 | lalchimiste I've only been recently getting into jazz and it can be a bit overwhelming at times with the amount of records to check out! My exposure to anything pre 1956 is very limited aside from Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt and some vocal jazz standards. Anyways, do you have any ultimate recs for Dizzie Gillespie and Charlie Parker? Like that ultimate/must have compilation you know haha?! Thanks man

 | Animadversion Well actually I was checking out the recent albums uploaded on RuTracker and that's where I saw the Maiorem album. It was tagged as "Post-Metal" so that interested me. But well yeah i didn't really like it... sorry for your friend! But I listened to the album quite absent-mindedly so my appreciation (and my rating) of the album might change if I go back to it in the future. Idk if your friend is aware their album is illegally available to download though...

 | Frippertronics personally just find it to be a bad record by their standards, especially considering what came before it and definitely after it. More like a 2 but I don't really like any of the songs on it.

| Alex61 Depends on whether you want to have a definitive worst album of the year to be honest lol, it's reeaally not good. Usually if all else fails her voice is alright to listen to but even speaking as a fan of Sia, I found her voice incredibly grating on the Christmas album.
