| oisincoleman64 Sorry man, my access to internet has kinda come and gone the last few days, but I really ****ing love what I'm hearing, massive improvement, instrumentally and lyrically you've gotten a lot better at songwriting, the vocals aren't the most professional but they've got character and fit in, also love some of the synths thrown in
| oisincoleman64 I'll give a listen today, check your shout box in a few hours
| oisincoleman64 Sorry I haven't reviewed that album yet, I've been pretty occupied with school and whatnot, hopefully I'll get the chance
| torts np fr, I support good mn music ALWAYS WOOP
| oisincoleman64 Will definitely check it out later, thanks for notifying me!
| torts no problem yo, just do me a favor and keep making it man

| Judio! Oh awesome! I'll definitely check dude.
| Hurricanslash Of course you can. XD I listened a bit more to your album since then, I'm really digging it!^^
| deathschool I think those demos you put up that time were the only thing I listened to. Send me somewhere I can hear your band
| BMDrummer you're welcome buddy, happy holidays my friend :]
| BMDrummer always thought of them as being a hardcore/skramz band with metal riffs, difficult scenario
| pedro70512 Let me take a look...I don't remember anything glaring (though somebody apparently found something they didn't like
| pedro70512 Huh, no kidding. Well like they say, measure twice and cut once. I'm glad you like it. I'm wrapping up recording over the next couple days and I'm excited to get this completed. Xing's set a high bar for user albums this year :P
| pedro70512 New song up from A Visible Chill if you're interested. https://taravanamusic.bandcamp.com/track/higher-fear
| oisincoleman64 Yeah after Christmas seems like a good enough time for me to get my s*** together.
| oisincoleman64 If you're still up to collaborate I could possubly borrow someone's recording equipment and supply the vocals
| oisincoleman64 I checked out your stuff. The lyrics were pretty good, the guitar playing was good enough but I feel like you're putting too much stress when singing. It probably is't your style. Maybe try singing quieter
| JasonCarne You're welcome, I do what I can. I'm making a few more lists over the next few days, also metal related.
| pedro70512 Anytime. I actually love Dragonforce, especially through 2006, way more than I ever should. But that shound enhanshment pedal gets me every time xD
| pedro70512 (if that didn't make a bit of sense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP8glmigsbE)
| pedro70512 AWESOME, I'LL KEEP AN EAR OUT FOR IT! I started playing guitar about two years ago so all I actually know how to play is power chords. I mean, I could teach you a few, here's A...A major 7...that's B-flat something...but honestly I really don't know what I'm talking about and can't play guitar. I'm still trying to learn the solos but for now I just pretend to be drunk all the time.
| pedro70512 Yeah man I do my own art (which is to say I design my covers using public domain art and pictures). It's one of the more fun parts of making an album, actually, because it's all about the concept and portraying the feelings behind the album. As for The Irons, I'm probably going to re-record the whole thing at some point. I'd like to have a guitarist/bassist to work with in person to do it, though. Which means getting out of this tiny-ass boondocks down first, haha.
| pedro70512 And before you fret about me selling out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmZNquYpYY0
| pedro70512 Pfft screw EM. They can't have me :P Thanks! Yeah I'm doing these on my own so I'm making sure it sounds right the first time lol. I've got most of the album recorded, so I'm looking at a release in December or early January. Here's the news article on it. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/news/32454/New-Taravana-Album/
| pedro70512 Haha, take all the time you want. Yeah, that's why I'm being meticulous in recording my new EP and doing it myself this time. Have you heard the two-song teaser? It's in the user music thread.
| pedro70512 And while I'm feeling picky, the material written in the studio was mostly drumming and background parts, so "significant" might be overstating it.
| KrazyKris Fair enough. Can't agree with you though. It wassn't out of insecurity that I've written that, I just thought it was the worst review I've written so far and I really hate that. I'm a perfectionist, so if I say something I did isn't good that doesn't mean too much. More importantly your perception of any work shouldn't be influenced by the opinion of its author. Anyway, don't wanna bug you with this forever, the review just screwed with my perfect approval rating.
| pedro70512 Wow, awesome review! Thanks so much, man. Love the description and that you touched upon the concepts. Also, that you looked at both pros and cons so it's a balanced review. Only gripe is that people are going to expect Nattens Madrigal production haha. Perhaps that actually is a good thing when they're pleasantly surprised.
| ExplosiveOranges It's up there. I really like Rudy and Aziz's avis, along with Curse.'s and Judio's.
| KrazyKris Why neg a review if you haven't read it? If you think it's crap, no problem. But that seems kind of stupid
| pedro70512 Awesome! Thanks man. It looks like there are a couple Slipknot review up already and it's pretty meh. I wouldn't worry about it get drowned out. Post it at your convenience.
| pedro70512 You've got a 95% rating. Numbers don't lie haha. I liked your Carcass and Moonsorrow ones in particular. Might be biased because I like those bands a lot though. :P I know what you mean. I've got 40-something reviews but there are like 6-month gaps sometimes.
| pedro70512 I mean, it's nothing to dwell on but feel free to mention it. I didn't exactly dissect the album since I don't have the master files. I'mma go read some more of your other reviews because background checks are a thing on Sputnik :P
| pedro70512 Anarchist punk certainly ties into your history studies well. That should be a lot of fun. Sure man, Sunday would be most excellent but take all the time you need. i don't know if my remastering/re-releasing it makes you feel better about reviewing last year's album but it's something :P
| pedro70512 That's...still quite a lot of ground to cover. Very cool though. You should totes study the Christian vs Pagan struggles in Scandinavia that precipitated the whole black metal movement :P And I'm not hearing the volume issues as much...the one on youtube fluctuates a little but on soundcloud and bandcamp it's pretty stable. I'll keep listening. Is it worth going back into with a scalpel before you pick up writing, whenever that occurs?
| pedro70512 History, huh? Anything in particular? That's kind of a...big field :P Here, this might make your life easier. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSds73Vw57g
| pedro70512 and that's awesome, man! where are you studying? yeah take all the time you need. I uploaded new art, too, to differentiate it from the original mix.
| pedro70512 New versions are up. Lost some of the panning/space but the levels are better and the ****in' kick drum has some oomph now. Let me know what you think.
| pedro70512 not yet. I'm going to remaster the tracks tonight and see if I can bring some clarity into the mix.
| pedro70512 listening to the album in its original .wav format, it sounds a better than on BC. lm going to upload it again to see if it makes a difference.
| pedro70512 neither have I neither have I neither have I neither have I neither have I neither have I neither have I neither have I
| pedro70512 Comments like that kind of make my day. I'm actually considering redoing The Irons for this new album now.
| pedro70512 That's 400 more words than I expected to get. Take all the time you need. I'll spend the time figuring out how to return the favor.
| pedro70512 this may have more balanced sound quality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9L7KJbMZfY
| pedro70512 haha, you saw that huh? it's whatever. that's the main problem with trying to get the album out there, that it quite literally has no comparables. nobody has done it before so I'm like, "Well it uh...sounds like...progressive rock with post-rock stuff...and power metal drumming...but it's on piano instead of guitar?"
| pedro70512 I could probably just run a high-pass filter on the whole album and get a little more clarity but...I don't know. thank you, that's...one of the more pointed compliments I've gotten, that it deserves better.
| pedro70512 the lyrics are on the bandcamp page too. they're a big part of the album if you feel like getting into that.
| pedro70512 haha close enough! oh man there's nothing better than people singing your lyrics. gives me goosebumps every time. all twice. uhhh as far as production, it turned out acceptably but not great. I only had 52 hours in the studio to record and mix the whole thing so it was definitely a rush job.
| Judio! Yeah, writing reviews take a ton of time to write. I always think I have more time to write them than I actually have haha.
| Judio! Not yet. Not that I haven't been meaning too, but I've been overloaded with work as of late so my free time is more scarce than I previously thought. I will get around to it though, my promise.
| pedro70512 ...what are the chances you could throw that @Pedro comment on my album as a soundoff?
| Judio! I feel you man, I've been rather busy myself lately. Looking forward to when you start reviewing again though!
| Arcade cheers man! I imagine you'll probably be in the next batch of promotions
| Judio! :] Thank you dude! Only a matter of time until you're promoted yourself I figure.
| joomisy manly ya see? gee thanks, ****ing hoorah. yeah i can't wait, and thanks for the sexy advice my man. gonna experiment hard, and yeah my hair is pretty wavy and thick, so yeahh i have a feeling it might be kinda difficult, but nothing is impossible ya dig
| joomisy Hey my man, how long have you had your long hair? You rec what type of conditioner or w/e to use?
| Pon Hey man, I fixed up my review a bit and reworded a couple of sentences to avoid confusion about what I was trying to say. I appreciate the feedback, because I rarely get people who criticise my reviews in depth, so it's difficult to gauge whether I've written a load of hooey or not.
| OmairSh That is some objectivity rating
| Alastor Ah I see. Now you got me interested in the book, haha. Dank und Gruss!
| Alastor Do you actually hail from germany or what is it with your user name?
| Alastor Dude, you should really rate V:Hävitetty higher. It's their best album.
