David Bowie The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
Release Date: 1972 |
Tracklist
Review Summary: An influential landmark. One of the most classic works. “The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars” is a very special album and one of the best and most representative albums of glam art rock from the 70’s. It became also a landmark and one of the most known and important rock albums ever made. So, “Ziggy Stardust” came with other albums like “Roxy Music” and “For Your Pleasure” from Roxy Music, as one of the albums that most contributed to influence the punk movement and the new wave. Despite “Ziggy Stardust” being not truly a progressive album, it would be a perfect tragedy not to have it in your personal collection, because it’s absolutely essential for any classic rock lover. In reality, we are in the presence of a brilliant conceptual album that became one of the greatest musical influences even in the progressive rock music.

I won't neg this because it's your first review, and for what it is, it's a decent paragraph about the impact this album had on the greater music scene. However, you don't really talk about the album at all here.
You say it's absolutely essential for any classic rock lover, but don't say why. What makes it so great? Why do you love it? What are the best songs? There's nothing wrong with having a paragraph like this one in your review, but you definitely could afford to elaborate on what exactly makes this album such a classic.

this site needs all the engagement it can get at this point, but agreed. decent writing, yet it reads more like a soundoff than a review.

A review from you is really news even more about an album that I love. Nice. It's always great to have some more reviewers on this site.
It's well written and I completely agree with all you wrote. I can even say that what you wrote could be written by myself. Still, I must agree with the other two previous comments. The review is too short and unfinished. It really seems more a soundoff than a review.
However, since this is your first attempt and what you wrote is well written, I'm going to give you a Pos.
Keep going, man.

Absolutely.

The review talks more about Roxy Music than the band who wrote the album. David Bowie isn't even mentioned... Something's amiss here. If this is your first review, keep expanding your style.

I was out of the site for a while. So only now is it possible to write my comment.
I think all of you are right. The review was too short, more a soundoff. It's more an impulse after listening to the album than something with a structure. We need to spend much more time writing a review, time I don't have much at the moment. In the future I will see.
Thanks guys for your help. It was nice to read your comments.
