    February 1 01:42 AM
  • Jots most of their stuff is on bandcamp so should be easy to track down. or soulseek, w/e
    December 8 06:38 PM
  • Jots you're into noise pop eh. Dear Eloise is a dece group from China, and they have a new one on the 22nd. might be your ish. sort of a laid back, garage-y type of vibe with soft female vox
    December 8 06:25 PM
  • sixdegrees thanks!
    December 1 01:34 AM
  • sixdegrees its great everyone bitching about MUHH SHOEGAZE needs to catch up!
    November 12 02:47 AM
  • sixdegrees new kinoko teikoku!!!!
    November 12 02:24 AM
  • sixdegrees its alright if you're really into the other girls (or the shaft visuals), since they all get their own arc, but I found most of the characters pretty gimmicky tbh. nisemonogatari was ridiculous at times but I think its still worth a shot if you liked the first season.
    October 30 12:40 AM
  • sixdegrees thats all the encouragement I need not to bother with heavy object. as for monogatari, it got so ****ing boring after they had basically written senjougahara and araragi's relationship as far as it would go by the 2nd season.
    October 30 12:22 AM
  • sixdegrees yeah dude **** LN anime, they're all just harem bulls*** or monogatari series #650876087. and looks like madhouse is doing an otome adaptation lol
    October 30 12:03 AM
  • sixdegrees oh damn definitely gonna tune in for ajin and gate s2 as well
    October 29 11:44 PM
  • sixdegrees I need to look at the chart for winter though
    October 29 11:40 PM
  • sixdegrees i'm hyped for that prime waifu material I don't even care if the rest of dagashi sucks lmao
    October 29 11:39 PM
  • sixdegrees that's the thing tho I don't like any of the characters so them just talking is painful for me; but i'm not gonna drop it or anything. and tbh I'm just waiting for winter 2016, which means Dagashi Kashi, which means Shidare Hotaru tbh
    October 29 06:58 PM
  • sixdegrees Subete has been a huge letdown for me so far but you're right, summer was just the worst. I'll probably be picking up Concrete Revolutio and noragami s2 if I can bring myself to give a s*** lol
    October 29 05:26 PM
  • sixdegrees so...how disappointing and s***ty is the fall anime lineup rn
    October 29 06:46 AM
  • YakNips yeah i guess not but don't worry i'm on my way
    September 1 10:40 PM
  • Snake. I Could Do Whatever over FYEB? wut

    September 1 03:10 AM
  • YakNips is it tough in canadialand?
    August 31 10:41 PM
  • YakNips dude beach music and weed i'm tellin you
    August 31 08:25 AM
  • hal1ax oh toronto? nice. ya i was surprised by their lack of popularity. i could barely find it on soulseek. it's seriously so pretty. like if liz harris from grouper took a bunch of acid and recorded an album at the bottom of a well
    August 16 01:18 AM
  • hal1ax just wanted to say thanks for that Anamai rec you gave me for my lo fi/folk list the other day. i absolutely love it.
    August 15 11:50 PM
  • sixdegrees its been like 4 months I think ive made my peace with that site lmao
    July 18 11:08 PM
  • YakNips idk i mean i like the LP before that and a few of their 7"s better but i enjoy pretty much everything they've put out as a band so maybe they just differ from person to person. it definitely took them a while to fully grow on me tho
    July 12 03:27 AM
  • YakNips cause the music is a great mix of melodic post-punkish atmospheres and visceral post-hardcore and just in general gives off this spacious punk vibe, the vocals/lyrics are unique and powerful and the songwriting is varied and continously growing on me
    July 12 01:11 AM
  • sixdegrees I cant be super into music and anime at the same time either, it just doesnt work that way I guess
    July 11 09:02 PM
  • sixdegrees man ive been slacking, the last show i was able to blow though in a few days was Kaiji. my current pace is kind of pathetic considering I have nothing else to do lol
    July 11 08:54 PM
  • sixdegrees ill also probably get around to NNB repeat
    July 11 08:43 PM
  • sixdegrees kekkai sensen is easily the best show from last season (also started kyousogiga, prob gonna rewatch at some point). Gakkou Gurashi is gonna be AOTS easily, Gangsta seems pretty tryhard edgy but could get better, don't waste ur time with any of the other bulls*** that's airing.
    July 11 08:42 PM
  • YakNips what the **** is that sdf rating
    July 11 08:34 PM
  • sixdegrees ayy, watching anything from the summer anime lineup?
    July 11 08:31 PM
  • YakNips yea i just cant write hip hop lyrics im happy with. probably cause i dont listen to the genre enough lol. just havent been in the mood for it i guess. but i really hope you dig it despite the production and my vocals being kinda spotty. your opinion would mean a lot.
    June 5 03:02 AM
  • YakNips yea i definitely remember, sorry i never ended up rapping over underwater i just realized i suck at rapping lol. but i will let you know for sure. i also put out that single soul album this year and its been recieved warmly but my feelings on it are a little mixed. its just sad indie rock ish.
    June 5 02:47 AM
  • YakNips its all good ive been busy af too with school and work but i get out of school soon so hopefully that will change. that is so exciting tho!!!! i cant wait to hear what youre working on. ive been working on a bm album myself and its so time consuming so i definitely know the struggle. and yes it is!!! good eye
    June 5 02:36 AM
  • YakNips i miss u tho
    June 5 01:56 AM
  • bach nah you dig whirr that makes you not a pussy
    April 25 03:58 PM
  • bach you're a cool guy, pal!
    April 25 05:47 AM

    March 9 01:30 AM
  • YakNips nah man i was just wanting to see some of ur writing, thats cool tho. also who is the girl in ur profile pic??? ive been wondering for a while
    March 9 01:17 AM
  • YakNips do u still plan on reviewing everything else matters?? it could certainly use one
    March 9 01:03 AM
  • YakNips yeah definitely. i'm a bit rusty but i'm gonna get to work on it soon
    February 24 07:27 PM
  • YakNips YES beach life-in-death is easily my favorite. i haven't written a review in forever but i think i'm gonna try to write one for it
    February 24 07:06 PM
  • YakNips twin fantasy is so GOOD i listened twice last night and now i'm listening again
    February 24 06:25 PM

    February 15 01:15 AM
  • deathschool Yeah!
    February 15 12:41 AM
  • sixdegrees nothing actually comes to mind right now....its pretty unique. ill take the copout and let you know if I come across anything lmao
    January 31 09:56 PM
  • sixdegrees I don't like the vocals and its boring :^)
    January 31 09:41 PM
  • YakNips oh yea man that thing is gonna reach it's peak in spring take my word
    January 19 10:22 PM
  • YakNips man idk where you live but it's actually pretty sunny and warm today and i was out on a drive blasting it, it was PERFECT
    January 19 10:01 PM
  • YakNips yea it rules hard, love the bass work as well. gonna be spinning it a lot :]
    January 19 06:27 PM
  • YakNips yeah it will be MISSED but it was a sacrifice that i had to make. will jam tonight while reading and report back
    January 19 04:45 AM
  • YakNips ah my love of your taste never ceases. so i was GONNA put together everything else matters and viet cong onto a CD together but its ONE minute too long.... you think it would be too much of a crime if i faded out the outro on marigold a bit early?
    January 19 04:17 AM
  • YakNips well i went and listened to umi and dug hard so i'm downloading it right now from soulseek. very excited to listen :] also loving your brave little abacus rating
    January 19 04:03 AM
  • YakNips does it sound like kinoko teikoku at all? been digging that long goodbye EP a good bit lately
    January 19 03:52 AM
  • YakNips would i dig everything else matters bcuz i am very intersted right now
    January 19 03:40 AM
  • sixdegrees looks like the vers side is already getting more development which is a plus
    January 11 05:18 PM
  • sixdegrees I know a lot of people hate him, but he and Rayet were basically the only ones who got any meaningful character arcs. it'll be interesting to see if slaine's role as a main antagonist will make things less black-and-white in terms of morality.
    January 11 05:13 PM
  • sixdegrees agreed, asselyum is gonna have a crucial role later on; i'm gonna keep watching for muh slaine tbh. at least I have death parade and the second cour of Parasyte to look forward to.
    January 11 04:56 PM
  • sixdegrees its hilarious. I mean, I sort of expected inaho and asseylum to be alive, but I'm put out that they'd "kill off" half the cast for a cheap cliffhanger and then make it COMPLETELY POINTLESS as soon as s2 started. Guess we discount any character development from anyone on the terran side since they can rely on Inaho and his new aldnoah AIDS superpowers.
    January 11 04:26 PM
  • sixdegrees pretty much every asspull you can imagine, I won't spoil anything tho!!
    January 11 10:08 AM
  • sixdegrees hey so the new episode of aldnoah zero is hilariously bad, check it out if you want some laughs
    January 11 02:49 AM
  • Gwyn. yea thanks and you as well, iunno i just feel being in college isnt really gonna get me anything i want, just feel i need to look for my thing elsewhere, plus i got a job recently and work AND college sounds like too much stress for me to wanna deal with. You watched ping pong the animation? same director and general narrative type, animation is weird as **** but it's pretty dope.
    January 3 04:03 AM
  • Gwyn. yea feel you on that, just been kinda indecisive on where my whole university path is going, probably gonna have to drop out cuz i dont thin im going anywhere. marathoned thru the whole thing when i discovered it, love the surreal atmosphere and art style.
    January 1 10:49 PM
  • Gwyn. Had your av at some point early last year, you watching the tatami galaxy? so good
    January 1 05:26 PM
  • YakNips thank u baby
    December 9 03:46 AM
  • Jots yeah it's a pretty dope album, still jamming it often
    December 6 06:23 PM
  • Jots yo man, I remember you posting in the Whirr - Sway thread about how it didn't get enough attention(?) anyway, seeing as it's a slow month, they might be willing to feature the album if you request it. just a thought
    December 6 05:26 PM
  • sixdegrees thanks ;-;
    December 1 12:45 AM
  • YakNips lets just hug it out man
    November 22 03:50 AM
  • YakNips LOL i don't admire how much emo i've listened to i'm an emotional wreck with no knowledge of other genres. but that's alright. and yeah i like a lot of pages with that kind of aesthetic, some quality stuff floating around
    November 22 03:41 AM
  • YakNips yeah i think you'd enjoy them because your taste is amazing and they're amazing so it works out pretty well :]] and it's just a pic i got from this FB page https://www.facebook.com/ironicdepression
    November 22 03:31 AM
  • YakNips yo yo have u ever listened to anomie?
    November 22 03:26 AM
  • YakNips yeah dude, i'm definitely interested to see what you think of my beats/verses, i'll shout you when it's done :]
    October 14 01:22 AM
  • YakNips it's really silly but idc it's been really fun to make and i'm excited to see what people think about it. pretty proud of the beats too, though they're pretty simple
    October 14 01:15 AM
  • YakNips oh yeah it works now!! thanks. i'm finishing up that collab hip-hop thing with lakes which should be out before halloween, and then i'll write/record my verse on Underwater and send it to you so you can do yours :]]]
    October 14 01:10 AM
  • YakNips nah dude they're not up for download, it's easy to fix tho if you just wanna do that
    October 14 01:02 AM
  • YakNips awesome dude, could you email me the mp3s of the beats perhaps??
    October 14 12:55 AM
  • YakNips yeah i'd definitely want us to both rap on one of those, which one do you like better?? we should both be on that one
    October 14 12:49 AM
  • YakNips broooooooooooooooooooooo that's cloud af, i love it. tbh i love that style, and i thought they were both dank but i think i prefer underwater.. but you would be fine with me using them both?? because i think they're super sweet
    October 14 12:45 AM
  • Jots thx man! i'll apply for sure, so fingers crossed. have you heard the new hammock album?
    September 26 01:55 AM
  • Jots Yeah dude it's still a great release IMO, I'll be jamming it a lot. And yeah Heavy is a dope track
    September 26 01:40 AM
  • YakNips agh thank you!!! that is so cool, i've had something i wanna sample but i had no idea how to do it lmao, you are my savior rn
    September 23 02:16 AM
  • YakNips ahhhh ok thanks, i'll look into that cause yeah i thought the drums with FL studio usually sound fine (with some editing) cause i used those for the beat but i've noticed the synths usually don't sound that great. and i know nothing about sampling lol
    September 23 02:02 AM
  • YakNips sweet bro!! i'm not that familiar with FL studio synths, is there any particular "patch" (is that what it's called??) that you would recommend?
    September 23 01:53 AM
  • YakNips ok bae what do you think of this??? gimme constructive criticism https://soundcloud.com/yaksynapse/too-turnt
    September 23 01:33 AM
  • YakNips lol you are sooooooo low-key but that's okay it makes you even more of a treasure ;]]
    September 23 12:53 AM
  • YakNips lmao it's ok as long as you accept it :]]] and yess definitely brahther i am never focused on improving my state of life so i am always open to make the musics. but yes you should do one of those!! you are better than most users but no one knows you because you don't make yourself known!! (P.S. can i maybe have the facebook pls ily)
    September 23 12:43 AM
  • YakNips lol that makes more sense, that's awesome tho if he knows those he's gotta have amazing taste :DD and yeah i feel u brahther, the stuff i've heard from them is pretty damn great. lol i looked in ur box and found oooold shouts from me about my ooooold bad music was like damn i've loved you for longer than i remembered... yes tho you are my bb ok??
    September 23 12:23 AM
  • YakNips woah ur friend rec'd you the usurp synapse / hassan split????? i wish i had a friend that knew about that goddamn. and yesssss i will do it even though they are such dicks (although sometimes they are funny)
    September 23 12:14 AM
  • YakNips that's okay and that's amazing bae!!! tbh i'm sure it's much better than mine bcuz you know way more hip hop than me lol. but im also glad u like the usurp snyapse/hassan i sabbah split and solitude!!!!! i will check new whirr for you and i meant to check it anyway but i forgot
    September 23 12:06 AM
  • YakNips i finally started working on beats and they are dankkkk yes and u are beautiful
    September 22 11:53 PM
  • sixdegrees yeah, I doubt he would go over to Earth's side at this point after killing the hero of the entire Terran war effort, but who knows.
    September 22 02:56 AM
  • sixdegrees need to rewatch, but it looked like Inaho got shot clean through the head and they mentioned that they never found Seylum's body, but nothing about Inaho (not counting him out until s2 though). My personal theory is that Slaine will join the Vers side for good and the princess will eventually have to shoot him. Earth is gonna be ****ed though without Inaho unless they pull another crazy Aldnoah weapon out of their asses
    September 22 02:41 AM
  • sixdegrees honestly gonna give the show massive props if she actually stays dead just cuz its such a ballsy move...although judging by that scene at the end of the OP, I doubt it. Slaine was and still is my favorite character, but its hard to see him saving Sazaabaum (w/e) and getting Seylum killed as anything but ridiculously stupid. I really have no idea what direction the damn show is gonna take at this point.
    September 22 02:22 AM
  • sixdegrees btw..thoughts on the aldnoah.zero finale? the ending really ****ed me up
    September 22 02:12 AM
  • sixdegrees idk why im back but the album is kind of disappointment except for "Lines", maybe it will grow on me
    September 21 03:24 AM
  • sixdegrees is that 5 for the new Whirr legit?
    September 21 03:04 AM
  • silentstar http://www.ticketfly.com/event/628709-whirr-toronto/
    September 14 01:59 AM
  • silentstar "thursday is cool for me." sweet! there seem to be a few ice cream/waffle/crepe places around eaton centre, so we could just meet at one of them. i'll leave you my number here, so just text me whenever you can (and don't forget to remove the message lol) (just in case internet stalkers exist)
    September 8 08:49 PM
  • silentstar "he has some stuff that i really enjoy like have a nice life, snowing and danny brown." which is a pretty unique combination! i'm surprised/amazed at how you (and my friend) jump around with all those genres - i've been trying to "broaden my horizons", as my one friend so put it when she saw Drake in my scrobbles, but i still listen to a lot of candy aka accessible music, which is fine with me haha
    September 8 08:48 PM
  • silentstar "so no one really gets to see the popular hip hop/pop i like but rather the stuff that no one really knows about that i adore." haha i'm starting to wish i had less space just for that reason :p but yeah, it's a really cool way to see how much music the other person has explored and it gives way to pretty cool conversations, esp. if the other person digs music a lot
    September 8 08:45 PM
  • silentstar " in terms of meeting up, i end at 12 on thursdays and fridays so we can meet on those days at whatever time you want and at any location." oh cool! do you want to do thursday then? i end at 3 though, so hopefully you have some stuff to do for 3 hours. where's your campus located? my classes are close to King's College Circle, which is by the Queen's Park subway station.
    September 8 03:01 AM
  • silentstar "they'll be playing games like dota and league of legends which isnt for me." people at my work are obsessed with league haha. yeah, i've never been too big on multiplayer - smash bros is really fun though! i played it for the first time a few months back and it was so much fun. i especially loved seeing fire emblem characters in there
    September 8 02:59 AM
  • silentstar "any idea what kind of music that friend listens to?" his last.fm is here: http://www.last.fm/user/lukechristy but that's not too indicative since he only scrobbles sometimes. i remember him showing me King Krule and i was like "this is cool but not something i'd keep on my phone". oh and i can't believe i haven't added you on last.fm yet! i sent you a request. also, "Your musical compatibility with BasslineTrip is Very High" sweet
    September 8 02:55 AM
  • silentstar "i dont want to scare them off by telling people i like death and black metal or have to explain what shoegaze is or what "true" emo/screamo is" #realstruggles. usually i just show them my music app and say "oh do you know/listen to any of these bands?" and that usually gets a mixed response - i have some really obvious ones like drake, childish gambino, frank ocean, the weeknd etc and those tend to overshadow everything else, so then i'm left sad : ((
    September 8 02:50 AM
  • silentstar "most of my friends got into some sciences or in engineering." how interesting! you must be the odd one out then! because like, most of my friends are in stem, and there's only one friend who comes to mind who is doing something unrelated to the rest of us (he's going into law i believe)
    September 8 02:46 AM
  • silentstar oh btw i was wondering if you'd want to meet up sometime for lunch/coffee - i have monday/thursday/friday afternoons free (after 3 - 4 o'clock), so hopefully one of those days works for you
    September 7 09:43 PM
  • silentstar you're gonna be all about that shounen life now - rip good taste
    September 7 09:35 PM
  • silentstar ryerflix sounds nice! do you know what type of movies they'll show? i mainly play single player games, so i doubt i'd ever fit in a competitive club haha. and yeah hopefully the musicians club will have people with good taste! my friends in hs who took music listened to pretty ordinary stuff, except for one who digs what i show him (primarily rnb/hip hop)
    September 7 09:32 PM
  • silentstar "The friend i made was into 80s post punk which im not really into but maybe i will for her haha." wow wicked - one of my friends listens to some pretty exclusive stuff that i tried listening to but couldn't get into it. but yeah, 80s post punk sounds pretty cool - you should ask her to make you a mix or something
    September 7 09:25 PM
  • silentstar "i came to uni with five other friends so it isnt so lonely there" lucky!! all of my closest friends went to other universities (mcmaster, waterloo, york), so we really only see each other during holidays :( what are your friends studying btw? and about "im still hoping to meet people with similar music tastes as mine since i have no one to talk to about music irl" i know that feel: it's like impossible to know what people listen to haha, so it just boils down to asking here and there
    September 7 09:23 PM
  • silentstar "apparently i can get caught for doing that so chose not to do that though i find that hard to believe but i'd rather not risk it." haha omg that's like the whole "would you download a car?" thing. but yeah, i got them off the net. it's pretty funny, there's actually a student-run website with all of the textbooks (http://uofteng.com/). the catch is that you need a utoronto email address to access them though. pretty sneaky and exclusive
    September 7 09:20 PM
  • silentstar "luckily im with my friend/neighbour for 8am classes so im not alone in suffering haha" that's so sweet, lucky you! there was only one person from my hs who came into my program but they're in a different discipline, so we have no mutual classes haha
    September 7 09:17 PM
  • silentstar and dude, don't worry about it at all. i'm plenty interested in your life so it's all good
    September 7 04:27 AM
  • silentstar oops my message got cut off - i said sth about how ping pong is unconventional and ambitious with its style and that it's very reminiscent of kaiba/tatami galaxy/kemonozume, which are all excellent anime. but yeah i'll let you know how the whole package is once i'm done with it
    September 7 04:26 AM
  • silentstar bad, bad friends
    September 7 04:24 AM
  • silentstar what clubs have you looked into/joined? oh, an anime club!? interesting. my school has one as well but i am way too apprehensive about it (but more specifically the people and their taste). let me know how it goes! if things go well, i might consider checking my school's club out haha
    September 7 04:21 AM
  • silentstar i'm really glad that you have a positive outlook on university! it can be a really wonderful place at times, especially when you learn to appreciate the little, lesser things. and yeah, clubs are great as well - i'm involved with a positive psychology/mental well-being club called engineering happiness and it's quite cool: we hold things like talks and workshops and we're planning to build this ball pit (like the one in the soulpancake youtube video), so quite exciting stuff!
    September 7 04:20 AM
  • silentstar "some people have been pretty friendly while some act like they have no interest in making friends which is fine i guess." same lol. but yeah, i found that making friends in university is a bit more of a struggle than in hs simply because the environment's completely different (i feel like hs nurtured a more supportive/friendly environment). i've only made a few friends that i hung out with outside of school but even then, none of them are as close to me as my hs friends (yet)
    September 7 04:16 AM
  • silentstar and yeah i remember that as well! like, people would always say that professors don't care about you and all but i had some amazing professors in first year who were really concerned about the students and very passionate about the subject. it's good to hear that you got some good professors - they can definitely make/break courses
    September 7 04:14 AM
  • silentstar oh man 8 am classes! that sounds bad haha. i know what you mean though - i have to wake up around 6:15 in the morning if i want to get a ride with my brother to the subway (and therefore save time/money from busing), and yeah, it's such a pain but oh well. and good on you for buying textbooks! i just get the pdfs and be happy with them
    September 7 04:12 AM
  • silentstar "i was so confused with the whole blank avatar thing" #justsputnikthings
    September 7 04:09 AM
  • silentstar (also not sure what just happened there but it's me with the question mark avatar lol)
    September 7 02:48 AM
  • as for me, life's been pretty good - i ended summer work a week ago and i started university yesterday: from the one day of classes, it seems quite good. i was really lucky with professors and the courses seem interesting, so i'm quite curious as to how it'll all turn out
    September 7 02:45 AM
  • free time is the best~ oh man it's so great that you're watching ghost hound/mushishi - definitely among my favourites. i've actually had a bit of a fallout with anime over the second part of my summer, since i was working a lot and i just wasn't feeling it anymore. i did, however, start ping pong: the animation a few days ago, and it's actually pretty damn good - like, it's quite cliche in some ways but the animation/music/vibe is

  • hey!! good to hear from you again! i actually wanted to message you and ask you about uni but thought i'd give it some time to sink in haha. how is it, by the way? are you finding the transition smooth enough? i remember that university seemed somewhat familiar but it was a big change from high school. also, what are your courses/professors/classmates like?
    September 7 02:41 AM
  • Keyblade No prob man. Yeah it's like Bjork in a dreamy post-rock band, so good
    August 31 10:36 AM

  • YakNips ah alright thanks dude, also if u wanna try to make a beat (u don't have to like at all) that would be sweet af
    August 15 06:53 PM
  • YakNips yea those are 2 things ive been meaning to jam for a long time, thing is i was using garageband up until recently i got FL Studio and EZDrummer and im still figuring that out so as far as making like professional sounding beats im not sure if i could do that, but i'll def try to make one as good as possible for u
    August 15 06:33 PM
  • YakNips yeah i'm finally gonna try to make this mixtape but if i'm gonna get other people on it i want it to be actually high quality lol. (while still being not serious at all lyrically) but yea for some reason i want somethin more cloud-ish for my song with u but if there's a specific kind of beat u want i could try to do that too
    August 15 06:22 PM
  • YakNips aw damn i didn't know that had been done before :/ hold up i'm gonna try to make another beat
    August 15 06:13 PM
  • YakNips lol true, what do u think of this beat?? (its just an edited version of a Godspeed bit) https://soundcloud.com/yaksynapse/gybe-beat
    August 15 05:39 PM
  • YakNips hey bb would you still be down to drop some rhymes
    August 15 05:24 PM
  • sixdegrees Tokyo Ghoul is also a good gory horror anime, but I've dropped it for now due to the ridiculous censorship
    August 3 02:52 AM
  • sixdegrees Akame ga kill, Aldnoah Zero, and Zankyou No Terror are my top 3, maybe see if any of those sound interesting...also, Barakamon is supposed to be a really good slice of life show but I haven't picked it up.
    August 3 02:51 AM
  • sixdegrees best season in a long time, at least as far as the dark and edgy stuff goes
    August 3 02:40 AM

    July 31 05:18 PM
  • silentstar ooh a tales' game! my brother bought vesperia a while back but i'm a bit skeptical of the style (seems too "anime" haha). how is symphonia? it got pretty good reviews according to metacritic
    July 15 03:16 AM
  • silentstar I haven't watched many anime movies recently but I know that Summer Wars Wolf Children is by the guy who did 'The Girl Who Leapt ...', so you might be interested in those two. and I'm glad you liked Danganronpa! I had a blast with that game as well. are you playing anything right now? I started 'the world ends with you' a few days back but it's kinda on hold now because work but I should probably revisit it soon. I think there are 21 days in the game? I just finished day 9, so about halfway rn
    July 15 02:16 AM
  • silentstar "also i finally got around to watching the girl who leapt through time and i really enjoyed it and it really resonated with me" join the #sadboys crew
    July 15 02:11 AM
  • silentstar haha wow nice! sounds like something out of a game soundtrack~ enjoyed it enough to replay it. sorry I don't have actual criticism! I don't listen to enough ambient/electronic/music to be a fair judge :p
    July 15 02:10 AM
  • sixdegrees yo, new Kyary leaked
    July 4 12:48 AM
  • discovolante I usually put them in Google Translator, and copy the romaji as the title.
    June 26 03:03 PM
  • silentstar oh you've played it? awesome. the sequel is out for the Vita/3DS but I haven't gotten around to getting it yet. have you checked out the sequel already? also, have you heard of Ghost Trick? that's a really good visual novel/puzzle game for the DS and I played it around the same time I played 999, so I tend to associate the two, haha
    June 4 03:36 AM
  • silentstar also, hope you don't mind me throwing all these recs, haha. I really don't know what to do with them sometimes :p
    June 4 01:56 AM
  • silentstar nice. let me know if goes well! if you end up liking Dangan Ronpa, you will definitely like 999. it's a DS game that can be easily emulated (game is about 9 people stuck on a ship with 9 doors which will sink in 9 hours) and is probably one of my top games.
    June 4 01:55 AM
  • silentstar it's actually pretty simple - there are a good number of 5 minute videos on youtube that show you what to do step-by-step. like, here's a pretty good one (which I think was the one I used): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz1LwYvdiTM || the ISO for the danganronpa (with the english patch pre-installed) can be found thepiratebay as well, so that saves the trouble of patching it yourself.
    June 4 12:39 AM
  • silentstar oh forgot to mention earlier but I saw you have dangan ronpa on ptw - the anime is actually based on a game for the psp and a fan-translation patch was released a few months back (http://danganronpa.wordpress.com/). it's a pretty fun visual novel and is apparently much better than the anime from what I've heard, so take that as you will
    June 3 11:51 PM
  • silentstar and it seems that you've already reached episode 10 for SSY - how have you been liking it so far?
    June 3 06:40 PM
  • silentstar oh hey I remember you asked me earlier for some horror anime and I just finished a really good one which should be able to pass off as a mysterious/eerie/creepy anime. it's called Ghost Hound (http://myanimelist.net/anime/2596/Shinreigari:_Ghost_Hound) and it reminded me a lot of Shinsekai Yori, in terms of atmosphere/feel mostly
    June 3 06:40 PM
  • silentstar I was actually really interested in The Jezabels' show as well but that's 19 too, ugh. just another month ...
    June 1 01:37 AM
  • silentstar i'm still 18, haha, one month shy (July 6th)
    June 1 12:59 AM
  • silentstar saw you commenting on the Kishi Bashi thread - he's actually coming down to Toronto in two days time (http://exclaim.ca/Upcoming/ConcertListings/kishi_bashi-toronto-2014-06-02). it's 19 though but figured I'd give you a heads up
    June 1 12:21 AM
  • silentstar I didn't quite get X's story until I read this (http://ca.ign.com/faqs/2003/final-fantasy-x-story-and-plot-faq-432338). it was definitely very confusing but I'm glad they took a more ambitious route. and you only used two paradigms? wow, that's surprising. I found myself having to make new ones all the time but that may be because I was severely underleveled for the most part. also, I think most of the difficulty came from how fast you finished the battle, since yeah, it was quite easy otherwise
    May 30 02:16 AM
  • silentstar seems like VI is one of the more favoured ones, haha. I liked X best because of the story and I think XIII had my favourite battle system. and it's a pity you didn't finish IX - I'm really enjoying it (although a lot of the gameplay mechanics feel outdated), so I hope I don't end up in a position where I don't finish it! but I see where you're coming from - I had a few hours left to play on Chrono Cross but just couldn't get around to finishing it, despite always wanting to. oh well
    May 30 01:40 AM
  • silentstar yeah, I remember him being pretty difficult. and awesome, you'll have access to all three versions then, haha. have you played any Final Fantasy title? I've spent last summer and this summer on a FF binge and have so far finished VI, VII, VIII, X, XII and XIII and am playing IX atm
    May 30 12:53 AM
  • silentstar are you playing P4 right now or is it on hold at the moment? also, did you ever try out P3 for the psp? I played that one last year (as the girl MC) and it was quite nice, especially since I played P3 like 3-4 years back. Persona games are so much fun, really really hyped for P5
    May 29 11:37 PM
  • silentstar ah, interesting. I played P3 first as well but actually preferred P4 (which is incidentally my all-time favourite game). I think a lot of it came from the fact that I was playing the game at a very specific point in my life and it meant a lot back then, so yeah, I have a lot of nostalgia attached to the game, haha
    May 29 11:36 PM
  • silentstar haha, thanks! took me ages to find a P4 avatar that I could use, since the site compresses the s*** out of images. do you know P4 from the game or the anime?
    May 29 10:52 PM
  • Rhyme rip
    April 26 01:18 PM
  • silentstar sweet stuff. keep med on anything you have coming up, will be glad to check it out
    April 18 02:51 AM
  • silentstar is this the first song you've made/edited?
    April 18 02:15 AM
  • silentstar ohhh, I see! I thought you made the track from scratch, haha. still doesn't detract from your composition of it - that was some wicked take on it. and I know of Sky Fereira but I don't know of 80's pop since I'm only 18 years old but I'm listening to the original song right now (Everything Is Embarrassing) and it's sweet. compliments my indie-pop binge really well too
    April 18 02:14 AM
  • silentstar yeah, you'll definitely have a good time if you enjoy the band and have a friend who enjoys it as well. keep your eye out on this site for future concerts (http://concertsto.com/).
    April 14 01:59 AM
  • silentstar and then you'll get to go to a lot of shows! it's amazing how many bands pass through toronto. I was supposed to go to a la dispute/pianos become the teeth show with my friend but the tickets sold out. I did get to go to an architects/pth show last year though, which was quite fun. I also got to see Lydia (I went alone to this one though) earlier this year and that was an amazing show, since they played their album Illuminate in full. there is a much more varied/diverse community present at uni
    April 14 01:35 AM
  • silentstar and it'll be a really interesting experience meeting new people! I met one of my close friends through a conversation on school wifi, another one through him asking me if I can lend him my calculator (I said no) and another because he was wearing a la dispute shirt. joining clubs/going to school activities definitely helped as well
    April 14 01:10 AM
  • silentstar haha yeah, u of t does give that sort of impression but it's good that you've made a choice you're happy with. I had quite a few of my good friends go to ryerson and although I haven't spoken to them much (barely, actually) since high school, they were really happy the one time I met them. I thought it'd be easy if everyone went their separate ways but it was actually quite difficult dealing with all my friends going to different universities (ties in with me getting nostalgic really easily)
    April 14 12:45 AM
  • silentstar also, have you decided where you're going next year for post-secondary?
    April 14 12:32 AM
  • silentstar haha, maybe it was for the best! and cheers. let me know what you think of them when you're done watching them
    April 14 12:31 AM
  • silentstar hmm, how about Shinsekai Yori? the show has a lot of bright animation but it's really dark underneath, especially as you come to learn more about the world and the society. another one that comes to mind is Higurashi, which is a 52 episode anime - I wasn't a big fan of it, since the characters were horrible, there was too much friendship-is-power theme going on, and the delivery of the show was weak, although there were some really good ideas. have to admit that it can get extremely eerie
    April 14 12:10 AM
  • silentstar also, in regards to psychological/horror, what do you mean? like, do you want a scary anime or just an anime that is dark in nature? I haven't watched many horror anime, assuming you're referring to horror as being something like The Shining
    April 13 11:40 PM
  • silentstar wow, awesome, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! if you want to watch something similar in terms of themes, check out the movie The Girl Who Leaped Through Time (I tend to associate the two since I watched them around the same time and they both evoked some sort of nostalgia).
    April 13 11:38 PM
  • silentstar sweet, awesome. just give me a heads up when you want to watch some different/new anime and I could rec you a few based on your likes/dislikes. alternatively, you could just browse through my list and look at the 10s and 9s, haha
    April 4 02:51 AM
  • silentstar hah, I should have probably confirmed that on your mal - I never seem to hold onto Japanese titles too well. you should watch 5 cm/s then - it's made by the same guy. it's probably my favourite (I think?) animated movie: super gorgeous and beautiful as well and the plot is very well balanced between content and empty space.
    April 4 02:36 AM
  • silentstar added you on myanimelist (aadil67)! you should rate stuff so we can compare compatibility. ps: you should watch the movie Garden of Words - Kashiwa Daisuke did the soundtrack. it's a really short movie as well (~45 min)
    April 4 02:19 AM
  • Keyblade Yesss that's my favorite. Just pure bliss. I could play it over and over again
    March 29 03:46 AM
  • Keyblade Niceee. I knew you'd dig. Which one is that btw,
    March 29 03:21 AM

    March 8 10:00 PM
  • YakNips Did you get the email? If you've done anything to it yet I won't re-send it, but I wanna fix up a couple things and re-send it
    March 8 06:29 PM
  • YakNips Alright dude, I'll send you the beat and an open verse as soon as I finish it up, where do I send it to?
    March 7 10:12 PM
  • YakNips You down to rap about skramz?
    March 7 09:51 PM

    March 4 11:56 PM
