So we're checking out Underoath's latest album "Define the great line". I don't have much background information to tell you about the band since I've only gotten into them after listening to this album, but that could be a good thing cause their last album "They're only after safety" was as lame as my grandpa's 40 year old records I could find in their attic. The singer improved like nuts! So did the drummer's voice. Many people think that the guitars in this album are very basic, but they're not... at all! If you compare their guitar riffs from their last album, it's almost as if Jimmy Hendix came back from the dead and gave them a few pointers. And second of all, their genre of music doesnt acquire great guitar skills, most other bands of the same style just strum 0s on their lowest string.
So I'm going to write this review track my track, moment by moment , (Yes I know it's very unprofessional, but who cares right?) Let's get this over with:
1 - In Regards to myself.
When I first started listening to this album, I couldnt stop listening to this song. It used to be hands down my favorite song, I would even put it on loop sometimes. After listening to the song about a thousand times, It started to get on my nerves. The intro guitar riff is total kick ass. And when the whole band jumps in, the first thought that comes to your head is "This is Underoath?!??" You can't deny it, everyone thought the same thing. It really does show you how much talent they've been hiding since their last dreadful album. Near the end, a breakdown comes up, it's not very good and I usually just skip the track after the 2 verses.

2 - A moment suspended in time.
As soon as the intro started, I knew this song was gonna rock out. I was hoping they'd make a video for this song, too bad eh? This song is a lot softer than their last track. The Chorus (This can't be it, I gotta be dreaming) is extremly catchy, im not kidding, it gets jammed in your head for a few days. Great song, nothing else is needed to be said. 4/5
3 - There could be nothing after this.
The first 30 seconds of this song are really boring, so it took me a while to actually fully listen to this song without skipping it. I discovered that it's one of the best songs. It was this intense part that I could listen to all day and not care the least bit. The music stops and all you hear is the singer and drums (So talk about, talk about it, at least it makes you feel something INSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEE RAWR) that part is so good it's almost disgusting. Just that little part gives this song 10000000 / 5
4 - You're Ever so inviting.
This song kinda reminds me of old Underoath, and suprisingly it's a good song. it has a catchy chorus (We turn the pages left to right) the verses are average, nothing too special, but when the chorus kicks in it makes up for everything. I kind of find this song a 2 part song. After the last chorus, it goes into this deep interlude which I find was very well done. I used to skip the 2nd part of the song but now I find it even better than the first half. Another great song on the list. 4/5
5 - Salma -whatever.
This song is weird. it's a melodic song. After a while you start hearing a prayer and then a crowd comes in and you start thinking "what the hell is going on?" After a while you really start to crave more hard rock. Track 7 is also a melodic song, it's much better, trust me.

6 - Returning empty handed.
You craved for the hard rock after the last track, and it certainly gets delivered from this gorgeous track, Man this song is so sexy. The verses are perfect, his voice sounds in-f**cking-credible in this track. It has one of the best moments on the cd (Now I'm taking you with me) Amazing! IS there anything else I have to say? Just take my word for it, alright?
Tsis song is also a 2 part song like track 4, but this time the 2nd part gets very boring, I usually just skip it. Nothing too special. If they would of just ended the song after the breakdown, it would of gotten a perfect 5, but since they didnt end it very well, i give it a 4/5.
7 - Casting such a thin shadow.
Here's the 2nd melodic song, it's much better than the first one. Just put it this way: Track 7 is like Ryu, and track 5 is like Ken. This song is extremely long and here's the best part, it doesnt get annoying or repetative. It has sweet guitaring at one point. An excellent song although I skip it somtimes hence the length of the track and the calmness. It's still an extremely awsome song though. 5/5
8 - Moving for the sake of motion.
I used to hate this song so much, it used to just be a filler for me. I grew on the song and now I love it like a child. The chorus is amazing in this song. (Brace yourself). His voice really stands out in this song, at one point he screams "CMOONN AND BRACE YOURSELFFFF" which is one of the best singing moments in the album.
9 - Writting on the Walls.
THis song was their first single, the intro is so cheesy but I guess it's what girls call "cute". ANyways after the intro, the song starts to get hard. I used to actually dis-like this song when I first saw the video, I dont know what the hell I was on cause this is probobly my favorite track now. It has 2 of the best breakdowns on the entire cd. (We walk alone) Sometimes when I listen to that breakdown, I imagine myself on stage with my band playing this song and the whole crowd just goes nuts flying through the air and moshing like theres no tomorrow. The song finishes, or that's what you think until the ultimate breakdown suprises you. This suprising moment is so good I almost puked. Giving this song a perfect 5/5 and a heart attack.
10 - Everyone looks so god damn sexy from here.
I was so mad cause I scractched this cd and now neither this track or track 11 work. From what I remember about this song since I cant listen to it anymore, I remember good things. Very Very good things. I remember that this song was the hardest song on the album. I also remember the the verses were incredible (Building from the inside out)
But that's all I remember about it so whatever, I'll just give it a 5/5.
11- To Whom it may concern.
oh god, this lousy track? From what I remembered it pretty much blowed.
It's too soft, very boring, and painfully long. Horrible way to end the album, but it doesnt bother me at all cause it's scratched out of the cd.
