get it some exposure!
    March 23 07:41 PM
  • twlichty Comments like that put a huge smile on my face. Glad you're enjoying the song man! I'll let ya know when the EP is out!
    March 23 07:37 PM
  • Lucman Hey Ty, good to hear from ya again! Well let's see, I've recently been really into Opeth, as you could probably tell haha! The new Copeland record is currently my AOTY so I highly recommend it. Heath McNease has a new record you might dig. He's a Christian hip hop artist but he also dabbles in singer/songwriter stuff. Be Clean Again is the name of his new record.
    March 17 09:29 PM
  • veninblazer yea i think my problem is they throw me into a dead end (i.e: when I concede that Erase Me's lyrics are a step down, their response is "a step off the Empire state building") and I have no clue how to respond to that, so I end up comparing it to a Machine Head song with much worse lyrics and that led to an argument.
    March 17 05:26 PM
  • veninblazer yea true. i guess i'd be better off leaving these threads but it sucks when you actually want to talk about stuff and everyone's dismissive as hell
    March 17 07:32 AM
  • veninblazer yeah, i mean i do cause a lot of s***, but i can literally make one comment and then have half a dozen people on my ass for it, i've never been good with those types of confrontations so it's bound to cause a lot of s*** unless they actually expect me to sit there, read it all, and never respond to a lick of it.
    March 17 05:40 AM
  • veninblazer yea. plus Storm's continuing his grudge against me lol
    March 17 05:35 AM
  • veninblazer Needless to say, Kenbo seems to want me blacklisted from discussing Erase Me because I won't just sit there and take it all.
    March 17 05:34 AM
  • veninblazer I'll tell you what you missed here, because I got into another argument. Some people love to try and throw me off and pull me into this dead end position, expecting me not to try and counter it. Almost like they think their opinion is objective, meanwhile accusing me of being unable to handle opinions lol.
    March 17 05:32 AM
  • Dewinged Thanks a lot man! Hope I can live up to it!
    March 5 02:16 AM
  • veninblazer Fair enough man.
    March 2 09:16 PM
  • veninblazer yeah you kinda have. I kept on the path because I wanted to avoid that outcome more than anything. But I think it'll be a more gradual slowdown than anything. Might take on the new Holding Absence when it drops, even if it takes a week to write.
    March 2 07:57 PM
  • veninblazer Doing well man. My In Flames review got neg-bombed and a bunch of people countered it so it's now my most successful review hahaha, and I've decided I might take a break and re-evaluate my process. Promise you I'm not pulling a DropTune just yet. I'll probably throw out like one or two more reviews this month unless I get a massive wave of inspiration.
    March 2 07:53 PM
  • veninblazer Aye, where have you been lately?
    March 2 06:09 PM
  • Dewinged Mosh pit in the room, let's go! lol
    February 14 05:54 AM
  • Dewinged I will, if I survive! ;D
    February 14 05:49 AM
  • Dewinged Yo, seeing Neurosis Converge tonight so I'm out of my skiiiiin. But otherwise just another boring day at the office until then ;) How about you ?
    February 14 12:04 AM
  • Papa Universe you rec me metalcore and alt-metal? you really are a risk-taker. i like them ballsy fellas, you got me hooked.
    February 4 09:38 PM
  • SowingSeason if you're ever unsure my universal advice is always to just apply, the worst thing that happens is you make your interest known and the staff begin to follow your reviews more closely (exposure is big because promotions ultimately come down to a vote)...I applied for contrib and got passed over my first time, but then they picked me up before the year was over.
    February 3 02:12 PM
  • SowingSeason generally speaking a contributor should have in the neighborhood of 20 or more reviews, cover new releases, write consistently and well enough to be considered borderline professional (with the potential to one day write at a staff level), and be a positive role model/good citizen...there's a lot that goes into decision-making but I'd say those bullet points are a good start.
    February 3 02:11 PM
  • BenThatsMyJamin Hey dude sorry I haven't been on here much recently but right back at ya! Born again this year so always up for talking about Jesus atm :) God bless
    February 1 09:28 AM
  • Lucman You're in for a treat. VxV and Types and Shadows are practically perfect records.
    January 23 05:31 AM
  • Lucman So glad you love them! Have you ever listened to Wolves At the Gate? They're more post, hardcore than My Epic but I reckon you'll love them just as much. They're actually the band that got me into metal.
    January 22 09:14 PM
  • Friday13th Nice, yeah I had lessons growing up for piano and then taught myself guitar
    January 18 10:42 PM
  • Friday13th Mainly piano but also a bit of guitar/bass guitar. How about you?
    January 18 06:24 PM
  • Lucman Good to hear, dude! Behold is a top ten record of all-time for me. Discovered them not long after that record came out and I've loved em since.
    January 17 03:56 AM
  • ZombieToyDuck Sure thing man! I got one spot left actually, go post it in the thread!
    January 16 03:48 PM
  • ramon. Sick dude! And great picks. Wrongdoers is a top 3 metalcore record for me. I also performed a bunch of AILD songs as music performances on guitar throughout middle school and high school! No better time to be an AILD fan as they seem to be on the verge of new material which is sick! Stoked you dig
    January 16 12:57 PM
  • Dewinged Oh and about the Deutrom record, still havent heard it in full lol, it feels a bit daunting for some reason, i don't know.
    January 15 04:42 AM
  • Dewinged Gotcha. Thanks! Will work on the list today or tomorrow since staff's already out.
    January 15 12:29 AM
  • sugarcubes hey it's alright, thanks though
    January 11 09:25 PM
  • Dewinged Hahaha no, no, it's all yours. I jammed half of it this morning but honestly don't like it much. Still gotta listen to the whole thing but idk, not clicking with me for now.
    January 9 07:59 AM
  • Dewinged I see, well, I hope it's all good there man, be safe!
    January 9 07:11 AM
  • Dewinged You live in Lebanon? Isn't that in the frontier with Siria? I mean, I only know what I see in the news but didn't the refugee crisis last year hit you there?
    January 9 07:03 AM
  • Dewinged Oh so you're in the UK? And then going to Uni in the US? Sounds like a good time man! Btw, about to check that Mark Deutrom right now.
    January 9 01:11 AM
  • Dewinged More in your favor! Aaaaaah so jealous!
    January 8 06:38 AM
  • Dewinged Aaaah I miss Uni so much, just studying was so chill. Enjoy that 5 days weekend dude! I have a 3 days myself too, and just came off holidays lol
    January 8 04:11 AM
  • Dewinged Gonna check it today, heard only the first 3 tracks and it was a bit all over the place but if you say it's good I'll give it a full listen. I'm doing good man, thanks for asking, just went back to work recently, playing too much Destiny and surviving marriage, how about you?
    January 8 02:41 AM
  • Papa Universe Agrypnie - Grenzgśnger
    January 7 01:56 AM
  • Papa Universe by the way, what the hell is the deal with that Limp Bizkit album? is it really good?
    January 5 10:41 PM
  • Papa Universe oh okay
    January 5 10:31 PM
  • Papa Universe 15 recs it is then
    January 5 10:29 PM
  • Papa Universe you can give more than one rec, so that album goes on the list alright. then what kind of rec and how many would you like?
    January 5 10:20 PM
  • oWhoadYo sweet, hope ya like em! :^)
    January 2 04:32 AM
  • oWhoadYo Of course, will do man. Did you check out the music videos for the some of the songs from the album, by chance?
    December 31 06:34 PM
  • oWhoadYo Awesome man, thank you! We are honored! Hopefully in the new year we'll put out a new release, maybe a split with a fellow local band. At any rate, if you're down to do another review that'd be awesome!
    December 31 08:06 AM
  • Zeuzo Thanks man :]
    December 25 12:20 PM

    December 10 04:50 PM
  • Divaman Belated happy birthday!
    December 9 08:11 PM
  • Drifter you are one of two people who hasn't submitted a song for round 2 of my comp. please get one in asap!
    November 28 11:30 PM
  • SowingSeason nah the end of the year has been slow as hell for me...at least as far as new releases are concerned. I've been trying to back track on old recs, somewhat unsuccessfully
    November 28 03:09 PM
  • ramon. If you haven't tried Erra, they (alongside Northlane) kinda kickstarted the current spacey prog metal core shtick that Invent Animate and Silent Planet do so you'll probably also really dig their album Augment. Thornhill also dropped a release called Butterfly earlier this year and its a wonderful bridge between that spacey progcore sound and more addictive poppy choruses and its quite sweet stuff so check it!

  • ramon. Haste the Day, Norma Jean, The Chariot, and Zao all have varying degrees of sludgier southern or hardcore influences. The last two Norma Jean records and the last Haste the Day record are brilliant starting points for this sorta stuff, and if you like what you hear on those, you can jam pretty much anything else any of those four bands have done that's got a decent average and you'll probably have a good time.
    November 27 10:46 AM
  • ramon. Ok, a few you could try would be War of Ages, Haste the Day, Norma Jean, Architects, Northlane, The Chariot, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, or Zao. War of Ages and AILD are more traditional At The Gates core, especially albums like Eternal, Shadows Are Security, or The End of Heartache. Northlane and current Architects are much more in the Silent Planet spacey prog prod end of core with albums like the first two Northlane records or pretty much any of the last three Architects records.
    November 27 10:45 AM
  • ramon. Yo! What kind of metalcore you after? Name a few bands you already dig and I?ll drop some recs! Metalcore has a very wide variance of styles so I could recommend a bunch of stuff and none of it might pertain to what you are interested in.

  • veninblazer Honestly not sure yet, if everything goes right I'll drop my first single (which also happens to be the shortest song that will be on the album) sometime mid-2019.
    November 20 09:38 PM
  • Beardog Most of the time I make a fast beat to get a foundation, but improve it / add extra fills when the song is finished. Thanks for the review too, means a lot!
    November 18 05:49 PM
  • Lucman Same. Crowns, Kutless, Newsboys, etc. All have severely dropped off for me. The CCM album I've really loved this year though (I'm talking top ten worthy) is Andrew Peterson's Resurrection Letters. Gorgeous thing that is. Highly recommended!
    November 17 09:39 AM
  • Lucman I'm kinda surprised their still going at it too! I thought about it but I don't think I'll cover it. One of our other staffers who appreciates their style of music a lot more than I do took a stab at it and wrote an excellent full length for it. I used to really like them back in the day with Lifesong but I can't say the same today and I found their new one real bland.
    November 17 09:32 AM
  • veninblazer For sure.
    November 12 10:15 PM
  • veninblazer Thanks, I'll check it out. and tbh the troll negs are a tad annoying but I'm pushing through.
    November 11 09:26 PM

    November 5 12:55 AM
  • Beardog Nice man, thank you so much
    November 4 12:00 PM
  • SowingSeason you can always rec me anything, but know that I'm awful at following through
    November 3 02:40 PM
  • Asura14 I don't dislike the concept of rating, I don't try and have it detract from my enjoyment, some things are just fun/cool to listen to but not particularly good and thats fine.... They might not be as popular but for whats worth I really enjoyed your NV and TOP reviews even if our scores aren't that close
    November 2 04:08 PM
  • Asura14 I read the review dude xD it was pretty funny. I guess I'm a bit too strict with my scores but I always give them comparably (at least within genres) so it becomes a little harder of a process but for some reason I can't not do that... also I liked mwy and myles' records a lot but I don't feel like listening to those as often tbh
    November 2 03:41 PM
  • Asura14 Damn xD its literally the one song I feel meh about.... But ye, I haven't given 5s this year ^^' But in terms of putting on and listening all the way through multiple times its the new Night Verses and Greyhaven's Empty Black mostly, but also the new Tremonti, Monuments and Push T's albums as well
    November 2 03:30 PM
  • Asura14 Ye I get that, there are a few albums like that for me this year tbh and trench is one of those, even if I sometimes skip pet cheetah... Anyway wasn't trying to bash on your opinion or anything, just curious
    November 2 03:09 PM
  • Asura14 Just curious dude, still think Twenty One Pilots is a 5? I really dig the album just not nearly as much
    November 2 12:19 PM
  • Beardog karsl_1998@hotmail.com
    November 1 12:41 PM
  • Beardog Sure, go ahead! I can check it in 4 hours or something like that
    November 1 12:37 PM
  • Beardog Yeah it's such a groovy riff, I love the moment it comes in so much
    November 1 12:18 PM
  • Beardog I got all the melodies (except vocals) in midi files, I guess you can export those with Reaper so maybe you can try learning it from there
    November 1 12:04 PM
  • Beardog Thanks, for the next record I'm working on I'm taking more of a catchy progressive rock approach to my songs and they will be more vocal driven. Tuning-wise I'm not entirely sure, I changed it up in most of my songs. If I remember correctly FtW was drop C, but other songs went as low as drop G. I can look it up when I'm home if you really want to know.
    November 1 11:48 AM
  • Beardog Ha, that's funny. Haven't really listened to Korn but I guess I see what you mean
    November 1 10:39 AM
  • Beardog Thank you so much! The clean vocals were kind of hard to perform in some places, although I think most of the harsh vocals came out really nice
    November 1 10:24 AM
  • Beardog That's amazing man! Yeah, I'm really proud of some of the riffs I came up with for this record, and it makes sense that you dig Follow the Wolves since that riff was majorly inspired by Breaking Benjamin
    November 1 10:17 AM
  • Beardog wow awesome! thank you
    November 1 05:30 AM
  • pjquinones747 I'm not sure why it won't let me upload it correctly.
    October 31 11:38 PM
  • Beardog Drums are programmed bruv, tried my best to get them to sound more raw than my previous record though
    October 31 07:44 PM
  • thumbcrusher If you have the time dude that would be sweet :)
    October 29 07:25 PM
  • thumbcrusher Thanks very much for checking out our EP and what you said man, it means a lot!
    October 28 10:12 PM
  • JustJoe. That's pretty much exactly what I thought so glad you had a similar experience. It won't win though I can dream.

  • OverkillFanBoy1980 I'LL NEVER THE LISTS
    October 20 10:00 PM
  • Dewinged That's cool man, I was on a strong pace when I started but I tend to lose my mojo pretty easily, getting busy with work and making music or just getting distracted with videogames.
    October 18 04:05 AM
  • oWhoadYo that's perfectly fine, thank you!
    October 15 11:51 PM
  • Lucman For sure! I'll definitely support them. You've got a real knack for writing and I really enjoy your reviews.
    October 14 08:39 AM
  • Lucman Sleeping Giant's "I Am" is one of my favourites of this year and the new record from Showbread's Josh Dies is superb as well.
    October 14 08:36 AM
  • Lucman Oh, sweet, man! Thank you, that means a lot.
    October 14 08:32 AM
  • Lucman Mainly rock and metal stuff but I listen to pop and worship acts that spark up good reviews on JFH. The Choir's Bloodshot is my Christian album of the year so far. An absolute classic.
    October 14 08:27 AM
  • Lucman Here ya go. https://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/cdreviews/mewithoutYouUntitledEP.asp
    October 14 08:25 AM
  • Lucman I actually write for a Christian music website (https://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/default.asp) so what reviews I write I send them there (my last was mwY's untitled ep and I'm currently working on one for the LP). Secular reviews I either write on my personal blog or over here.
    October 14 08:23 AM
  • Lucman That's great to hear, man. As a Christian myself I like to support good Christian music and I manage to find a number of excellent releases every year so if you need a few recs just shout me!
    October 14 08:16 AM
  • Lucman Hahaha, that's hilarious, man. I grew up on CCM and artists like TobyMac and Newsboys so I like to keep up with them even if I'm don't really listen to them anymore. The new T-Mac record was surprisingly solid, though! I'd love to see a review for it here.
    October 14 07:30 AM
  • oWhoadYo Hey man, what's your actual name? I want to quote your review on our bandcamp page
    October 12 10:10 PM
  • ZombieToyDuck sorry to respond late! haha I gotta jam it again I haven't made up my mind about it yet
    October 12 04:16 PM
  • letsgofishing EP tomorrow. LP next week. Most likely.
