  • ArsMoriendi I'm a mad man so I went through your entire list. These following artists need 1 more tag to be new wave: Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Family Fodder (art pop new wave), The The (art pop new wave), The Vapors.

  • SlothcoreSam The latest album wasn't too bad, had some Wavves, Cloud Nothings vibes,so kinda heard it all before. I'll check some of their other stuff. My brand of pop punk is more classified as melodic punk, or DIY emo. I actually hate real pop punk, the over produced, music industry whores.

  • ArsMoriendi I don't really I know, but their song Woof Woof has been a recent obsession, so I think I'm gonna do a deep dive in May. (I'd do it sooner, but I owe Melody's Echo Chamber its due since they have a new album coming out in a week and I get into things slowly lol and I'm currently preoccupied with Mazzy's Seasons...and I'm slow with music haha)

  • SlothcoreSam Yeah that is one of life's biggest questions. Shall I catch up on all the great old albums rediscovering all the hidden gems, or do I keep on top of all the latest releases trying to find the next big thing. Only so much time in the day. Ps showing off great post punk/noise punk, listening to The Gordons 1st album from 1981 right now, and it's fantastic!
    April 12 12:30 AM
  • SlothcoreSam There are 56 pages/editions, all that long, spanning 1982-1988, so enough to keep busy for a lifetime.
    April 12 12:23 AM
  • SlothcoreSam To get to the next issue of the magazine change the mmr-1 to mmr-2 in the address bar, and so on. There is so much gold to be found. YouTube has most of the releases, as they are not on Streaming services.

  • SlothcoreSam Hey sanga, have I got some homework for you. I've been slowly going through the maximum rock n roll reviews, there are some classics and a lot of hard to find albums and EPs reviewed. A lot of it would be right up your alley. So since you finished your user rec list, I recommend you start perusing this. https://www.maximumrocknroll.com/review/issues/mrr-1/

  • Divaman Yeah, me too. I just came off an '80s music cruise, and I randomly looked them up to see if they play live shows so I'd know whether to suggest them for a future cruise, and I saw that they just put out a new album. I added it to their Sputnik page earlier today.

    November 27 05:29 PM
  • SlothcoreSam Hey, I gotta redeem myself after that mediocre rec. This one is Anarcho-Punk out of the UK, Anthrax - Serfs Out. It has all those classic punk elements, with better production, and modern day lyrics. Their previous album from 2012 was really good as well. They are originally a UK82 band.

  • robertsona nah dude that's what it is I mean I don't want to hate or anything but it's just one of those situations. bands hate to hear it but: they're a live band first and foremost. every song was better live, including on my recording at the broadway. sorry. especially with rosie slater on drums but the guy in the baby's all right show with the new material was really good too. its pretty good but it's way less danceable and fun and funky and scary it's kinda wallpaper-y tbh

  • Britch2tiger No bother at all, I just know context is needed for my reasoning at times. It's just pretext for anyone willing to go the distance to listen for such albums.
    May 16 05:54 AM
  • Britch2tiger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HDDlBRNatE
    May 15 09:10 AM
  • Britch2tiger Otherwise if found on another medium they'd be considered unofficial, but still possible to rate them since randos manage to post/share the content online (ex: Acid Rain's We Were All Very Worried)
    May 15 09:08 AM
  • Britch2tiger Re-release in that a select album is found on another medium. Vinyl-only or cassette-only albums are much harder to listen/rate, so I give accounts a pretext to how difficult it would be to rate them.
    May 15 09:06 AM
  • Britch2tiger I mark [Vinyl] or [Cass] (cassette) for clarity.
    May 14 09:22 AM
  • Britch2tiger Regarding vinyl, as far as I've researched those specific albums don't have a CD re-release to their title. Less likely to be digital releases as well.
    May 14 09:18 AM
  • GhandhiLion Is ana your aoty?
