 | JohnnyoftheWell BEN save the day https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=200676
 | Project I agree that it lacks a bit of the replay value of Commensality, but I think the latter third is pretty darn strong, particularly Ashen. But Better Man Like Me is so grating and I wish he'd never done it because of all the "yuh"ing in the chorus
 | Project i am here to inform you that Kinnship has another album since I think we're the only people on sputnik who listen to him
 | JohnnyoftheWell is there actually something you wanted rev'd, or am i just flamin for no reason haha
 | JohnnyoftheWell bitch i gave you a 2017 b-sides compilation what more can you ask of me
 | rellik009 I think SCD and Death, My Love are good albums to start with, but his whole discog is relatively good. So yeah, czech em out :)
 | rellik009 looool it's fine we like us some good neck spazzing sometimes XD plus look at my chart 39% experimental wtf
 | rellik009 Oh yah XD sorry man it was supposed to be "proof that you were unironic" lmao but yeah you're a cool dude and I'm a dumb **** so I edited the message :D
 | rellik009 ok phew! I did doubt you I'm sorry bro
 | rellik009 man wtf are you saying: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=180932
 | Project i know man, those vocals are gorgeous. I just get lost in Homingbird every time
 | JohnnyoftheWell "If you simply want to vent or get your ego stroked, start a blog" lol
 | DoofDoof Sure, today I am open to anything
 | DoofDoof I can guarantee there is nothing offensive about it, it could well be a 3 but it followed an unsatisfactory listen to the new Strokes album and I just slung 2.5s at both. Neither gave me an awful lot.
 | DoofDoof middle of the road, more folk than rock but still just very in that middle territory
 | DoofDoof first listen and it just sounded way too MOR - will revisit it though
 | Beardog They just sounded like the last record, very loud vocals and you almost couldn't hear a thing in the guitars. It just makes them sound superboring, lacks all the heaviness that Air had.
 | Beardog Nah, saw them in Amsterdam with Periphery and Plini
 | DDDeftoneDDD Dude I liked Meta....this one I don't know...was not enjoying but I guess those melodies aren't easy to digest at first.
 | DDDeftoneDDD I disagree essentially with the rate. I like his jokes. You can put anything to ridicule tbh...check the full album youtube video...or just put it on if you use spotify or something...album is awesome
 | DDDeftoneDDD Drums are really good! There s a pair of albuns that may be better than that one from them. Follow the rates. I thought this might light you up, cause you were so upset with Astronoid lol
 | Egarran Someone sent me a quite controversial piece: https://bradhicks.livejournal.com/118585.html?fbclid=IwAR19z8StWyEzhcDojJp4MY_xEN7Mi3Y4eYXY2OUCPZN4ARQNrs43POicovII'd just want some sign of actual divinity in our society. But it seems to be humans all the way down. And those ****ers are nuts!
 | DDDeftoneDDD Yap the new. But a discog run is highly recommended. They re good imo
 | Egarran But so much in christianity is depraved too. Are we absolutely sure it is not being used by demons to lure humans into their trap? When you look at some priests, it's a tempting idea that they are evil in disguise.
 | DoofDoof why you listen to old man music like deftones
 | Egarran I'll say hello from you! Meanwhile listen to this, I agree with about 89% of it: https://youtu.be/aLg4AV60uWY
 | Egarran Oh man you're all in, I love it! Also it sounds like we are at stages where it takes more than arguments on sputnik to change our minds :) But I'm fascinated by your faith and belief, hopefully Jesus will come by my house some day. Some of my ancestors were Jewish, I hope that's good enough.
 | Egarran "Those who encounter angels in the Bible have their fears assuaged." Unless you're an Egyptian first-born amirite? Also where are they now? We have more people seeing fairies than angels afaik.
 | Egarran Already with the semantics. Then I guess it depends on what you mean by 'mean'.
 | Egarran Are you saying fairies are actually angels?
 | ramon. Hahaha aye man, I'm already a bit of a Devin nutter. Even own a signed copy of his Ancient cassette which I don't believe is even on the Sput database atm. While I agree a lot of Astronoid's riffing and melodicism might be akin to stuff seen on Devin's material, I definitely think the band is pulling a relatively singular shtick right now. Good call though. Devin must have covered almost every aspect of rock and metal under the sun at this point in time.
 | ramon. Yea gotta agree with you there. I can see what people mean when pointing to "tension" and all that jazz but I think the focus on builds and moving away from the hooks and riffs in Air diminishes the originality the band conveyed on Air. I've never heard riffs like the ones found in Air. Meanwhile, I feel like I've heard slower versions of everything found on S/T just by proxy of having listened to post rock in the past. The new record has caused me to appreciate Air a lot more.
 | ramon. I think it really depends what you enjoyed more about Air; the sound or the writing. For me, the actual sound of the band wore off quick relative to the songwriting. I feel like the "dream thrash" shtick works to bolster the band's songwriting and hooks, not the other way round. I know a lot of people like the band purely because of their sound though so I don't think it'll displease most people. Let me know what you think of it when you get round to it!
 | tyman128 hey man, I saw your post through Lucman?s shout box and it?s awesome to see the discussion and Christian community here on Sputnik. Anyway, what you said to Lucman is pretty much what I would tell you. If you wanna talk about anything, hit me up in the shout box, it?d be great to talk with some people here
 | ramon. Aye man likewise. Cool to see the other Christians on the site are well read and open for discourse. Always feel free to drop a shout if you need anything too!
 | Lucman It was a blast dude, excellent discussion all around. And same, always happy to share my faith and thoughts.
 | Hawks Yeah it?s awesome. Not gonna rate until I jam it properly but it rules from what I can tell so far.
 | Hawks I?m jamming it in the car right now actually lol. Gonna actually sit down and liste t work tonight.
 | bgillesp Just bought the limited dark green version
 | bgillesp Eras 3 confirmed this week at some point with contents revealed
 | TheSonomaDude I was too occupied by work but wow that AJFA thread looks like ground zero
 | Kaiwaz Let's bump this for a while, get some pages on it
 | Kaiwaz Thanks dude. He's the man!
 | bgillesp Gotcha. I waited forever to watch it with my family all together so I get it.
 | bgillesp But what'd you think of Plovdiv? My thoughts are at the bottom of this: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1068507
 | bgillesp I agree with that, but that's not gonna happen for reason of the companies not willing to put in that much work
 | bgillesp Yeah I was slightly hesitant but the orange/blue OM and orange/white Infinity combos are great. Gold works with Terria better though. Both work for Synchestra. Gold is better for Physicist but both work
 | bgillesp Nice try but nah. Honestly the Gold special from Omerch could be cheaper and would look just as cool as the orange though
 | bgillesp I've the limited to 100 for both so far. Checking every day fors on the third to make sure it stays that way. What's another $10 if it's already that much imo
 | bgillesp Nice! I haven't gotten mine from home yet but it's in. Waiting for or 3 to go on sale. Dev said it has AE!!
 | bgillesp Just noticed you never commented on my devin list and wondered if you ever saw it. Its on my second page of lists if you're interested. I just added Plovdiv. Lemme know what you thought of that release too!
 | Rowhaus He's with Iggy Pop now in rock n roll heaven
 | Rowhaus He's not really gone if we can find a way to remember him
 | Rowhaus I know I was looking forward to seeing the fireworks :[
 | Rowhaus been good man just keepin' it cool as usual
 | Demon of the Fall thanks man, you won't believe the stick you can get when slapping a 2.5 on a shoegaze/indie-pop/whatever album though, someone called me a 'youtube metal-head' once, that was funny.
 | CalculatingInfinity Enjoy it, you'll get your money's worth (more than I did I'm a filthy casual of Maiden).
 | CalculatingInfinity My friend has seen them 25 times (seen them all the way in the 80's), and they said that show would be possible in the top 5 times he's seen them. So don't worry about quality. You'd be surprised how easy it was to get a good standing spot, my main advice is to get to your spot the instant the support act is finished and you should get a good place.
 | Rowhaus nice to see some heavy devy boppin' around these threads
 | DDDeftoneDDD I'm in Lisbon (Portugal). Is where I am from. Its not usual this temperature but it got kind of unbearable outside lolol...Appreciate your feed back after you listen to zao's last LP then m/
 | DDDeftoneDDD I mean its 40 degrees outside but here at work is kinda climatized so I can dig pretty much anything lol m/
 | DDDeftoneDDD That's a really cool album man X) ATM (right now) I'm listening to the new YOB (check the track Original Face if you dont want to waste time) again to know if my 4.5 sticks...even if I drop it to a 4 its still pretty good (been on Deathspell Omega and Demilich since yesterday but in fact is not a very Summer "music"). But ultimately to rec you something I'm on the past week would be Zao - Well Intentioned Virus
 | DDDeftoneDDD plus I saw the thing with parksung and that was one of the reasons that made me talk...but the dude's general conduct was annoying me too
 | DDDeftoneDDD lololol I got it...let's listen some awesome music and have fun while sharing it!
 | DDDeftoneDDD but I admit, I regret a little bit to have done that...it took me some energy (arguing in English) and the thread got a little silent afterwards...sometimes I take somethings a little too serious and I shouldn't. I'm 35 and found out I'm going to be father next year (yaaay), and shouldn't be arguing with some disrespectful little brat (if that's the case)...I mean this is just a ****in website, who cares? lol X)
 | DDDeftoneDDD Hey man tks for the support. I noticed everyone was a little "afraid" to call him out, don't quite know why...I know my sputname is suspicious but I don't even like his taste on deftones ahahah for me he's getting all backwords, but I try to respect other people tastes, something he didn't do about Gojira (and I bet many other bands)
 | bgillesp Gotcha, that makes sense, I just misread it. And here's to hoping! They'd be cool in a red/black marble but I don't think they're doing any non-solid color pressings.
 | bgillesp 20 Straight Bangs? Cant seems to find any evidence of a band with that name existing. Can you help me out? Also, what do you estimate the chances of Strapping stuff getting a pressing in these sets? I'm guessing 10% but won't rule it out yet.
 | bgillesp Wait, I was thinking AE was in this set. Yeah, that's actually my top priority. But I'm sure he will do a rarities box and that might get unplugged or Iceland a spot
 | bgillesp Yeah, those two, Casualties, and the Ziltoids would be my top wishes I guess. Idk what could fit into 4 box sets though, so I guess about everything will be in one or the other. I think the pattern is the new one goes on sale right before the previous gets shipped, so in case you want to be on the lookout for the next special edition.
 | bgillesp Yeah, I got the orange from InsideOut limited to 100 copies. Ordered it the morning of release. I'm not taking chances with any of these, haha. I'm really hoping he does some acoustic theme for III or IV with Unplugged and Iceland. I really want those to get a pressing
 | JS19 Late reply - but at Converge I was front left, sort of the pit edge. My friends left after Crowbar (lol idiots) but had a blast anyway
 | bgillesp More new Dev shirts coming Monday. Also he's opening up the Universal choir for a new song, but idk how to go about being in that
 | bgillesp Yeah, shoutbox is better for this. And yeah, I got the full bundle. I was hoping when I first saw the artwork for the Plovdiv thing that it would be on a poster, but the shirt is the next best thing. Kevin is gonna have all my money this summer

 | 50iL Will do! The Buckleys were incredibly talented, there are few deaths that hurt as much as theirs. :(
 | 50iL Yeah I'll check Suffocation hands down! Also, np man, it's honestly really awesome. And Starsailor is really damn great. Love the experimentalism on the album!
 | 50iL Well, actually, it does involve some fancy s***. It's very atmospheric and not as fast. However, do give it a spin if you're looking for well thought out DM that has an intriguing theme and a heavy execution.
 | 50iL Yeah it's really ****in good! Check it bro!
 | 50iL True, recent DM has been kinda mediocre. Well, except for Starspawn. Great album.
 | 50iL Yeah the riffs are out of this world
 | 50iL Dude just checked Pestilence, ****ing rips! Very trashy and relentless. Might bump to a 4.5, we'll see.
 | Piglet love the first 5 songs so ****in much
 | Gmork89 Hell yeah! Glad to hear it, I'm really impressed with the album.
 | Piglet Nah it's not better than Ocean Machine i don't take my ratings too seriously, but yeah it ****ing rawks
 | BallsDeep Its about a 1-2 hour drive from Houston, nice area really just a few fruitcakes but yeah at least their genuine. I just wish there was a middle ground - thats what I love about the place I currently live, but I dont want to pass up a chance to live in the states for a while because i'm stagnant right now. I got to some great shows last time too; Mastodon, Eyehategod and DOWN in Austin, Tool and Primus in Houston etc and New Orleans was a dope place to party - naked birds, street drinking etc ;)
 | BallsDeep Yeah i see where you're coming from, its a bit of a double edged sword - alot of people from the south i found were welcoming, hospitable (southern hospitality as they call it) and friendly but god some of them were simple and held the polar opposite views on almost every topic. For instance 90% of people i met supported trump (and hate obama), many believed owning automatic weapons is reasonable and get this - our street forms a hunting party and goes hunting for big foot on weekends. 100% srs
 | BallsDeep Ah well good to hear you had a good time,my family have been living there for 2 years while i stayed in Australia because I didn't want to leave my Job/Uni/gf, now only one of those things remains (uni) so i might look at moving there to work for a while. Unfortunately they've moved to the deep south where there are lots of naive, brainwashed folks who probably still think the earth is flat, but thats a bit of a generalization. But i digress, i had no idea that leaked, ill check it out thanks
 | BallsDeep All good my brother, how was portugal anyway? (unless ive got you confused with someone else) Ill give Blind another spin, and all their other stuff and rate them accordingly when i get around to it. As for you check out Misery signals' Controller its sort of a far cry from his material but devin helped produce them and they share some similarities in the guitar department
 | BallsDeep I haven't listened to them in a while i just remember not enjoying them as much as with crowbar, pantera, DOWN etc. Ill listen to their stuff again tonight and I might bump up that rating and rate some of the others. Some of my ratings are from memory so they're a bit dodgy and i think they're all skewed to highly I mean a 3.5 is 'great' but isnt really interpreted as meaning great on this site, especially compared to all the 4's and 4.5's ive given out.
 | ZippaThaRippa You mean my profile picture which is the only thing Russian at all?
 | Relinquished not as serious as dying or calamity but you still initiated it, that's all I'm really saying cuz this isn't serious too. EITHER way dude u have a good day.
 | Relinquished yet u went ahead to cuss me out after taking what I said about your favourite artist
 | Relinquished I really dig City but the thing is... you take it all seriously
 | Relinquished I wasn't even allowed to 1 to purposely spite your soft shell, so there's that
 | theNateman I don't think it's a matter of surrounding yourself with like minded peers, but more of surrounding yourself with people who support you for what you believe and love you for you. It's all about their personal philosophy I think, rather than the god you believe in, when it comes to finding good friends.
 | Relinquished not really, there's lots of 4-letter cuss words in many languages. just be upfront bout it boi.
 | theNateman thanks for that:) it's difficult to be religious nowadays, and it's nice to hear some upliftment from a fellow opiate haha(cuz religion is an opiate for the masses). I was just hoping to see if other people had struggled with their faith and hoping to hear how they dealt with it. Having anxiety and depression while religious really sucks.
 | AngryLittleAlchemist But SpaceBoy and Disarm are REALLY GREAT ballads imo. The cheesy tracks are stuff like Mayonaise, Rocket, Sweet Sweet, and Soma. And honestly dude Space boy is like the best song on the record, Disarm being 2nd. And don't forget how rad Quiet is! The religious lyricism is amazing.
 | AngryLittleAlchemist Also I understand that Today is kind of a stupid pop song but I think it works well. I think the worst songs are the slow ballads with the REALLY cheesy lyrics, those are the ones that are just blegh so much cheesier than today tbh.
 | AngryLittleAlchemist I'll check for sure! but you only 4.0'd gretchen. What's your favorite kings x?
 | AngryLittleAlchemist I had it at a 4.5 because I was testing the waters with my likes and dislikes of it. Like....I thought at first "oh i just need to get into it". Nope, it's legit overrated. But it has a lot of AMAZING songs. In fact like 7-8. But still, there's a lot of meh ones.
 | AngryLittleAlchemist I have not listened to King X's albums. And Siamese Dream is overrated anyways. Ya it takes me too long anyways. Siamese is a nice 4.0, has some amazing songs and some overrated ones like Mayonaise.
 | AngryLittleAlchemist By the way dude, listen to Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream if you haven't yet! Really amazing
 | AngryLittleAlchemist What? Dude, we hella tight. We the young teens in a community of old dickbags. I am not offended by you at all lmao. Besides the awkward thing didn't make me the list, just the old coocks that decided to spoil the fun near the end. And eh....I am honestly glad you don't know lol.
 | AngryLittleAlchemist Lol thanks, but I'm really not hurt at all man haha. Why are you telling me this? Cause of the thing from like 3 weeks ago?
 | AngryLittleAlchemist Lol why wouldn't I be alright? I'm fine! I just get a bit annoyed by Futures and Sach, even if they're cool I absolutely hate the percentage of this site that would rather get their panties in a knot over a stupid list and laugh at you rather than with you. Very annoying, and honestly I mostlyd it in case someone I know somehow saw it XD. But about 80% of the thread was cool for the most part.
 | AngryLittleAlchemist Actually i think Ars might be like 20 lmao im wrong. Na Ars is immature af. Ya i get wat u mean This site is too uptight and PC until it comes to potty humor and calling each other retards. I know what you mean cause u gotd fir saying gay on my troy review
 | AngryLittleAlchemist Im the youngest here, but i think youre older than ars and TVC15 dude. Ya, it feels awkward. But hey, we bros :D. I feel like im an outcast haha
 | manosg For sure. You just feel that Devin's music needs dedication and repeated listens in order to fully appreciate.
 | manosg Hey Ben! Not yet dude but it's definitely on the upper echelon of my list of albums to check. I've been jamming daily a few albums that I'm writing reviews for and then it's Ocean Machine time. Been seriously binging on the live version of Bend It Like Bender! One of the most fun vids.
 | InbredJed hey bro.Andy Kaufmann is an avant garde comic. Its not easy to convey his sense of humour, but watching the film Man on the Moon with Jim Carey will at least give you a taste and perhaps show you what inspires some of these rad musicians.
