Review Summary: Just nod your head bro
I'm just doing my part in writing a review of this album, and I do so in believing that I've had quite a palette cleanser of a few months to not really listen to this style of music (save Darko US Starfire, an absolutely monumental entry into the techdeath or dethcore or edmcore or whatever genre you want to try and classify them as). Suffice to say, this is a really greasy style of music, such I can only see the most genuine gremlins among us enjoying to its peak.
That being said, there's a certain charm this punctually-perplexed-named band comes to greet you with in this debut. The low-cemented vocals never stray from their anger-laden syllables, their lows absolutely taking full advantage of my subwoofers on every kick and palm muted gutterals. Every instrument knows exactly what it's doing, down to the sweet sweet tom and snare fills between each nonsensical sweet nothings the guitar (?) makes. Thank Emmure Jesus that this debut features only 6 tracks, as this endless pumping of distortion and vein-pumping testosterone would eventually outstay its welcome.
What it does show, is the ability to be consistent in what we enjoyers of the visceral auditory plunge into the depths demand from this sound: a stank face on the highway, a viable workout playlist, potentially a fun romp in the pit when they perform live. I'm willing to overlook any production touch ups this chug *** fest has undergone in that the end result is what I want, when I want it.
