| ButteryBiscuitBass No, that makes perfect sense. I think my problem is the looking over passages and then questioning them. I actually still like that sentence and the context it's used in, so I will run with it and ignore whatever niggling doubts I have. I will have a stab at writing as much as possible without looking back!

| ButteryBiscuitBass ...that and it gets to the point where I start cutting them out, so sitting down to work on my novel to extend it turns into reducing it in size! Does that make sense?

| ButteryBiscuitBass Sometimes it feels like I'm spending a lot of time reading and re-reading what I've written to the point that it just doesn't feel good. For example, I will write a couple of sentences, say 'I watched the sunset from my cave for the last time. I watched the merciless night invade the forest and massacre the unarmed soldiers of light.' When I wrote that sentence I was very proud of it, now it seems like it's too clumpy, a bit too much, so I will spend a lot of time editing sentences like...
