| YakNips all good brother, the movie was love exposure
| RosaParks No, I'm not. I dislike homosexuality and I don't think it should be considered normal, but I don't hate homosexuals, there's a difference. Like, there's a lot of LGBT people around here and you don't see me talking s*** about them just because they're part of that group.
| YakNips i need your film expertise man. hmu asap@!
| Source lol you worked so hard for that sub 2.5 average rating and now it's gone
| Source o brother where art thou
| DoofDoof your new chart looks worse than the old one :3
| GhandhiLion Apparently there is a well known prim guitarist from my country https://youtu.be/PfLJvXNeY-M
| GhandhiLion Ok. I will edit the list without making it private rn.
| GhandhiLion oh lol. Do you get a notification if I edit the list?
| GhandhiLion You might like 'William Ackerman' and 'Alex de Grassi'. They melded Fahey with new age in the 70s.
| GhandhiLion The ones I have on my phone are the more recent microtonal ones. | Oviri, Impermanence, Senescence, Ressentiment, Ship of Theseus.
| GhandhiLion He has a lot of great albums, you would probably get value out of checking everything in chronological order and deciding what works for yourself.
| GhandhiLion He has a very varied discography yes. I have only listened to his early and recent stuff. The first few albums are ambient/ idm/ industrial.
| GhandhiLion yes excellent band. I want to rate their whole discography some time next year.
| GhandhiLion http://www.classicalnotes.net/contents.html#classics | This website has been really valuable to me.
| KingQueenKnave I called him both a redundant cowboy and a ****ing moron.
| KingQueenKnave I called out some pro gun nutjob who mocked a user's mental health.
| GhandhiLion Nice Menace Ruine rating, check out the other 2008 albums too. | I found this Hawaiian guitarist you would probably like. https://youtu.be/m-_wmLJcytA
| GhandhiLion It is cringe funny yeah. Especially since it's followed by a Hawks esque comment. I'll remove it if you want.
| PunchforPunch Umm... I'm jamming some techno, bobbing my head to this techno tune, replying to you while I'm jamming some techno.
| PunchforPunch Y-you wanna know what I'm doing?? *gasp* *blush* you sure?
| PunchforPunch Just wondering where have you been in the last 24 hours
| DoofDoof It has to happen naturally - I think given long enough it just might, dont force it
| DoofDoof If Average Rating: 2.18 goes as low as 1.68 you will have reached Sput legendary status
| artiswar s***, good question. I don't know, just go with your gut then. Pick the one you think will wow me the most haha.
| artiswar we should have a classical night some time on discord. Make like a 1 hour playlist of the best symphonies, and pick a night. If we're all around we'll jam it together. I think that would be sweet
| GhandhiLion It would make sense to separate the two as they are so different in tonne. But.. I can't do that.
| GhandhiLion es but it still brings down the original film for me. For one thing, the characters are explored more in depth in the show. The film adaptation doesnt suffer as much as most adaptations do, but condensing something as complex as gits into a film had its problems.
| GhandhiLion One of the reasons I'd but gits bellow AE, is that it lost value after watching Stand Alone Complex.
| GhandhiLion We should stop the off-topic discussion on that page.
| artiswar https://discord.gg/g6U4hsWe're doing it on July 5th around 6pm EST.
| artiswar just thought it would be funny to get your take on a crazy deathcore album. Maybe get you away from that musty awful old classical you're always listening to so you can hear some real music for once.
| artiswar hey, I know deathcore is pretty much the exact opposite of music you like, but would you want to come on discord on July 5th to jam a new album with us? I'd love to have an outlier there completely s***-talking the album. It's only 25 minutes long, hope you make it.
| GhandhiLion http://rateyourmusic.com/collection/GhandhiLion/tracks,r4.0-5.0,ss.e | here is my 4s in order of year.
| GhandhiLion You should try Bioentropic Damage Fractal. It has a member of Behold... the Arctopus.
| GhandhiLion Perhaps Ys or Spirit They're Gone Spirit They've Vanished for the 2000s.
| GhandhiLion hmmm they are questions I don't have the answer to right now. Many albums I still need to be more familiar with.
| JohnnyoftheWell What word?? Yeah, my reaction to the early eps was distressingly wholesomeness but there's defo enough to love about it
| JohnnyoftheWell also also need to finish Haibane! is weird, the more I got into it the more reticent I was to keep watching - like I think it's best saved for cosy destress times rather than powering through, so am majorly spacing it out and binging Psycho Pass meanwhile
| JohnnyoftheWell Dw dw, was just curious to see what your thoughts would be (and ofc would also love to read anything you did hypothetically write lol but that'll have to be a pipe dream)!
| JohnnyoftheWell Mmm this is 50% the response I expected and 50% the reason you should do it anyway ;]
| JohnnyoftheWell Plz review Paradise of Replica. I wanna see what happens if you write at length about cute airy things you don't hate ;] also that album could use a review...
No, no puedo votar aún.
| 50iL Oh s***, you from Mexico? I'm Guatemalan, born and raised.
| SoulFunction Damn.. do you ever become a drug mule for the cartel or getting recruited by someone on your neighborhood?
| SoulFunction After that you became the leader of your gang, got it. Please tell me more about Mexico though, is it really as bad as the news makes it out to be? constant conflicts between cartels and stuff.
| SoulFunction O s*** that's pretty metal. Did you cut too deep and it became scar?
| SoulFunction where do u live? are you in highschool or college? do you have a sibling? is there any story that you want to share?
| artiswar not sure what you're referencing but ok
| Darius The Imposter Sorry, i was drunk when I sent that, lol. I do think you are a moron though.
| scarecrow46290 I will return soon. and DSO has one album of apocalyptic magnitude.
| SoulFunction wtf my post was cut out. I meant string quartet along the lines of Debussy Ravel Streichquartette by Alban Berg. I've checked some string quartet recordings and didn't like it because they were atonal and dissonant.
| SoulFunction Hey could you give me some recs along the lines of Debussy
| artiswar it's okay if you are gay tho, I would understand since you like Wagner and gay s*** like that. it's cool
| artiswar my comment =( I no u not fagggI sorryI luv udid for the lulz*muah*
| SoulFunction That was 2 months ago, I owned a copy now. Paid big bucks for it on discog.
| SoulFunction I was searching for this ultra-rare NY house record since no one on SLSK has it. This site came up on google search, so I lurked around a bit then decided to make an account.
| GhandhiLion Check out Psarantonis if you have not already.
| JohnnyoftheWell Always up for being devastated by your commentary ;] here you are https://nightmarepuppy.bandcamp.com
| JohnnyoftheWell You up for hearing my new album - am curious as to what you'd hate most about it ;] (don't you dare rate it though!)
| 50iL Try "Works of Lili Boulanger," the sonic quality is superb and the pieces themselves have great dynamic range. I found it on Apple Music and here's the Spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/album/6Njro0egFah8PgqeTo9TTK
| 50iL Oh my god. Dude. Boulanger is amazing. Been absolutely loving Du fond de'l abime so much. Thanks on the rec, it's one of the best I've been given.
| JohnnyoftheWell Lol just make sure you drop the full breakdown somewhere visible :P
| JohnnyoftheWell Oh goodness need to stock up on popcorn for that. Would probably be a pretty suitable counterpoint tbh
| JohnnyoftheWell Lol you confuse me (not that that album's Totally Amazing). You should check Soutaisei Riron though, they're fab
| JohnnyoftheWell do you dig etsuko yakushimaru btw? She seems kinda your vibe
| budgie we're best friends right?
| budgie taco taco, taco burrito taco butt
| GhandhiLion https://megaupload.nz/24V0P9r4n7/In.Search.of.Blind.Joe.Death.2013.480p_mkv
| GhandhiLion "the latter is possibly my favorite piece in the album.". I guess I was well off then, I would of assumed you would hate that. Agreed about it being a good interpretation. Never noticed you liked early Fahey, I always presumed you just liked the albums closer to classical (most of them). | I have a 480p rip of the 2013 documentary if you want it.
| GhandhiLion I'm not surprised you don't like improvisation. The other tracks are fairly straightforward country blues though, I'm just surprised you like that stuff.
| GhandhiLion *I'm surprised you like more tracks than blend on fantasias.
| budgie https://media2.giphy.com/media/115MiKrZ3jrh04/giphy.gif
| budgie im so disappointed in u
| JohnnyoftheWell Fair enough, but have a watch of the first 2 mins or so anyway ;] www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1I2xo-PD3g
| 50iL Ah, I've heard of Albeniz as well but, again, not in depth.
| 50iL I've heard Debussy and de Falla, which I enjoy. I do need to properly get into them both though, I don't know the other composer, I'll look at his body of work. Thanks!
| 50iL Gotcha. Also, any recs on Impressionism? I loved Ravel's Daphnis Et Chloe and Pavane pour un infante difunte.
| 50iL Copy that. I actually had already downloaded the Red Fish Blue Fish recording haha
| JohnnyoftheWell It's got some moments for sure. Guessing you've seen that live vid from that era where she plays air baseball with her band?
| JohnnyoftheWell the fact that you have mariko goto's solo debut rated higher than leonard cohen's makes me confused but somehow happy
| 50iL I've heard some pieces, not all of them. I actually planned to get into all of his percussive works after I'm done digging into his orchestral stuff. The pieces that I've heard are absolutely amazing, though. Really damn energetic.
| JohnnyoftheWell I was going to ask you that lol - checked out the first few episodes in the meantime though, and I'd say yes so far
| GhandhiLion Ooh you listened to some Onkyokei. Check out older EAI artists like Keith Rowe as well.
| 50iL So, uh, Legende is pretty much a 5. I need to digest it properly still, but I found it absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for the rec.
| YakNips hey man who was the guy adam neely talked about that composes the microtonal string quartets?
| 50iL Sweet, hope you dig! I'll listen to Legende tomorrow or the day after and give you my first impressions.
| 50iL Ah, fair enough, you seem quite busy then haha. Make sure to check his String Quartets, Concerto Grosso(s), and Symphonies when you feel down for some serialist goodness.
| 50iL Nice! What about Schnittke? Sorry if I'm being redundant, just making sure.
| 50iL Someone asking me to listen to more of my favorite composer? I'll take it! Check Bartok sometime soon, though.
| GhandhiLion Rym lists. Check out their third album, it is better.
| Saros Oof, that's a bummer. It certainly is though, definitely worth the wait.
| Saros I had to change it when I picked up DMC 5. It's really fun, there's so much great stuff in it. Haven't played it nearly as much as I've wanted to, but I've done only one playthrough and it's probably my favorite game of the year so far.
| GhandhiLion A lot of the stuff I have seen has been with friends so it was the more popular cliche stuff. Code Gease ranks as one of the worst things I have ever seen. Is MAL actually good or?
| SilentScream213 Yeah unfortunately I have yet to find any Experimental stuff I I'm into, but I'm not writing off the entire genre. When I get to darker subgenres like Power Electronics I think I'll find some stuff I like. I really enjoy Nicole 12 but could never find his albums anywhere.
| SilentScream213 Sorry for the late response - No idea I even had a shoutbox. I listened to Stockhausen because I wanted to become familiar with all kinds of music. I have been listening to the pioneers/top artists in all different genres. Stockhausen is very important to the Musique Concrete scene and therefore the Experimental Music genre as a whole.
| Zig Hey, J.A.! Tell me something, is Edgard Varese among your likings ?
| Darius The Imposter Well you hate john cage and philip glass so i assumed that sort of modern realm of experimental composers genre is not up your alley.. but then again i never listened john zorn apart from like one song
| Trifolium Hope so too! Love the piece a lot. Always a disappointment when it's a s***ty performance. Fingers crossed!
| budgie possession was pretty ****in' sweet though
| budgie ugh you're so predictable
| budgie hey butthead recommend me a horror movie
| Trifolium Very nice choice man. Love that thing too. On another note: going to experience Grieg's Piano Concerto live for the first time in a few weeks. Can't wait!
| Trifolium Aha! Good. Love the man a lot, enjoy almost everything he made. What's your fave by him?
| Trifolium Haha! Nice question! How'd you know I like him? Super difficult though, jeez. In the end I actually think it has to be the fifth, because I have a big personal connection with it.
| Forgive umm i dunno what that is? haha sorry
| diamondsmile That's fine. Can you date me? I like anime girls. I love anime girls.
| Forgive lol i dont know what U look like and i have a boyfriend rn i hope im reply ing to the right box
| Forgive omg i feel like a dummy! i have been replying to everyone in my own box hahaha
| GhandhiLion I think I found black metal that you would like https://youtu.be/Az0svbmn_Ns
| hal1ax ohh looks interesting. hopefully it's on slsk
| kalkwiese I actually listened to some of the tracks, but I can't remember much of it. I'm curious what this whole thing actually is.
| JohnnyoftheWell Hmm something a bit more out there premise-wise would be good; I feel like something a bit fantastical but with strong characters
| JohnnyoftheWell Aww, that was a [bitter]sweet ending, great stuff. Any further recs?
| hal1ax oh fck! Haha. ok i was thrown off cuz i usually rate classical compositions by composer and not by performer / rendition. the way you do it makes more sense but i cant be fcked to add so much stuff to the database
| hal1ax you haven't rated it yet. do not lie to me
| hal1ax give it a good rating b1tch
| JohnnyoftheWell Aha no, that's a good spoiler - looking forward to the rest (also hiya Gandhi lmao)
| JohnnyoftheWell Well, I defo got more of the sadness/humour but none of it prepared me for that suicide cult island double episode. Holy ****.
| GhandiLioLOLThisME prof pic = homie getting beaten and held at riflepoint. av = unidentified individual being dragged through the streets naked, on the way to a life-ending beating
| Tyler. https://discord.gg/dx8p73
| JohnnyoftheWell Finally started NHK - the fourth episode in Akihabara/maid cafes was the most simultaneously hilarious and depressing thing I've seen in a while...
| kalkwiese Well, I kind of did that. First I was amazed by all this obscure and weird stuff, then I 1ed them too, just to push some stats.
| Casavir Well, when I post in someone's shoutbox or comment on a review, it shows the picture I changed it to but it's still the same one as before on my profile.
| Casavir Well, I changed it. That said, it's not really working out on my main profile.
| Darius The Imposter No i was going to say a bad word to you but it is bad and i will get in trouble
| Gyromania your ratings could fit into a book entitled "the posers guide to elite music" lolol
| JohnnyoftheWell there are about 4 tracks I couldn't find anywhere aside from the iTunes store and I don't know how well they'll respond to being shared out though :/
